M fine lumber is the best spot to get reclaimed lumber in the city. Anil and Max helped me get exactly what I needed for my home improvement project and even worked with me on the schedule I needed. I’ll be coming back and telling my friends to get their lumber here too.
During the renovation of the loft space of a 1890s building in Lower Manhattan, finding period-correct flooring became a major challenge. That’s where M. Fine Lumber truly excelled — they not only matched the unusual dimensions but also the exact wood species and grain pattern.
Throughout the entire process, Anil, Merritt, and their team exceeded every expectation. They skillfully navigated each challenge, from material selection to milling and final delivery. Their craftsmanship and dedication were outstanding.

I wanted to take the time to write a review. Customers always take the time to complain, but never take the time to speak about quality customer service. I am writing to share my recent positive experience with Anil at M. Fine Lumber.
I first called via telephone in regards to purchasing distress wood to complete my mirror project. Anil, encouraged me to visit the store. I visited the store two days later. I was so amazed with the different types of wood to chose from for my mirror project. From the moment I arrived, Anil provided exceptional customer service that truly stood out to me. He took the time to understand my needs and to listen attentively. I explained to him that my mother passed away eleven years ago and I was finally ready to create a zen space with a floor mirror with a distress type look. Anil, helped me figure out how to execute this project since it was my first time. Anil, went above and beyond to ensure I was able to find exactly what I was looking for at M. Fine Lumber. Anil, helped me choose the perfect distress wood - full of character and charm. This made all the difference for my unique look. I truly appreciate the time Anil took with me to walk outside in the Lumber yard to choose the correct wood. The final piece reflected what I was looking for. The mirror is not only beautiful, but feel personal and unique.
What impressed me the most was Anil's deep knowledge of the wood products and his willingness to answer all my questions. Even though I had some specific and unusual requests, he handled everything with patience and professionalism. His friendly attitude and attention to detail made my shopping experience at M. Fine Lumber an enjoyable experience and stress free. I purchase the wood from M. Fine Lumber Yard and took it somewhere else to get fabricated.
It is rare to come across someone who is both knowledgeable and so eager to assist and I believe Anil's effort are truly deserving of recognition. Thank you for employing such a dedicated and customer oriented - individual. I definitely would do business with M. Fine Lumber again in the future and I whole heartedly recommend M. Fine Lumber to others.

If you’re looking for reclaimed lumber there’s no better place around than M Fine. Meritt and Joe are always accommodating and willing to walk you through all their offerings. I enjoy my time there thoroughly. Even seeing their showroom and yard is worth the trip.
While my projects don’t often call for reclaimed lumber, I’m making an effort to change that, specifically so I can work the team at M Fine more in the future. Highly recommend!
Needed a small amount of reclaimed wood for a home project. They treated me seriously despite the small size of my requirements and we did a deal on some awesome wood that was ready to go same day.
I’m extremely disappointed with M Fine Lumber Brooklyn, NY. We’ve been waiting for a payment of $3,790 for freight services we completed nine months ago. Despite numerous attempts to resolve this issue, including follow-ups and discussions, the payment remains unsettled. We’ve even had to involve a legal firm to address the situation.
Based on my experience, I strongly advise against working with M fine lumber NY for any freight-related queries or services. Their lack of payment and poor communication have been incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. Save yourself the trouble and find a more reliable partner

If I could give lower than a 1 star.. I would. Let me start off by saying this company is FRAUDULENT! Do NOT order ANYTHING through them. Stay far away!
I ordered a beam for my house in March & I still do not have the beam, yet I am being charged for the full amount of $731.91! Wild right?
The story gets better... Ever since the day that my beam was promised to be delivered ( March 14 ) I have been calling & emailing this company nonstop. The receptionist was the only one to answer. It was very funny that the owner, Merritt Fine, was never in office or available to speak or answer my emails. However, initially he was available to answer my calls/emails to take my credit card information. On the original receipt he gave me it does NOT say non refundable. Every single time my husband or I called, (which was multiple times) the lady at front desk kept apologizing giving me every excuse in the book. One phone call she told me her workers were not showing up to work due to COVID. The next phone call she told me they lost the beam. Another time, they found the beam but it wasn't finished. Then there weren’t any delivery guys working. She couldn't give me a day that the beam would be delivered. I called other lumber yards in Brooklyn and Queens and all were working and running with workers despite the lockdown. Anyway, after days/weeks of this I decided to cancel my order and order from another lumber yard who was up and running. The receptionist told me, "I understand, we are sorry. Because our company was unable to fulfill your order we will refund you the full amount." Well, funny because they decided to still charge us for a product I never received. Once I realized this I called my credit card company and M Fine Lumbers nonstop to dispute this. My credit card company showed me the credit card receipt that M Fine Lumbers put in to dispute and they submitted false documents to my credit card company. The receipt they submitted has a different name on the original receipt, different date of purchase and a much higher price. I have called them multiple times and left multiple emails to Merritt. Still nothing. Recently, the receptionist told me Merritt is busy and can't speak with you but I am refunding you the full amount. More than 10 days passed and I never received the refund on my credit card.
Thankfully, I have a good credit card company that disputed this for the second time. In conclusion, stay far away from this company!!! They are SO unprofessional and fraudulent! This entire situation is unbelievable, but sadly true.
Asked for straight, planed and sized pieces of wood for built structures and they ship the pieces in pictures. Went at the shop asking my Money back and they didn’t give my money back! Such a shame, worst experience of my life!! Order of 40 pcs paid $700!!!
Went here in search of reclaimed lumber to make shelves for my apt. Couldn’t have asked for nicer people to help me find the perfect planks. Joe is a gem of a human being! Amazing selection and great prices. Thank you guys!

Merritt and Joe were fantastic. There selection is remarkable. They made shelves for my kitchen that get oohs and ahhs from everyone!! The exact sixe was not available, but they were able to configure the shelves and finish them so they were exactly waht I wanted. I have recommended them to everyone, looking for something special!!!!!
