What clients say about Grand Central in New York (NY)

This has been the station I’ve used for years as my main connection between home and the city. Even though it’s a hub for both locals and tourists, from my perspective as a local, I still find it beautiful, especially from an architectural point of view. It’s full of history and there’s always so much going on: people arriving, leaving, tourists, commuters… and I love that. It captures the magic of New York’s diversity. Trains run frequently, and you can easily catch the line that suits your destination. Ticket prices vary, but I recommend downloading the MTA app to check schedules and buy tickets online. You can also get them at the booths, which it’s a bit old-school, but it has its charm (I used to do that a lot back when I was in school). What I love most is the art deco style, it reflects the elegance that made early 20th-century New York so iconic. The restrooms are usually clean, there are quick bites available if you’re in a hurry, and the self-service machines are convenient. Overall, it’s an efficient, accessible terminal and I truly love it.

After struggling to find the entrance, I finally got in through The MetLife Building and it was so glorious! The terminal was a bit busy as it was around the 9am rush hour but it wasn’t too bad as long as you got out of the way of the commuters.

Cool, historic place to visit or travel to. Unreal what they built 100 years ago.
Feb 23, 2026 -
A decent place to visit, offering a very spacious interior, though it can be quite crowded at times. I especially appreciated the impressive American flag hanging from the ceiling, which adds a distinctive and memorable touch to the atmosphere.

The architecture and the main concourse of the Grand Central Terminal are stunning in person. There’s a great energy with people coming and going, and the food and shops inside add to the experience.

Grand Central Terminal is An Architectural & Transit Icon! Grand Central Terminal is a breathtaking masterpiece of architecture and a must-visit in NYC. From the outside, the massive Tiffany clock—the largest Tiffany glass work in the world—and the Transportation Statue featuring Mercury, Hercules, and Minerva are stunning sights to see before you even walk through the doors. Inside, the famous celestial ceiling and the opal clock make even a simple commute feel like a trip back in time. The layout is remarkably user-friendly and easy to navigate with clear, efficient signage for all travelers. Transit Hub: This is a truly central connection point. It seamlessly links the Metro-North, the NYC Subway (4, 5, 6, 7, and S lines), and now the LIRR via the new Grand Central Madison concourse. Note: While NJ Transit doesn't run directly here, it's a quick subway or shuttle ride away at Penn Station. Pro Tip: Don’t miss the Whispering Gallery or a meal at the Oyster Bar for the full experience. Dining & Shopping: The Dining Concourse and Grand Central Market offer excellent food options for a quick bite or a gourmet find. Accessibility: The station is designed for a smooth flow even during the busiest rush hours, with accessible elevators and clear paths between levels.

I grew up in nyc all of my life and this experience left in me in awe. Wow its not only beautiful but very busy with people walking to their destinations and shopping places that's convenient, if u can afford it. But I was totally mesmerized by the decor and marble. And it led to the LIRR, metro, trains.

This place is big! It’s amazing to see that it’s lasted as long as it has. Amazing architecture in details are everywhere. It’s very easy to get lost trying to find the train station that you’re supposed to be at, considering the person I was with who actually lives there couldn’t even figure it out. Tons and tons of shopping available lots of restaurants. We elected to eat at the pizzeria and found it to be really reasonably priced as well as pretty darn good pizza. We walked outside of the station for a few minutes and got a big view of downtown and all of the massive skyscrapers in the area. I wish I had more time to walk around and explore, but I did not.

Since 1913 this iconic Nee York City place charmed tourists and locals with its grandeur. A quintessential NYC landmark. Tons of eateries and little boutiques. Definitely worth at least a visit if you are in town with some time and appetite. Check out lower level a food concourse with lots of delicious choices.

As a tourist visiting New York City, Grand Central Station was my favorite building. You could see and feel the history of the building. The best part about being inside the station is thinking about how important it was to building the city and how it currently helps facilitate so much of the business in the city. Also, it is amazing to think about the important people from history who have set foot in the same location! Highly recommend as a stop touring the city!

Such an iconic building. I have visited this place so many times and every time I visit I find a new part I wasn't even aware of, I did take the LIRR which was a really nice experience but this station has so many levels, easy to navigate but just when you think you've explored it another floor appears but that aside there is something so special and unique about this place that one visit just isn't enough

The place is beautiful, but always crowded and noisy!! It's worth the trip and lots of cool photos.

Iconic landmark with stunning architecture Grand Central Terminal is not just a train station but a New York City icon. The main concourse is breathtaking with its celestial ceiling mural, elegant arches, and constant energy. The Whispering Gallery is a fun hidden gem where you can test the acoustics. There are also plenty of shops, restaurants, and the Grand Central Market for local treats. Despite the crowds, it’s worth visiting to admire the architecture and soak in the history.

If you know you know this is where the opening scene for the first episode of gossip girl filmed. It is the most gorgeous train station I’ve ever seen and is so clean and tidy. There is lots of variety of food and retail shops available and even a little sports section it entertain yourself. It is truly an amazing train station and it’s so appealing to the eye. There’s also so nice to re-enact the classic Photo of Serena Vander Woodson. 🤭🤍🫶🏼

Grand Central Terminal is far more than just a train station – it’s a true New York landmark and a must-see for any visitor to the city. As one of the busiest transport hubs in the world, the constant movement of people adds a sense of energy and urgency that’s uniquely New York. Despite the crowds, the atmosphere is captivating and full of character. What really makes Grand Central stand out is its breathtaking architecture. From the celestial ceiling of the Main Concourse to the grand arched windows and marble staircases, every detail is a testament to American ambition and craftsmanship. It’s a space that reflects the era when the United States was building not just infrastructure, but a global legacy of power and progress. Walking through Grand Central gives you a real sense of history and purpose – it’s both a functional space and a symbol of what America once set out to achieve. A perfect blend of beauty, scale, and purpose. Definitely worth visiting, even if you’re not catching a train.

I had to check out the newer terminal and the concourse is gorgeous. Roomy and vibrant. Classy place to travel into. Shopping and food galore as well. And if you like adventures, check out the Campbell Apartments and a special surprise...shhhh iykyk. Tell em Barsnobs sent ya!

As a NYC wedding, elopement, and engagement photographer, I highly recommend having your photos taken at Grand Central Terminal! Such incredible architecture that makes for the perfect backdrop for your special day.

Grand Central Terminal is the third busiest train station in North America, behind New York’s Pennsylvania Station and Toronto’s Union Station. The unique architecture and interior design of the Grand Central Station have been designated several landmarks, including a National Historic Landmark. The Beaux-Arts style design is reflected in numerous works of art. In the center of the concourse is the information booth, which features a brass clock on all four sides, one of Grand Central’s most recognizable symbols. As old as the station is, it is a place of enormous construction cost and engineering excellence. Grand Central is one of the busiest train stations in the world, with approximately 750,000 visitors per day. A must-see on any Grand Central tour is the $20 million opaline clock above the information booth. Grand Central Terminal is one of the top 10 most visited tourist attractions in the world, and the main concourse of the terminal is often used as a meeting place, especially in movies and on TV. Grand Central Terminal was designed and built with two main levels for passengers: the upper level for intercity trains and the lower level for commuter trains. Grant Central Terminal was originally named after the New York Central Railroad, which operated from 1900 to 1910. The current new terminal was built from 2007 to 2023. The constellations are embroidered on the ceiling of the constellations, and sometimes you can see cute scenes of children lying on the floor and looking at the constellations embroidered on the ceiling. The doors leading into the terminal from 42nd Street show traces of its long history. Note: Beaux-Arts architecture was an academic architectural style taught at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris from the 1830s to the late 19th century. It was based on the principles of French neoclassicism, incorporating elements of the Renaissance and Baroque styles, and using modern materials such as iron, glass, and later steel. It was an important style and had a huge influence on institutions and public buildings, especially in Europe and the United States, from the late 19th century to the 20th century.

Today after a long walk around midtown, I passed thru Grand Central to admire the beautiful building from the inside. I entered from the north at 48th street and walked thru another building to finally enter GC. It is fantastic to look at. Not too busy today around 230 pm. Beautiful to see.

Giant classical train station connecting train and subway and bus lines in the city. Love the design. Lots of corridors and areas to get around to different spaces. They also have a food court in the basement. Above the tour, if you get it, you can walk through the halls and glass walkways. Giant lit ceiling of stars, constellations, and a light show during some holidays.

Grand Central Terminal is absolutely breathtaking! From the stunning architecture and the celestial ceiling in the main concourse to the constant energy and movement, it's a true New York City landmark. Whether you're catching a train, grabbing a bite, or just exploring, there's something magical about this place. The mix of history, elegance, and hustle makes it feel like you're in the heart of the city. A must-visit spot, even if you're not traveling!

I’m so in love with this place. It’s not just a terminal—it feels like a hidden gem in the middle of the city. The atmosphere is so relaxing, especially if you take a moment to just sit and take it all in. The architecture, the people-watching, the little shops and cafés—it all feels magical. The lake is absolutely amazing! So peaceful and beautiful—it’s the perfect spot to unwind and just enjoy nature. One of my favorite spots to slow down and just enjoy being in New York.

Ah, finally, I arrived in this terminal. I'm from Indonesia, the other side of the USA. It's a Great looking terminal. It looks clean. There are many subway track underground. Many convenient stores, too. Pro tips, gps won't work accurately in this area due to high building or underground, always download offline maps sometimes it can help you go around the area. Do not trust the gps.

An Icon of Timeless New York: Grand Central Terminal Grand Central Terminal is a cultural, historical, and architectural masterpiece in addition to being a transportation hub. This famous landmark, which is in the center of Manhattan, has captivated tourists for more than a century with its exquisite Beaux-Arts architecture, minute details, and lively ambiance. The Main Concourse, with its celestial ceiling mural that depicts a starry night sky, greets you as soon as you enter. The terminal is flooded with natural light from the enormous arched windows, and the lavish chandeliers lend a touch of refinement. A timeless gathering place and must-see is the renowned four-faced clock in the middle of the concourse. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, Grand Central is a thriving transportation center that effectively serves commuters with buses, subway lines, and Metro-North trains. The terminal is a pleasure to explore because it retains its grandeur and nostalgic feel despite the continuous movement. One of the highlights is the Whispering Gallery, which is close to the Oyster Bar and features an intriguing acoustic trick that lets visitors hear whispers coming from the other side of the arch. In addition, the terminal has a number of upscale stores, bakeries, and eateries, such as the well-known Grand Central Oyster Bar, which has been serving fresh seafood since 1913. Grand Central Terminal never lets you down, whether you're interested in architecture, history, or just want to feel a little bit of New York's charm. It offers a gateway to the city as well as a destination in and of itself, skillfully fusing elegance and functionality. A trip to New York wouldn't be complete without experiencing the enchantment of this iconic site. Strongly advised!

Grand Central Terminal is truly an iconic gem in New York City! The architecture is stunning, and the main concourse is absolutely breathtaking with its high ceilings and famous clock. The atmosphere is always buzzing with energy, and it’s a perfect blend of historic charm and modern functionality. The variety of shops, restaurants, and even the grand food court make it not just a transit hub, but a place to explore. Whether you’re just passing through or taking time to admire the building, Grand Central never disappoints. It’s a must-visit spot if you’re in the city!

Besides the architecture, the engineering to make this building possible, boggles the mind. I could not figure out how many levels and tracks come into an underground switch yard. Gorgeous building, so much to see with clean Rest Rooms and good dining options. We passed through a couple of times, and all the employees were extremely helpful guiding us to the right track. Even if you are not taking a train or subway, step inside and see it for yourself, truly amazing.

Surprisingly super clean!! I had to kill a couple of hours between meetings and this was the perfect spot. It’s hard to find chairs but if u wait long enough you’ll spot a couple after a group leaves. There’re many choices for a quick bite/coffee/snacks. Really cool to people watch as well. Diverse mix of people including locals, tourists and people just passing by. Definitely a good spot to meet up when you’re from out of town as well before moving to a different spot.

Grand Central Terminal is a majestic architectural masterpiece that transcends mere functionality. Its iconic celestial ceiling, adorned with constellations, mesmerizes visitors as they traverse the bustling main concourse. The historic charm is palpable, from the iconic information booth to the whispering gallery. Beyond its role as a transportation hub, the terminal offers a diverse array of dining options, upscale shopping, and cultural experiences. Navigating the labyrinthine corridors reveals hidden gems, adding to the sense of discovery. Grand Central Terminal is not merely a transit point; it's a destination that seamlessly blends history, elegance, and contemporary allure, making it a must-visit landmark in the heart of New York City.

On screen, you've seen Grand Central Terminal in dozens (if not hundreds) of movies & TV appearances. But seeing this historical building in person is well worth a visit. I love the soaring, vaulted ceilings with the starry constellation painted above. And the (reportedly) $20 million opal glass clock sitting quietly atop the circular Information Booth. And the marble staircases, and the chandeliers, and the kinetic energy of scurrying commuters coming & going. New York really knows how to put the "Grand" into their "Central Terminal"!
