This shop is perfectly located near the hostel I always stay at when visiting and across the street from the L line metro station. I came here twice this trip and will be making Friends a routine stop for trinkets for myself and souvenirs for my loved ones. On my first stop I took it all in and was quickly able to find things for myself and my partner. On my second trip I required some assistance for finding a birthday gift for my nephew whos like my baby brother as he turned 24 while I was in town. I told some staff members that I was looking for something that was a nod to our childhood together, but also acknowledged that he is a young man. I was helped by two staff members the first staff member I didnt catch her name gave me an indepth tour of the store based the information I gave her. She gave me a lot of options to consider so when I was still stumped at finding the "perfect" souvenir I asked another staff member for help. Destiny listened closely to what I said and helped me narrow down the many ideas I had for my nephew. I settled on two gifts the first one was a cook book by snoop dog that the first staff memeber pointed out to me as a good option and a candle with a neutral but cleansing scent that Destiny showed me. All and all the staff at this place are very helpful and I had a wonderful experience.

I bring everyone I know here and get most of my birthday presents here! The store is truly unique in both the quality and variety of gifts sold. They have a pretty decent rewards program too.
I have to say… I was a HUGE fan of the clothing when it was sold here. I’m not going to knock down any stars because I’m sure it was a business decision to get rid of it, but just wanted to share ?
I come here for all of my present shopping throughout the year! You can always find something unique for someone, the prices are reasonable and it’s a fun experience.
The items I received were in terrible condition. The lighter looked cheaply packaged with crooked tape, and the grinder had paint chipped off upon arrival. This is not what I expected for the price and definitely not acceptable for new products. Extremely disappointed and would not recommend this company.
There is a HUGE selection, a great variety of brands, and prices are very reasonable. I bought a North Face coat, a pair of shoes, a crocheted sweater, and a few other things, all for under $100.
I’m obsessed with this store, I dropped a good amount of money just because there were so many cute items that I couldn’t pass on during my NYC trip. It’s very well curated and the staff is super friendly. I’ll definitely be paying a visit on my next trip.
I’m a last minute guy, and Friends has been my lifesaver for gift giving. They have a wide array of cute unique things - hello kitty, miffy, plushies, candles, labubu, funny greeting cards, you name it. Only downside is it’s definitely quite pricey
Such a cute little knickknack store! They have a fun section of stickers and I am a huge sticker collector so that was so fun. They sell a lot of smoking friendly items and I don't smoke at all but I did enjoy admiring them!
It seems the first review was removed, so it bears repeating: this company deserves no more than 2 stars. Damaged boxes, followed by empty promises of a response. After that, communication stops completely, customers are left ghosted with no accountability.
A business that vanishes the moment an issue arises shows a clear lack of integrity. Online shopping already carries enough risk without companies adding to it by refusing to stand behind their products.

I ordered online from this company and unfortunately received my Sonny Angels packaging damaged. I first reached out on August 12th and was told on the 13th to email their shipping team, which I did right away (and even provided proof). I was told they’d get back to me “ASAP,” but I never heard back.
I followed up again on Instagram the same day asking when I should expect a response. My message was read but ignored. I sent another follow-up and was again met with silence. This lack of communication is really disappointing.
Mistakes and damaged products happen, but good customer service means actually responding and helping customers resolve issues. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case here.
If you’re looking for better service and reliability when shopping for Sonny Angels, I’d recommend checking out myplastichearts online store instead.
Been shopping here for over 4 years. I really loved their vintage clothes and jewelry - always such a unique, well-curated selection - but it seems like less of a focus these days. Feels like a lot of their stock is branded toys now (snoopy, hello kitty, etc) which don’t appeal to me as much.
Big nasty attitude from staff who are drinking on the job and charged for a gift wrap which took 10 minutes and did not tell me I was charged until I asked to just take my items and leave because it was taking so long. This store used to be fun but it’s always functioned as a gift shop so wrapping gifts to at minimum to protect items from breaking ought to be included. Now all they carry is big licensing child dolls and play house toys and bongs and take weed. No need to ever go back here. It’s changed a lot and I would recommend you avoid at all costs
I placed an online order to include a ceramic vase and it was in pieces when I received it. I then emailed twice, DMed on Instagram, left comments on Instagram and TikTok, and called the store twice with NO help whatsoever. I didn’t even get a response to my emails or on social media. Even worse, they responded to other commenters AFTER I commented asking for help and still completely ignored me. When I called I was just told they would tell their manager. This is absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I will never do business with this shop again.
I was buying some gifts for my friends, and after placing my purchase over a month ago for almost $200, I finally got an update that there was damage to my package. After multiple attempts to contact customer service, I have not heard back, and my package is still nowhere to be found. I don't usually make reviews like this, but this is so unprofessional, and I really just want to get what I ordered. I do not recommend shopping on the online store.
Friends NYC does sell several distinctive item such as the "No smoking" pencils. Nonetheless, the blind boxes are too expensive, and I would rather visit My Plastic Hearts or Kinokuniya for more choices and better prices.
I understand it’s the holidays and retail stores are very busy but at least provide your team with accurate information. I ordered an item online for pickup, not shipping, and called Saturday afternoon to see if it’s ready for pickup. The person on the phone assured me it would be ready by Sunday. My husband drove to your store and it still wasn’t ready to be picked up despite it being on the shelf. I called and spoke with your manager, who I could tell was trying her best, but really annoyed me when she refused to give me her name. I ended up canceling the order and asked for a refund.
This was my first time visiting the shop, and I was very pleasantly surprised by the huge selection, and very fair prices! For anyone visiting, this would be a great place to get New York specific gifts! Their selection of vintage clothes is very well curated and all very clean! I would highly recommend this shop to locals and tourists alike!
As a small shop consisting largely of small gifts and home goods, Friends offers a lot for those looking for a store with hipster flair. In pair with gifts, a small section of used apparel is also available. The staff is friendly and welcoming to all, with items being affordable!
Typical L train trip to Bushwick.. started at the larger thrift shops, got totally overwhelmed, and then stumbled into this gem. Just the right amount of inventory, impeccably organized, and well priced! Perfect boutique with a little bit of everything. Snatched a cute shmmer dress and earrings.
