Amazing staff super friendly guy named Sami, amazing shop.

Stay away. Would give a zero if I could. Not helpful and don't stand behind their products. Bought a shovel to dig out my car after the snow storm. They were out of most things but pointed me to the two they had in the store. Within 5 minutes the handle shattered. Took back and told me it wasn't intended for the purpose. Same people who had pointed me to it not 10 min before. No offer of a refund, just an exchange for another of the same that I expect would have also shattered 5 min later Have had middling/unhelpful experiences in the past from many of the same individuals, but it's close to home for the few times a year I need a HW store. Never going back.

Been coming to Do It Best for years, both for personal and business purposes. The team is knowledgeable and friendly, the store well-stocked across departments, and the prices fair. Highly recommend!

Super friendly staff! Walid was absolutely amazing. Our conversation was just as helpful as it was enjoyable. He kindly answered all my questions about painting and even took the time to teach me how to paint the wall. I felt like I was talking to my own uncle, even though we had just met. This is one of those rare, old-fashioned family hardware stores where you get fair pricing along with genuine, community-style support. A real gem!

Incredible experience here- I came in 15 minutes before closing to buy 8 gallons of paint and the stayed open late to get it done for me! Not only that, they helped carry it to my car. Thank you all so much- top notch service, will definitely be back

they really do “do it best” here! I’ve lived in the neighborhood for years and come here for everything— renting tools, buying hardware, lightbulbs, paint, stain, key fob copy, soil, seltzer co2 refill, and more. Everyone is happy to answer my questions and help when I need it. Love this place!

I try to shop local but this play was way OVERPRICED. Came here for moving supplies, XL cardboard boxes were $8 EACH. Smallest boxes were still $4. Ended up buying two and scavenging for the rest outside of restaurants. Just go to Home Depot and get them for a buck each.

The best hardware store! Surprisingly endless supply of things for home improvement and has some general home goods as well. The staff are always kind and very helpful

My family purchased some small items from the owner of Do It Best. He gave us 1 that was the proper size and the rest that were similar but the wrong size and simply a different product. We had to return to the store to exchange it once we realized the problem. At that point he refused to straight exchange and wanted us to pay extra/more for the correct items. It was rather odd since the owner was the one who rang us up and handed us the wrong items in the first place. Ideal customer service would be to acknowledge you made a mistake, apologize, and hand the customer the new items rather than insist on extra payment and rely on "that's store policy" to rebuff the customer.

Had to modify some ill-fitting guitar parts and they were very kind to lend me an adjustable wrench and pliers so I could adjust the items I purchased in the store without having to buy those tools.

I needed to repaint my living room and they helped me find the exact matching color for my room. Very good customer service and a large selection of paint.

So helpful and friendly, always treat me with respect (vs. some hardware stores who assume I don’t know anything bc I’m a woman), even my dog loves going there. Great selection neatly organized. Clean and easy to find everything. Also they often have unexpectedly good playlists going!

Ordered on-line ten large bags of Coast-of-Maine Organic Soil Mix and, to save a couple of hundred dollars in shipping fees, I requested "Ship-to-Store", which is FREE! They said to expect it next Tuesday, but they arrived this Friday, four days EARLY! The store, at 900 Fulton Ave, Brooklyn, is very large, well stocked, clean & orderly, and the staff is professional, knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Picking up the order was quick & easy; they provided a cart to take it to the car. I will definitely be returning to thoroughly and leisurely peruse the store and all of what it has to offer. They, absolutely, "Do-It-Best" ! ! !

My wife and I were in need of a Christmas Tree and this hardware store had a very nice display tree. We asked the advice of the employee if they had any trees that would look like that one for sale. He responded that one if the trees that they already had wrapped up was the same type of tree but would take some time to settle before it looked like the display one. Fast forward a week, the tree has lost most of its pine leaves and never "settled". We saw other ones that were not tied up that looked much better than this one turned out, but regretfully took the employee's advice that the one sold to us would look best. I have always had real trees for Christmas, so it’s not a case of not taking care of the tree. It was basically dead and raggedy to begin with. My wife went by today to ask for a replacement as the tree that was sold to us was unacceptable. The employee there asked: "so why didn't you bring it back?" She let him know that a store employee told us it would take time for the branches to come down to their settling state, which never happened. The employee replied, while his voice was getting louder and angered "Once you open it that’s it. Nothing we can do. The same way you bought it from us is the same way we bought it from the vendor." Basically, they sold us a tree with totally different information than what my wife said when she went back. They were two different employees to be clear, but still, the store scammed us and didn't offer any type of help. The worst $108.88 that I ever spent!

Friendliest and most helpful hardware store in Brooklyn. The staff in here always say hello and will help you out with anything you need. They have a vast range of products and the store is super clean. They have helped me out with so many things over the years, even cutting wood to size. Support your local hardware store!

My first time going to a real hardware store. Very helpful, knowledgeable and impressive customer service. I can honestly say that as a woman, I felt very comfortable being there. I'm not the most hands on person, but in all honesty, it was an amazing experience. I can't wait to go back. I'm not too fond of franchises such as the big name ones (HD AND L'S, everyone knows what I'm talking about). I would rather support these businesses, who have employees who go above and beyond for their customers.

I am amazed at how much is packed into this store, and yet it's all very well organized and doesn't feel crowded. So happy to have it in the neighborhood! Instead of having to drive to Home Depot, I can get 99% of what I routinely need for DIY projects just a few blocks away. And they're nice people.

Sweet and knowledgeable staff; they are always accommodating and so helpful! The store is always well-stocked and clean. Recently I bought a couple of indoor plants here and I’m so impressed by the quality.
