I come here occasionally for the discounted sushi at 8pm. Honestly, the food quality is pretty bad especially for the price. Some of it is good but most of it is overrated and down right nasty. I wanted to leave a review because I bought the salmon teriyaki hot plate and I'm pretty sure they didn't remove the flakes off the skin off the sides of the fish. I don't know if I imagined it but it was so nasty. And honestly, regarding amount, that full plate is just not enough to feed one person. Their salmon avo rolls are sometimes literally uneven, where half of the roll has twice as much fish than the other half. Their poke bowls are ridiculously small and embarrassing, there's barely any fish there covered up with the illusion of other inconsequential small items like cubes of kani or egg. Everything is diced up into these micro little centimeter pieces and there's not enough rice in the poke bowl same as teriyaki hotplate. Some of their spicy rolls are pretty good and pretty fresh, some have tasted nasty and oily or stale. Very hit or miss. Their special rolls have kani inside, more empty toppings. But the absolutely worst are those to-go sushi triangles. They're just glorified riceballs. That's literally like a one centimeter thin layer of food and you're basically getting a glorified riceball with one of the inner surfaces smeared with a tiny amount of food. Actually the worst are their eel rolls and eel sushi, they include so much fat piece of thick eel skin alongside the eel meat that it's seriously inedible. I hate when sushi places do this. I love eel and always getting taken with the fake fantasy there's some delicious food there only to get that fat inedible piece of skin. This place has no shortage of customers during tourist season but it's really overrated imo.

Bought a couple of items and a beverage. I drank my beverage and brought it to checkout and gave the bottle to the cashier saying I wanted to pay for it. She then told me to not do this again and just to wait until I pay for things before I consume them, which I thought was unnecessary because I was paying for the item nonetheless — unfriendly attitude, did not appreciate it.

I was sold an item today which had gone bad and smelled awful upon opening. I immediately walked back over five blocks to verify with the store staff it had gone bad and to get a refund. The staff didn't really seem to care that I had almost ingested moldy food or needed to walk all the way back. Last week, I bought something which had no expiration date. Upon asking a member of the staff at checkout, I was told to look and smell for signs of mold myself. I am fine with selling soon to expire food, but I draw the line when the product is knowingly questionable. I frequent this place but I ask that quality control and customer care/service be given more attention. Until then, I unfortunately don't see myself coming back.

Came out of way to come here at 8pm because my friend said they had good fish and there’s no sushi left. Don’t usually leave bad reviews but why advertise that you’re open until 9:30 if you stop serving sushi before 8pm?

Management needs to ease up. Asking a frequent customer not to sit in their table while waiting for her partner to pay for the food (it’s empty with just 1 girl eating her sushi) This sure is unwelcoming and unnecessary. Fix your attitude. “Sorry it’s the rule” this is New York, not Japan.

The food is delicious, however customer service is abysmal. My 50 cent sauce that I paid for fell as soon as I left; since I bought a poke, I immediately returned and asked if I could grab the poke sauce that comes with it complimentary to replace it (this normally is free with the purchase). No, you’ll have to buy a new one. As a regular who has come here nearly every week sometimes multiple times a week, this isn’t acceptable or friendly. I had to come back in, state verbally “I just bought this and I’d like to buy a new sauce since mine fell out there” because they assume you steal things if you don’t have the receipt… You’ll have to wait in line. Of course, I will wait in the line! No offer of understanding or compassion, no friendliness, no customer servicing for store loyalty. I will absolutely pay another 50 cents when I’m entitled to the free sauce and never come back again. Do not recommend.

My favorite Japanese market in New York City. From the quick, grab and go food options to the dry goods upstairs, the hot food, there's something for everyone here. Limited dine in space but I'd still go somewhat out of my way to pop in here

This place is good but I got food poisoning after purchasing a cooked salmon onigiri that I believe was sitting out unrefrigerated for several hours. just be cautious.

Disgusting. Just purchased some salmon and rice and chicken and rice and they add nasty green and red food colorings. Will not have any of their prepared foods again.

My husband and I have been frequent customers of the store. We enjoyed their sushi and dessert. Unfortunately, there has been a drastic and sustained decline in quality of the prepared foods, specifically rolls in the recent weeks. The food is prepared in a sloppy way, rolls don’t taste well. Last couple of times we tried them, we couldn’t even finished a half of the meal. At this point, we are not buying anything at this store any time soon. Very disappointed. Hope management will see this review and make changes to get back to the previous levels of quality.

I absolutely love this charming neighborhood Japanese market! They have all the essentials, from groceries and snacks to prepackaged hot food, and--best of all--sushi! I'm especially a fan of their onigiri rice balls; they're one of my favorites. While it is a bit on the pricier side, the quality of the food makes it worthwhile. I come here often because it's convenient, and the line always moves quickly!

Well stocked Japanese grocery store with indoor dining seats. Wish we have such store in Colorado Springs. Great place for casual Japanese breakfast or lunch.

WOW! YES! Some of the best sushi I’ve had and it comes from a market! The staff is incredibly kind, reasonable prices, wide selection and incredible food options!

Such a cool Japanese grocery store. Deceptively small looking from the outside and when you first enter, but then you walk up some steps and there's a whole other area of the store presented to you. You can even pick up cute housewares and home goods here. I picked up the neatest little mug. A lot of great drink varieties and fresh foods too.

Drove 1 hour here specifically for some Japanese flavors. Nice variety for a small local market. I love the exotic beer selections not offered elsewhere. 5 pm on a Saturday and it is quite busy. Great spot for some sushi rolls and other fried snacks. They have a few tables for self seated indoor dining after you purchase food. Some side streets are closed off to cars so good area for a leisurely walk also. ??

The groceries here are pricier than hmart but it's convenient to get it in this area. Where this place really shines is in its prepped food. The chicken karage with rice and sides was only 8.99 and was delicious. Their onigiri is like $3 and really tasty. I'd recommend!

One of the best sushi deals in NYC! Ten Ichi Mart is a Japanese grocery store that has 50% off sushi, onigiri, poke bowl, and all hot foods after 8pm every single day. My husband and I came a bit earlier around 7:35pm to choose what items we wanted for dinner (could also be a good option for lunch the next day, but we finished everything the same night) and waited until 8pm to check out. When we were there, there were around 5 people picking and choosing, but it got much more crowded once it got closer to 8pm. There’s going to be a long checkout line, but it moves fast! This is a solid option for a quick grab-and-go meal, and there are multiple locations (Williamsburg, Gramercy, Cobble Hill). What we got and daily prices after 8pm: $5.49 Sushi combo - favorite one! 5 pieces $5.49 Spicy shrimp and spicy tuna - 10 pieces $1.99 Lobster salad onigiri - does have real pieces of lobster in here $1.79 Unagi onigiri - love the umami flavor Total w/ tax: $16.07 - such a great deal!

I’ve always been a local shopper at Ten Ichi whenever I work or stop by my office at Kent Ave. One of the first things I do is buy lunch from there. They have fresh sashimi and sushi every day, and they have tons of other food to choose from such as onigiri, rice bowls, soba, and many more. It is a Japanese market after all!

Terrific grocery and amazingly low prices. Japanese products are always wonderful but they’re often really expensive. Cold dishes sushi pokey bowls and the General grocery items are tasty and terrific really just unprecedented in my experience. They even have a few tables to sit down and sample what you’ve bought. I’d recommend this more. Friendly staff great choices delicious food wonderful prices. Hard to beat .

They have such an incredible array of snacks and drinks. I’m definitely coming back here to try more. I got a seaweed salad and shrimp sushi. Both came at a good price and were restaurant quality. The sushi was five for $10.99 and the seaweed salad was around $3. I got a drink as well and overall a lunch for under $20 and a good quality lunch is going to get 5 stars.

Prepared foods is pretty decent here, good portions and price. Even better if you manage to get things when they restock a fresh batch. Also has a big assortment of snacks to go along with the meal if you want. Would definitely get again if nearby and want something quick!

A clean and organized mini mart with literally everything you want from food to snacks to home goods. Really cute spot and want to come back to try the food.

Ten Ichi Mart & Deli is a Japanese / Asian grocery selling a variety of Asian grocery items, snacks, candies, beers and more. there’s also a nice selection of pre-packaged sushi rolls and hot foods like rice bowls. the store is very clean, bright lit, and neatly organized. the grocery section is packed with a variety of food items from Japanese ingredients, packaged foods, and frozen foods. there’s some seating toward the front of the grocery if you want to sit and eat. prices are competitive with most other Japanese groceries and other Asian specialty stores. have been here multiple times and have been really satisfied with everything i got. my favorite treat here are the Japanese ice cream wafers ($2 + tax)…so good. grabbed a Karaage Don ($8.99 + tax) —a fried chicken rice bowl for dinner and i was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the fried chicken chunks, the rice, veggies and other toppings…definitely a great option when you’re too lazy to cook. staff are efficient and friendly

More of a supermarket than a deli. Great collection of straight from Japan goods. Fun to build your own ramen - they have all the toppings and more. They even have the mini coffee cans that are stocked in the vending machines of the Tokyo subway.
