What clients say about Microsoft Experience Center in New York (NY)

Joe helped me with purchasing a new surface laptop. He was very professional and knowledgeable throughout the initial setup and installation process.
The store was clean and well-maintained. Overall it was a great experience!Jan 14, 2026 -
I went to the centre this time to get my Laptop fixed. At the Centre sales Rep- Jevon G was very friendly. He listened to my problems and handled it very patiently. My keypad was under warranty and it took me under 30mins to have it replaced. I would recommend him my go person. Thank you once again

The Microsoft store is really nice. The staff was very friendly and it was cool seeing all the new latest products they have. We really enjoyed the gaming floor on the second floor where we’re able to see the history of the Xbox and a little Stranger Things experience, we were able to ride the Microsoft flight simulator, which was a helicopter ride through Hawkins. It was all really cool and we had a great time. I would recommend visiting if you have a few minutes to spare.

If you’re walking down 5th Avenue, definitely pop into the Microsoft Experience Center. It’s way more than just a retail store; it’s an interactive showcase. The first floor is great for productivity tech, but the second floor is the real highlight with an awesome gaming lounge. It’s a fun, free way to experience some of the coolest gadgets in the city.

Fashioned like Apple store. Similar service and convenience. Purchased my laptop and quite gappy with a rep..

Calling Customer Service SUCKS! I called 3x. The last agent was at least able to give me the information I needed, but did not provide further assistance with trying to get a replacement keyboard. Three calls disconnected with no callback! A waste of of time

Friendly, beautiful, amazing staff. So many options, literally couldn't choose! Y'all are amazing.
Couldn't be better than this, honestly. Bought an Arc mouse there and it was quick, easy, and I guess you can say it was an experience at the Experience Center
Keep doing what you do best. Mwah!Nov 24, 2025 -
It’s fun looking at all the computers and staff is helpful, store changes from time to time, which is nice but unfortunately, both times I was here (November 2024 and October 2025) they had the whole upstairs closed for renovation.

Many many thanks to Kevin for his fast help when my laptop died and I need another quickly. He completely understood the assignment and got me the color and unit I needed, made sure it would work for my job and took care of it quickly. I would absolutely visit this place again- hopefully with more time! Ps the purple looks blue in the lighting but is so beautiful once you get it outside.

I visited the Microsoft Store today to return my Surface, and although there was a system issue that caused a delay, the staff handled it with grace and professionalism. Everyone involved apologized sincerely multiple times, which already showed great customer care.
But what truly blew me away was what happened next—they handed me a bag full of gifts as a thank-you for my patience! That kind of thoughtful gesture is something I’ve never experienced before. It turned a minor inconvenience into a moment I’ll remember for a long time.
Thank you, Microsoft Store team—you’re the best. Every time I come to you, I leave impressed and grateful!Aug 22, 2025 -
Cannot say enough good things about this place. Colin, the tech support person, was highly experienced and skilled...and spent time patiently answering my questions and helping me solve my tech problem. Professional environment that inspires confidence and trust.

The Microsoft Experience Center on 5th Avenue is a great little stop if you’re in NYC! I recently visited and had a fun time testing out some Xbox systems and games on the second floor—completely free, which was a nice surprise. While it’s a bummer that the McLaren Forza driving experience is no longer there, it was still a cool, laid-back way to spend some free time. Definitely worth a visit!

Very knowledgeable staff. They can answer all your questions without being to pushy. They even recommended other products so you know they aren't trying to upsell you on anything.
Chill atmosphere with all their products on display. Seating areas as well.
Upstairs is a game area. They have all the Xbox's on display and can play some of them on the wall. There is a row of PCs that have games on them as well. If you go in the middle of the day, there is no crowd and can play as much as you want.Feb 21, 2025 -
I had the privilege of visiting the Microsoft Experience Center on 5th Avenue in New York City today, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Mr. Kai and Mrs. Janey for their exceptional hospitality, professionalism, and expertise.
The space is incredibly well-designed, showcasing Microsoft's cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions in an interactive and immersive environment. The team took the time to walk me through various offerings, answer my questions, and provide insights tailored to my interests and industry.
Mr. Kai's in-depth knowledge and enthusiasm were truly inspiring, while Mrs. Janey’s attention to detail and warm approach made the visit both productive and enjoyable.
This visit reaffirmed Microsoft's commitment to empowering individuals and businesses with technology. I highly recommend stopping by the Microsoft Experience Center to anyone who wants to stay ahead of the curve in today’s tech-driven world.
Thank you again, Mr. Kai and Mrs. Janey, for making this visit so memorable!Jan 18, 2025 -
Met Cuame and other girl - forgot ask name.
We had awesome long conversation with Cuame about the history of Microsoft.
A1 customer services skilled. Even IT field changing now, still have people like him want to teach public.
Thank you.Dec 29, 2024 -
This is the best Microsoft store I’ve ever visited! It’s more than just a place to buy products—it’s an experience center where you can try everything hands-on. The staff are all friendly and kind. I highly recommend a visit!

When you arrive at the store at 12.15, and the apology sign indicates it will open an hour late... 15 mins ago. I looked at the sad people waiting outside as I loudly rattled the doors. A security person stepped forward and a bounced something in my direction at the closed doors. I pushed my ear against the Crack between the door and asked the guard to speak up because I couldn't hear them. They opened the door and said it would be another 45 mins before they opened. I thanked them for this information and heard the disgruntled listeners talk of thier Ling journeys to get to the store and thoer long wait.
I returned an hour later. I had $1000 to spend and one problem to solve before I would part with the cash. An hour later, frustrated, I walked out of the store because there is only so much condescention an old lady who worked on the windows Shell team can take in one sitting.
I suspect the staff there must have a horrible experience. Microsoft may have lost a subscribing customer because they don't treat thier front of house staff well.
Making snide comments about Apple and Google is not a good look. Failing to uncover the details of my problem, was not a good look. Not recognising that parting with $1000 for a computer is a journey that should be treated woth respect and ceremony is not a good look.
Laughing at my 10 year old Sirface Pro is not a good look. Saying you don't trade in old computers, is not a good look.
I won't be back. I'll probably buy a chrome book and move my o drive content thier and end my subscription to Microsoft. I don't need it or them. My next trip will be to a chromebook outlet.Apr 09, 2024 -
An absolute must for car enthusiasts! I arrived pretty early on a Saturday morning and there was no line for the forza simulator. Such a fun experience (and a super aesthetic photo spot)!
Feb 07, 2023 -
This store is not given nearly enough credit for how awesome it consistantly is.
It's basically a big gaming store, with the 3rd floor always having something awesome on it.
From high end PC gaming setups to VR experiences you never know what you will find in here. And the staff is always happy to show it off.
The last time they had an actual McLaren in there that had been converted to simulate driving it while you play Forza Horizon 5. The car even shifted around as you "drove". I can't imagine what it cost just to get the thing in there, let alone to convert an actual McLaren into basically the worlds most expensive gaming chair.
Oh and all the experiences and demos are free. This really is a hidden gem on 5th Ave. You can buy controllers and xbox stuff if you want, but the real attraction is the stuff most normal people could never afford.Sep 05, 2022 -
This place is the best. You walk in first floor is for products and product repair. The second floor is a McLaren experience that is out of this world and the people working there were so super nice if I could give them 10 Stars I would. The next floor is the gaming center which is also very cool and highly recommend it. I had just left the Apple Store and this hands down is 10 times the experience and the people were super nice and helpful we ended up spending over an hour just hanging out because it was such a cool place. The pictures that I uploaded and the video speak volumes about the experience versus what I'm typing here. I would not hesitate come in and experience this place

1/5/22. Just decided to stop in 2 c what it was. I was met by ???? Who asked ? What brought to the Microsoft Experience! I told him Christmas was over and I needed a new surge! He laughed and took me on a tour! I asked him what do they have for older p people trying to catch up? He showed me a help page with his picture. Wow he was really down with the business! Great visit. Will return!!
Jan 06, 2022 -
The Microsoft Experience Center was a very cool space with display units of all of the modern Microsoft products and accessories. The design of the store is phenomenal and very modern and clean. The third floor is set up like a gaming room with a dark gaming ambiance and atmosphere.
I was able to get the new Xbox without any issues and the associates I worked with were very helpful and personable. I was in a rush but I would love to come visit again and really explore the display areas and merchandise.
It's definitely worth checking out even if you weren't planning to buy anything!Sep 14, 2021 -
This place had 7 floor with tour every hour to their upper level. They have all the new product here for testing. Floor 1-3 have ton of space to check out This store have staff to help everything that you will need to get set up for VR and other new product. Will go back again next time in the area.
Great place to go to spend some free time.
As with covid-19 there are a lot of changr that is happening. I would like to take this time to update the below info.
2020 update:
This Microsoft Store location is currently closed until further notice. We know families, remote workers and businesses are under unique pressure at this time so we are still here to serve you with virtual workshops, trainings and products available on Microsoft.com or you can contact us for help.
Please keep following for future update.Oct 23, 2020 -
Their support staff were phenomenal. I received excellent support from Jefferson an microsoft support staff. The place stocks up well on accessories. When I was there, there were some training sessions going on. I think these are free for kids to pick up IT skills. Also the gaming section looked interesting.
All in all well done Microsoft. You got a loyal customer now thanks to the outstanding customer service I received.Jan 11, 2020 -
Extremely overpriced notebook- (surface pro) and desktop computers (surface studio) in a "faux Apple" store without working water fountain
The aesthetic is shamelessly copied from Microsoft's competitor a few blocks north: white walls, bright wood, oversized dining room tables, lots of glass and glass stairs. Do all the worshippers in this open access cathedral realize that the overpriced electronics pay for the aesthetic experience of the store.
Apple genius bar, excuse me bar with Microsoft techies on second floor. Dark gaming den on third floor: this apparently is the future - forget about Central Park and shut out Fifth Avenue. Who needs that now that we have gone bonkers ... ahem, virtual?May 21, 2019 -
Microsoft has done a wonderful job setting up this flagship store on Fifth Avenue. This 3-story building features everything that Microsoft makes and also offers great in-person support for those that may need a little extra help with their Microsoft devices. For those that are undecided about whether or not to purchase a Microsoft device, there are plenty of demo models to play with to help with your decision-making process. The employees are all extremely helpful and there is rarely a crowd at the store.
Jan 25, 2019 -
Really nice and fun store to be in. Each floor has different themes and it’s really really fun to be in. I recommend to everyone. The only thing I didn’t like was that the employees upstairs assumed I wasn’t 18+ to play the VR fallout game. Had to give my ID to prove my age but overall things were fine. Employees could be rude at times though. But overall alright experience.
Nov 10, 2018 -
I absolutely love this place! They have classes for the kids and often give away free products. They truly want you to be their loyal customers and they work to establish that connection from early on. I will definitely be going back! They are awesome!
