Had few antique items to sell, showed him photos, he gave an estimate offer with 2 prices. We made the appointment. He did not call in advance. When I called him, he said he was 10 minutes away. He arrived before me with the tuck and started loading item in truck. Normally people pay then pick up items, he doesn't. After finishing, he gave me the lowest price of the estimated offer and one items he simply picked up, priced it without discussing it with me. Worst of this, he gave me a check and refused to either pay cash or add extra to cover taxes. When I told him the deal is off, he asked for $100-$150 to unload the items from his truck. Not willing to negotiate, quite a stubborn man. I've been to his store few times and I never bought anything because he is very pricey. It turned out that he buys very low and sell very high.Not doing anymore business with people with that attitude. Not the the good character to be doing retail business.
Unique selection of vintage items, specifically very interesting furniture. However, they are pretty expensive, even for small items.
They have a very cute shop cat too.
I love that they have different vintage items. However, they are a bit overpriced. I understand their pricing for the furniture but not for the smaller items. For example, they had a floral urn that was completely rusted for around $80. Down the street, i found the exact same one for $25. I would say they are still worth a visit, I found many good rare items
I came across Time Galleries via social media and decided to check them out. The store is quite grand with rows and rows of antique electronics, glassware, furniture, lighting and wall art. They even have a basement full of antique furniture that is open to customers. The woman working the front desk was friendly and helpful. When buying a bigger piece of furniture, you’re given 7 days to come pick it up with proper transportation or you can inquire with their various delivery services available about having it dropped off to your home. Prices are not firm and they are open to negotiation so long as it is fair. Come pick-up day, our item was in the same condition as when I first purchased it and staff helped bring it up the stairs as well as outside to load it into our vehicle. Definitely recommend checking out Time Galleries! They are constantly restocking so there is always new stuff to check out!
Angel agreed to buy a vintage coffee table from us after communication over the phone, texting and sending multiple pictures of the item. We set up a time to drop it off and agreed on a price.
Upon dropping off the table we were told instantly and rather rudely that they would not accept it. After we took the time to transport it ourselves to the store. This lack of professionalism and disrespect for our time leaves us feeling quite negatively about Time Galleries and I’d advise anyone doing business with them in the future to think twice.
This place has lots of great finds, and really kind people. I got two vintage 1960s bar height chairs in great condition for a great price. They deliver nearby too. Always fun to walk around inside and take it all in!
Lovely place! Nice curated vintage furniture and home goods. The price here is very reasonable for sturdy quality vintage furniture. Bought a beautiful mirror with ivory color hand carved wood for $300. Will definitely come back
Time Galleries is packed with a beautiful selection of high quality furniture. Buy used and get pieces that will last! Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Don't skip the lower level where they have items that still need work because there are some good deals down there. Also don't forget to look up or you'll miss the fabulous light fixtures. The vast inventory and the hard working staff are great. If you're not a jerk and make a reasonable offer, there is some wiggle space on the prices. If you're in the neighborhood, even better service, they carried an armoire to my apartment 4 blocks away!
A lot of my furniture and decor is from Time. These guys always are available to talk about the origins of their finds and negotiate slightly on prices although that's infrequently needed. Highly recommend this place if you're around the Slope area and don't forget there's a fantastic downstairs!
Can't believe this place still exists, been there forever and they still have a ton of great used furniture at a reasonable range of prices. The place is cavernous and you can really get lost exploring.
For someone interested in Antiques, this is a true treasure chest. Sooooo many treasures.
I just moved to Brooklyn and looking around for some cheap furniture entered this shop with not much hope. I stayed a long while. Just going around and around and around. Calculating my budget and my space and my budget again. They have great stuff. Lovely mahogany chest of drawers, next to the now stylish again sideboards from the 1960s. Also lovely bed side tables from the 1930s.
I fell in love with a Neo-Grecian food stool and had to leave it behind ... heartbroken. I don't need a foot stool, but ohh I so wish I could just buy it anyway.
