VERY CUTE DOGGO!! Selection is mediocre if i must be honest for a army navy store but the owner makes up for it. I will continue to support as long as they are here.
I started working in the area recently and was passing by and the store caught my attention. First time I walked in, I immediately noticed that there were a pair of therogood boots. I had to try them on, I was sold and said I would come back tomorrow for them. Once I got off my shift later I returned to take them home. I couldn't wait lol. There is a world of difference between see a product online through a screen and actually feeling them in person. Im in need of quality work pants and other apparel, and I'll be going back to this spot. I would highly recommend this spot. My fear is now going into this store and walking out with a lighter wallet, but you get apparel that will last a long time.
Great selection of products here at very affordable prices. The staff is always extremely nice and always willing to help. Couldn't recommend this place more.
Beautiful supply of iconic American classics; Pendleton, Schott, Carhartt, Wrangler, Levi’s, Dickies… A really great store, with very helpful staff. Also, much better organised and laid out than the average workwear / surplus store.

This is one of the best stores on the Avenue . They have a variety of goods and awesome work wear . The staff is attentive and the prices are very reasonable. I would recommend this store to anyone looking to support our small businesses.

Honestly best customer service I received I expected to go in there and shop on my own with only 10 minutes on the parking spot I was in and out in 8 because they got me everything I needed ASAP told them what I wanted asked for suggestions and they were AMAZING and SUPER CLEAN everyone had protective wear on and I felt safe making my purchase the best 260 I have dropped for my and my partner. Loved it and will be back for my partners needs as a porter!
I don't leave a ton of reviews, but have to give a shout-out to this place. The gentleman behind the counter who helped me was super nice and the shorts I bought are incredibly comfortable. Great place to buy clothes in Greenpoint, BK.
5 star service. This was my first experience shopping with this retailer and it could have easily turned into a terrible experience, but quite the contrary.
I recently bought 2 pairs of pants. I tried one pair on in the store, they fit great so I bought another color of the exact pants without trying them on. I get home and the pair i didn't try on has a defect - a missing button.
Ugh, what a pain. So i immediately return the defective pair. The staff was extremely nice and accommodating. They were out of my size and that was the last pair, so they had to order a new pair. They said we'll call you when they come in and I went home.
Cato's called me the very next day to let me know they placed the order and that the pants should arrive in 7-10 days. Great!
On the 4th day they called again and said the pants arrived. I went to the store and picked them up with no issues.
Here's the bottom line. These people called me twice within 4 days to make sure everything was ok. This type of service is rare in NYC. I deeply respect and appreciate their loyalty to their customers and definitely will be shopping at this store more often. Thank you Cato's for being on top of things.
Such a deceptively good shop. The Dickies stock is so good, great prices. Loads of really good essentials here too. The staff are really helpful and always very kind when you're in here.
Lots of basics here, but also if you look closely - some pretty fancy stuff from some expensive brands. It's far from a surplus store (as the name suggests).
Very good selection packed into a small spot. I was looking for summer weight rip stop BDUs for work and walked out with some new bandanas as well. I noticed they sell Thorogood boots here, so I will be returning to try some on. Overall a great find and I will be giving them as much business as I can.
Been shopping here for 18 years. Support your local Mom and Pops. Great customer service and good prices. I love this place, that's why I keep coming back. I usually comparison shop onlinon to see if I can get a better price. But I'm always more than happy to pay a few bucks extra to support this place. I would be so sad if they were ever to close shop. Not many places in the city where pride in customer service shines through like it does here.
Enjoyed my purchase, the staff are very helpful and very friendly. Reasonable prices for QUALITY work/outdoor clothing. Carries original clothing, no used military surplus. Worth the short trip to that area of Williamsburg, Brooklyn (via public trans.) The neighborhood is most interesting. You can make an afternoon of it in that area of Williamsburg, after shopping at Cato's.
I've been a loyal customer of Cato's for over 10 years. They have outstanding options for high quality clothing for very fair economical prices. They also carry military-official apparel.
Their customer service is excellent, very friendly and well-informed with their suggestions in comparable options within the store.
Check them out....There's a reason for them still being in business over 40 years later.

Great store with plenty to choose from! I work in film and tv and I came here while we were filming in the neighborhood to try to find some winter gear since we stand outside for 12-16 hours a day and they had the perfect gear! A few of my coworkers also bought some new cold weather gear and we are so happy with our purchases!! The prices are great too!! Thank you so much!
