What clients say about Crossroads Trading in Brooklyn (NY)

Brought two bags of clothes to Crossroads, including Zara and American Eagle jeans that I saw being sold in the store, but none of my items were accepted. I was told they were “summer clothes,” even though I didn’t bring any summer pieces. The experience felt inconsistent and, honestly, I left feeling a little off. As a Black person, I couldn’t help but feel like that may have played a role in how my items were evaluated. Overall, I was disappointed with the experience. Hire more knowledgeable employees, maybe your ratings will go up.

Loads of reviews from people complaining about wait times and that the buyers didn’t like their H and M or boohoo clothes. Grow up ? , this store has an excellent selection and minimal clutter compared to others. I love stopping in whenever I’m nearby. Got some great gear in here over the past 2 years. ?

As a seasoned veteran of buy, sell, trade venues i was expecting a fair deal on a high end item ( genuine mink fur mint condition.). Got lowballed but the surprisie was they refused several high end dresses. Their competition was more than happy to make a better deal.

First time seller here. Great employees & selections. But not thrift store price friendly, literally being sold in any other retail market. Now realizing I was not that pleased with my share, but I was in need. 5+ items for $40 is absurd & they were in style whatnot. If you’re going to resell used/donated items might as well give a fare realistic $hare. I should’ve known but again I was a newbie & in need. Beware.

A clean, organized thrift store with a HUGE selection. We spent a long time here and only sorted through half of the store. We came out with overflowing bags very pleased with our purchases. The prices are a steeper (average $15-$30) than your average goodwill or savers, but in exchange everything is tidy, in great condition, and stylish. The dressing room are neat and plentiful. Plus there seems to be no item limits, so try on as much as you like. There were a bunch of people working, so you never had to wait for a dressing room, to ask a question, pay, etc. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Yay Crossroads!

I tried multiple attempts to sell here. Including, like other reviewers, waiting a ridiculous amount of time while employees did everything but work. Spare me the 'we'll address this with store management' response because whatever you're doing, it's clearly not working.

These employees are lovely and personable! Shoutout Jer, Mai, Nico, and Tim for their kindness and compassion. The clothes here are EPIC and super sales! Everybody come on down to Crossroads Williamsburg.

Great for finding good buys. Selling policy has gone down hill over the years.

Great secondhand store with a huge selection and high-quality clothing. Everything is well organized and sorted by size, which makes browsing super easy. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended & def coming back!

This location is absolutely absurd. It’s not reasonable to be waiting 2.5 hours to sell items midday on a weekday mind you to only move from #13 to #4 on the list with no end in sight. Unlike the other locations you cannot enter the list online so you have no idea what you’re signing up for until you’ve slugged all your bags to the location. My advice: Take the L one more stop into manhattan and go to the East Village location and save yourself a headache. (you can also add yourself to the online queue for this one)

Stopped by the store after grabbing a matcha from Kijitora next door. I wasn't looking for anything in particular this day but I found a couple of cute items while in the store. It's fairly organized by size and style. I would come back to look around some more if I needed something in particular!

My experience is of sending items in not shopping in the store. I sent the bag that they sent out and it was filled to the top with items several Tory Burch, sandals, and shoes and lots of other items with the tag still on. Some of the Tory Burch sandals had barely been worn. I received $45 for the entire bag? That’s ridiculous. Many of the Tory Birch items were not even part of the purchase. Where did those items go? Donated? I don’t think so. We’ll never use the service again

I've been coming here to sell and shop for a long time. The selling experience has gotten worse and worse. Yesterday, they were understaffed so I waited about 3 hours for my clothes to be looked at. No AC in the store. Also, you can't sign in ahead of time on the app. Regardless of those things, I wouldn't be writing this if it wasn't for the workers behind the counter just laughing and playing with people's time. While I was waiting to sell, I heard one of the buyers say "I just make it up as I go, because who's going to stop me?" (In reference to what he prices clothes) And "I just ask AI 'what should I price this?'" Then when it was finally my turn to sell, the person went through my clothes and then just left. Left my bag on the counter, went to work on the register and then was gone. I was waiting the entire time. Probably was done in 10 minutes and I waited about 30 minutes, until I finally went up to the counter and one person whispered to another that the guy had left so someone else had to close me out. Rude, cocky, and just annoying to deal with after waiting for so long.

Ava, was clearly not an experienced buyer She initially passed on multiple items that I was selling, and her colleague “Captain Grace”, had to step in and call out that she should have selected MULTIPLE items that I was selling. She was not attentive while going through my items, continuously talking and holding entire conversations with others while doing so. It was not until I said something to her that another colleague stepped in to realize that she was missing the mark on the items I was selling. She seemed pretty upset that I called her out on it but accountability needed to be held. Advice to management: hire“buyers” who are experienced enough to understand that it’s not only efficiency but quality that’s needed for the job.

I’ve been here at least 20 times now and the selection is always great. The only downsides are a) the prices keep creeping up, though that’s probably not the store’s fault, and b) there is exactly one employee (usually works the dressing room area) who is friendly, kind, and not imposing. Addendum to the above: Honestly this one guy makes all the difference, especially given that the folks who work at Beacon’s and Buffalo Exchange are almost always standoffish and look at you like you’re the most inconvenient squandering of their attention when/if you ask question. It’s like that here too - maybe that’s just the nature of Fancy Thrifting - except for this one guy. If I ever get his name I’ll share it because I hope his good attitude and general kindness infect the rest of the employees. All in all, this is a decent spot.

Horrible, overpriced inventory. Really bad customer service for selling clothes, I watched the purchasers make fun of the clothes that someone had brought to sell. It took 2.5 hours to get my clothes looked at and there was only one other person in front of me when I dropped my clothes off. I’ve sold clothes at a bunch of other consignment stores and this was the worst experience I’ve had by a mile.

Update: unfortunately this place raised their prices. They are selling a lot of fast fashion like Zara $25+ & forever 21 for $20+ , selling fast fashion for above $20 is crazy to me! Especially “good” condition. Paid $22 for a well fitted “like new” princess polly dress, looked online & it was the same price on sale. Scuffed Zara shoes for $25, worn converse $30. Not a Salvation Army or goodwill. It’s a Williamsburg thrift. $15-50 basic price range. Average $20+ for a piece. It’s fun to look around but not a steal.

I went to this Crossroads Trading location earlier today. I had to sign in twice to sell clothes here, which was weird. I never did that before in any stores I sold in. The second employee to assist me was a White woman. I am assuming that she’s the manager. She makes me sign in again and tells me to comeback in 15 minutes. She’ll call me by then. Within 5 minutes, she calls me, and says “Sorry, we cannot take your items.” I said, “Sure thing.” Took my items and left. No explanation as to why my items weren’t able to sell. My family and I believe that it had to do with me selling women clothing and I am a man. Here’s the thing, the clothes I had with me were my younger sister. She gave me the authorization to sell on behalf of her. If that’s the case, then this woman’s assumption of me selling stolen clothes is inaccurate. Then, she was polite to the White lady before it was my turn. She even said a “Goodbye and have a good one!” I am not going to this location to sell again. I’ll make sure to tell my friends and family to do the same.

Love this place, constantly find top brands for practically nothing. Got a pair of Rag and Bone jeans for $30. One of the only major chains that actually organizes by size. Customer service is not the best but fine. If you're selling its crazy the rules they follow; I have gone first week of November only to hear "oh we would love to buy these but you've missed the winter window already we've got too much". Still love it though.
Jul 08, 2025 -
Weird how I wrote a review how the staff threw my dinner away while it was on the “leave here” table. And now it’s gone..anyways… the staff could care less about the customer experience. Why would you set up a table where customers can leave drinks/food only for the staff to throw your things away. Haven’t been back since due to lack of care

I warn you not to go to this place! I brought 3 bags worth of clothes to sell even if they are in style and good brands. But they won’t take any of the clothes I provided. I trekked to this place with 2 trains and these bags were heavy. I don’t understand how they won’t accept any of my nice dresses and jeans that don’t fit me anymore. I even brought a jacket that costs me $300 and this place is a JOKE and picky! Not your time traveling and waiting! Don’t go there to sell your clothes even if they are in style and season!

6 people behind the register - everyone just talking, took 15min to pay for a single item with no one else in line. Why are there so many people behind the register with zero effort towards customer service? Decent product selection / inventory, but customer service was horrible.

This is my go-to spot for finding stylish items at amazing prices and selling my carefully selected clothes. Just a heads-up: they prefer seasonal clothing, so if your pieces aren't in season, they might not accept them. The good news is you can bring them back when the time is right. Leather goods are an exception, as they're always popular. I’ve always had a great experience here, and the customer service is top-notch!

Great place. I love the neighborhood! Many cool thrift shops and eats. Very professional. Went to sell some items, and it was definitely worth my trip ?. Super easy sign in, and not a long wait. Parking is a bit challenging, but I had someone wait outside. The whole transaction (sign in, wait,& payout) took about 1 hour. Staff is nice and they work fast. Thanks again Crossroads for a great experience- see you soon?

selling experience: reading all these mixed reviews i was kind of confused if to go to the store, but i still decided to. it's way better to come in the mornings on weekdays, even though i came at around 12 on thursday i still had to wait for an hour or so to be done. when you come in, there's a gadget where you sign in with your name so now you are in the line. people come with lots of stuff, like suitcases and big bags. there are a few benches so usually you're able to take a seat. then you leave your clothes with an employee (mine was really nice and polite, i don't remember the name but they went to school in the Czech Republic) you wait for a while and they call you again and give the stuff and they didn't take if there's any and say how much you have in-store credit or you can take cash. if you have an in-store credit, you can withdraw your cash later. you can spend it in any of their stores and it's connected with your phone number. overall the experience was nice. the place is not stinky, clean, but the employees are a little slow with their work, constantly chatting and it doesn't really help the line. i don't blame them but you should consider that the process is not so quick. i think four stars is a good rating

My go-to thrift store in the neighborhood. I’m always sure to find at least 1 item in this specific crossroads trading location. Great brands, clothes are in good condition, some are even new with tags. Pricing is fair, definitely not your sub $10 location but I find it’s the price to pay for the curation. I’m usually able to browse - try on - buy - and leave within 30min. They have an amazing selection of maxi dresses in all sizes at the moment!

The store has a great selection of clothes! There are a lot of brand names and that does impact the price which is high. If you want to sell your items, it will be great to become familiar with what the trends are for that area before organizing the clothes you have to sell.

Better selection of clothing than the other resell stores in neighborhood. Love that the merchandise isn’t packed into the racks, makes for easier shopping. Cute vintage pieces peppered in and some midrange designer brands.
Feb 03, 2022 -
Disrespectful, rude off putting towards customers. When asking simple customer questions. When shopping here you can't have less then 2 masks and no breathing room on the face. They also discriminate against people with disabilities and color even going out of their way to be less helpful to you. They charge high prices for very worn out clothing and even stamp a surcharge on all items you buy. I definitely don't recommend this place for shopping as a thrift store.
