I wholeheartedly endorse using Urban Homecraft! The designers and project manager helped me to realize exactly what I wanted. The workers who did the installation did an outstanding job. We are absolutely thrilled and everything from soup to nuts went flawlessly.

I just want to start by saying everything about Urban Homecraft is excellent. Their ownership, their people, their design and their execution.

Worked with George, Kayla and their team to build a floor to ceiling bookshelf across 2 walls in my bedroom. This had been a dream project of mine for a while and they made the whole process seamless. I’m super thrilled with the results (see pictures, though books aren’t loaded in quite yet!). The team was very collaborative and took time to make sure we got the designs right - we ended up iterating on the lighting choices, the ladder color and material for the railing, and I even noticed a little later in the installation that I would want to have a built in keyboard extension which they were able to accommodate. The installation crew was extremely professional, kind, and the workmanship was top notch. No issues on timing, everything took pretty much exactly as much time as they told me to budget for it. I couldn’t be happier with this project overall and highly recommend working with this group!

We just had a custom-built wardrobe installed in our bedroom by Urban Homecraft, who were highly recommended by two neighbors. The entire experience was five-star; it couldn't have been better. A representative quickly came to our apartment, listened to our needs, took measurements, and drafted several proposals. After some further discussion, a revised plan was drafted that perfectly met our needs After a second set of measurements, it was installed more quickly than we expected by two very professional and hard working carpenters, who completed the work more quickly than predicted, and cleaned up afterwards. The appearance and quality are first-rate; it really changed the whole vibe of the room for the better. I only wish we had done this sooner!

We have brought in Urban Homecraft on a few projects that transformed our apartment. They make sure they understand the end goals of the projects and they also provide great ideas as to what can improve on the asks, once they get to see the space. All of the employees have been pleasant and professional. We hope to bring them back again and we have highly recommended the company to friends and family.

Urban Homecraft has transformed our apartment one room at a time with incredibly crafted, precisely tailored built-ins. We first worked with them to help us maximize space in our living room with a floor to ceiling bookshelf and credenza, and several years later after a few years living with their great work, we brought them back in the help maximize storage in our primary bedroom, and transform an additional bedroom into a multi-purpose space that we now use as a shared office, kids' playroom, and media room. Their advice on how to use the limited space effectively was spot on, and their work meticulously incorporated every oddly placed electrical outlet and lightswitch, making incredible use of a room that was simply a waste of space as a guest room. I HIGHLY recommend Urban Homecraft, and we'll be back the next time we need some help to make better and more beautiful use of a space.

We can't recommend UH highly enough!! We had them do two projects- a fairly straight forward built-in wardrobe in our bedroom and a custom laundry cabinet for a very tight, irregular space in a powder room. They knocked both projects out of the park with ingenuity, professionalism, and care- and their installation teams were incredibly respectful and careful when working in our apartment. The laundry closet in particular was something that even stumped other contractors and UH came up with some really elegant design solutions that made it both very nice to look at and supremely functional for our needs. We get SO MANY positive comments on it from guests.

Urban Homecraft did such an incredible job with our custom closets! My spouse and I were considering moving from our studio to a larger apartment, but we wanted to see if it'd be possible to re-do our closets to meet our storage needs instead. We're so glad we hired Urban Homecraft for the job -- our storage issues have been solved, our new closets are beautiful, and we love our apartment even more. When we were gathering proposals from different closet companies Urban Homecraft really stood out in terms of being able to maximize space in the face of oddly-shaped NYC closets. They were able to deal with all of the weird shapes and even a cable running through one closet that belonged to our building and needed to stay in place. None of it phased them, and what they were able to build for us is in a totally different league than what would have been possible with a modular closet system from one of their competitors. Working with them was a total breeze. They're all really lovely people! It was a very collaborative process; they listened to everything we were hoping to accomplish and told us how to make the best use of our space. They measured all of our items to make sure everything we wanted to store would fit, including how high we're comfortable reaching to put away a coat on a hanger. Their attention to detail was incredible. They explained all of the pros and cons when we had to make a decision and were very up front when something would cost extra (no pressure and no surprises). And they were very thorough in going over the plans with us before construction started to make sure we were happy and didn't have any unanswered questions. Getting approval from our building and construction itself was also super simple. The project ran smoothly and finished on time. They made sure we tested everything and were happy before closing things out. And the end result is beautiful and functional. It's been almost a year and they're holding up great. We can store so much more, and access our belongings more easily, than we ever could before. What more could you ask for?

Our Urban Homecraft custom cabinets are absolutely gorgeous. They look amazing, the design is well thought out for practical use, they are extremely well built, and the finishes are smooth and even. We are delighted. Urban Homecraft is a professional group of cabinetry artisans. Their communication is excellent, design work is inspired and detailed, and they do what they say they will do. From the start, they considered every option and detail and the design was better than we could have imagined. Our project manager answered our questions quickly and if she said we'd have something by a certain day, it was there. Communication through the design process was clear and detailed. They built the cabinets in their workshop, so the installation in our apartment was less than a week, with two short follow up visits. The cabinets are beautifully built and are rock solid. Every person we worked with was conscientious and easy to work with.

We wanted to maximize the space on the walls of our living room by creating built-ins and adding a fireplace feature. (See first photo which is the “before” photo from the “for sale” listing). We selected Urban Homecraft, and our experience was outstanding. From our first meeting with George and Kayla, the attention to detail was excellent. The contracting experience was seamless as we worked with Casey to sort out the details. We then worked closely with Kayla on the entire design phase of the built-ins. She helped us with the proper sizing, material selection, and helped us ensure we chose the right size for our fireplace insert. Kayla also coordinated with our marble vendor to ensure the stone was properly templated to match the specs of the design. In sum, Kayla is excellent. Finally, the installation team was great. They prepped our apartment to minimize any mess and debris and worked within the parameters of our co-op’s “ house rules.” The installers were incredibly detailed in their work. As you can see from the 3 last photos, the built-ins came out beautifully and add so much to our apartment. 5 stars for Urban Homecraft!

Had a fantastic experience with Urban Homecraft who designed and built a beautiful stand-alone bookcase that is doing double-duty as a room divider for us. We had some unique challenges due to our apartment layout and our strict coop board, but the folks at Urban Homecraft were able to deal with it all and were extremely communicative throughout the process. We're very happy with final result and definitely would recommend Urban Homecraft!

We absolutely love our new built in cabinetry, and the experience of working with the team was a pleasure from start to finish. Everyone was communicative, reliable and collaborative. We completed a thorough design process where I had the opportunity to explore questions about each piece and to visualize different variations. I received valuable input on how to make each piece better than I originally envisioned it. The installation was smooth and quick, and the craftsmanship is impeccable. We are so proud of the customized, high-end touches we now have in our home.

Urban Homecraft is the most professional construction organization I've ever worked with. This is a company that does what they say they are going to do, when they say they are going to do it (if not before), so refreshing in a field notorious for its delays. We needed some custom bookshelves to accommodate our insanely large book collection. From the start, everyone on the team was easy to deal and communicate with. Everything was clearly spelled out in a contract, with milestone dates specified. The design process was excellent. Eric, our designer, interpreted our needs perfectly and also made some great suggestions that we think really enhanced the result. The build is so beautiful and professional and really elevates the space. I really hope to work with them again.

I can't recommend Urban Homecraft strongly enough! We hired them to create more storage in our apartment, ahead of the arrival of our first kid. George did the first walkthrough and thought up such smart, creative solutions we never would have come up with ourselves. From there, the entire process was seamless. The whole team is thoughtful, competent, professional, and timely. They drew up designs for the three units we ended up building, we went back and forth on small edits, and then we were put on the schedule for install. They communicated clearly, kept to their timelines, and even finished a day early. The utility of our space has been absolutely transformed by their beautiful, elegant work, and every person who has seen the cabinetry remarks that it looks as if it always should have been there. I hired Urban Homecraft to remake my office space in December 2023 after I got a more remote work position and needed a more functional space (see before picture). I cannot recommend them highly enough! From the initial consult with George and Kayla they were able to help me envision a home office I did not think would be possible for such a limited space and were able to make the office fit in with my décor perfectly. The installation with Scott was also extremely smooth and professional given how disruptive it could have been around the holidays. Would gladly recommend them again

We hired Urban Homecraft to design and create 3 separate, equally stylish (modern minimalist) storage pieces for our apartment in Dumbo and the result was stunning. Our home is much more functional as a direct result, and beautiful as well. The process was entirely professional and seamless - a representative from UH came to our place to discuss our needs and within a couple of days we had a detailed design mock-up & price proposal. Everything proceeded like clockwork with clear communication throughout; no deadlines were missed, installation was also faster than anticipated and a total pleasure. I highly recommend Urban Homecraft for anyone looking to maximize their space, or just modernize their storage needs. They are creative and innovative with design (classic and modern), efficient, and use high quality materials - very much worth the pricetag.

We hired Urban Homecraft to build us a custom kitchen island, and are SUPER happy with how everything turned out. I was personally concerned with the scope of the project, but George and his team were extremely professional from start to finish. Excellent communication from the beginning when we had our phone and in-house consultation, and throughout the process of discussing the design options, the type of material and finishings, and the installation process. Initial measurements were taken, but our project manager, Eric, made another trip to make sure all the measurements were spot on. Everyone answered all our questions in a thorough manner during phone calls and in person meetings, and were upfront with what was possible and what was trickier to accomplish, thus allowing us to design an island that fit our needs best. Our concerns were taken seriously and solutions were provided. Speaking of installation, I was impressed by the speed and efficiency at which the island was installed. There was some cutting needed, but the team made sure that our kitchen and living room was left dust-free and clean. Basically the whole process was a breeze. George even did a post-project debriefing with us to make sure that we were satisfied with our island. Highly recommend!

Urban homecraft did a great job converting our second bedroom into an office and guest room. They installed on one wall, a desk with bookcases and cabinets and on the other wall, a Murphy bed and more storage. We were extremely impressed with the whole process. George and his team made the process so smooth. The attention to detail was impressive. They listened to what we needed and were able to make it happen beyond our expectations. George had some really good ideas and clever tips to maximize our space. Kayla was so helpful and communicative. Konstantine and team did an tremendous job on the install, we couldn’t be happier. I could not have had a better experience with George, Che, Kayla and the entire Urban Homecraft crew. From our initial call through installation, the communication, attentiveness, knowledge, guidance and patience exhibited by everyone we worked with far exceeded expectations. While we went into the process having an idea of what we wanted, George and Che helped us hone in on that vision, making sure we never lost sight of what it is we wanted to gain while adding invaluable knowledge and guidance to really make sure we maximized the efficiency of the pieces they were building. The installation process also went smoother than we could have imagined, with the crew finishing before their estimated completion date, and working beyond cleanly and quietly. What really stood out during installation is that at the end of each day, the crew consolidated all of their equipment, making sure to ask where the best place to leave it was so as to not disrupt our home, and covering it all with a tarp so it was as safe as possible, which meant a ton especially with a baby and dog running around! Throughout design and installation, and even thereafter, George and Che continuously checked in with us to ensure we were happy with the progress, and address any questions or concerns we had so we always felt we were on the same page and the right track. The professionalism exhibited by the entire team, and the product they built, was all really stellar and I would both recommend them immensely and use them again myself in the future!

I have worked with George and his crew from Urban Homecraft twice in the last two years. I highly recommend them. They spend hours with you at the beginning of a project, helping you design the perfect unit - one that fits perfectly in your space (both the design and the measurements), will look stunning, and utilizes the space as efficiently as possible. They are also extremely cost conscious and work within your budget. The team leaves no detail to chance. They have multiple consultations with you throughout the project to make sure they don't miss any small imperfection in the space that will require design tweaking. They take incredible pride in their beautiful work and clearly want their customers to be happy. To that end, they ask you throughout the project to consider what you want to use the unit for, for example, paperback books or large table book, boots or flats, purses or book bags - to make sure that once the unit is built, everything fits exactly as planned. They are easy to communicate with, very accessible, trustworthy and overall such a pleasure to work with.

Extremely happy with the full wall built-in bookshelf and media center that the team at Urban Homecraft provided. They were a pleasure to work with, highly responsive and professional with multiple check-ins along the way from a design, measurement, re-design perspective that led to final delivery of a custom crafted built-in suited perfectly to our needs. There were a variety of material choices, all of high quality, and the final construction is well-executed. In addition, cost and payment installments were very visible and consistent out of the gate, and the team did everything in their power to beat their initial timing estimate for completion.

I hired Urban Homecraft to help design and build 2 facing shelving units with a joining banquette under double windows. I have an historic house and wanted the unit to respect and fit in with the style of the house. George and his team were great to work with in the design process. There were several revisions of the design, so when the building phase started, every concern had been addressed, and every detail had been worked out. Once the design had been finally approved, the shop work was finished fairly quickly. Urban built the pieces of the unit in a very logical way, so the installation process would be quick and efficient. Urban's installers were very careful, and precise, as well as bringing very thoughtful and responsive to any questions or concerns I had. The final product met all my expectations for what I imagined for the space. I had no complaints, and the pricing, although not inexpensive was certainly worth the service and quality I received. I would recommend Urban Homecraft to anyone who is looking for interior carpentry.
