MTA Coney Island Yard in
Brooklyn (NY)

My family and I have taken the N or the D train to coney island and on left side of the view is the yard and saw many trains parked there because it was the weekend. Also, it is one of the largest in North America and the largest in New York City's MTA subway system, covering 74 acres and capable of storing a large number of subway cars.

If you're a fan of trains etc etc look for the TWU100 sponsored family and friends day.

This place is big! I'm not sure if it's larger than the other yard in Jamaica, Queens? But it looks to be larger than the other I've seen. It's definitely larger than the 2 that were built above. First 1 that I know of is Brooklyn, Atlantic Ave. Barkley Center, & the 2nd in Manhattan on West 34th St. If u didn't already know that there's a yard there? You wouldn't know by looking around.

I see this all the time from the belt parkway, does the MTA do tours here?

Cool place full of fascinating trains & equipment, where they are stored & repaired.

Nice large lunchroom big refrigerators and TV’s.

I am a disabled person, this morning around 1125 am I was waiting for the b3 bus at ocean Ave and Ave U the driver on the bus stop and pick up a passenger and leave me outside the bus number is B3 7556, I want this to be investate asap I am wheelchair bound today is the 3/10/22

Big train station, has Dunkin', Subway available before heading out. The Q,R,F,and i think the N train stop there (if not mistaken). Very calming and beautiful scenery upstairs while the trains are arriving. Most of what used to be there took a whole 360° turn for the best.

Every D train going into stillwell stops here everyday so I have very vast knowledge of this place

When I come back home at Coney Island I take the N Train, I always see the Coney Island Yard, It is so huge, but I want the R160s back, I think the R46 is the worst Subway car in MTA History.

I can spot trains that are rare. Found a pair of pre-goh r42 lying in it in 2021! It was scrolled on Q train

Coney Island Yard is home for the R46s, R68s, R68As, and R160s that assigned on the B, D, G, N, Q, W, and the Franklin Avenue Shuttle trains. The largest yard on the MTA. R160s on the F and R trains are also stored here as well.

This is where I report daily for indentured servitude. There are tracks. On those tracks are different trains. In those trains are the hardest working men and women in NYC. They are also the least appreciated. Their employer could care less whether they live or die. Be nice to a transit worker should you encounter one.

I like the trains so I like to hang out at the train yard sometimes. This is like the biggest train yard ever located in the Coney Island Brooklyn. Years ago you could get a good view of it from the Belt Parkway but after the new construction you have be up higher to see anything... Best if you ride the Subway train to Coney island and enjoy one of the worlds best hot dogs at Nathan's. This is the original and by far the very best hot dog in new York ....

Not much to tell you. It's a train yard. Quite large. Trains from many lines are stored and serviced here including from the N,D,F,Q, and B lines. There are also work trains here and snow fighting equipment trains. A training facility for employees is also present as well as an indoor NYPD shooting range.

If you need a place to park your train then this is your spot! It's a rail yard not too much else to say.

Every time I’m traveling with the N back and forth from coney island I see all of these trains parked up here with nothing to do.MTA You are slacking!!
