Worst Whole Foods in NY….I went on Thursday Feb 12th, around 12:20ish to get a warm matcha latte….there was a black girl and light skin guy working, the black girl said the lady who knows how to make matcha is on break for 45 minutes…mind you i’m visiting from Florida. Okay….so then I asked for a hot chocolate….she proceeds to tell me they are out of hot chocolate….ummm ok. So I asked if they had tea…I just wanted a hot tea for the subway ride home, she says yes, I ask which flavors they had if they had green tea she pointed me to the sign, I needed 15 seconds to pick a flavor, while I’m going to do that, she proceeds to take the person behind me…..so after Y’all didn’t have anything I’m suppose to wait LONGER after the next person to give yall my hard earned money in this economy? The devil isn’t a liar if that’s the case! I also asked if they had outlets to charge my phone, she said no, I understand that but sis I said I was from out of town, it takes nothing but customer service, kindness, and Imaging if the roles were reversed or if it was their mother or daughter to have said, there is charge to pay stations near by, a target near by, anything considering I waited in line and they didn’t have anything I wanted. Nevertheless when I saw they were still taking orders and didn’t give me 15 seconds to look at the tea I left, why do I have to wait because y’all don’t have nothing.
Lastly, they shouldn’t be working there or train them….every employee should know how to make everything on that menu….unless they are cashiers only, which I never seen a cafe operate in that manner. Even every barista at Wawa….a freaking gas station is trained to make everything….im telling everyone I know. There are so many people seeking jobs who know how to make everything and they need work. Consider hiring those people who will be passionate about their job and they know what they are doing, they have the yearning and willingness to learn. No way would I sit there on a job telling customers only one person know how to do it repeatedly, I seek to learn and understand why I wasn’t taught when it’s in my job description. Some internal investigations need to be done asap please and consider hiring real baristas…..
Otherwise they are fake and just need a paycheck at the bare minimum. What do Whole Foods pay their baristas for? To be half knowledgeable? Matcha isn’t hard to make and it took everything in me to not say if you give it to me for free I’ll make it, move over. Absolutely insanity….super easy to make….but they working in a cafe
I also think an extra round of hospitality especially working in a cafe is needed, and maybe some monitoring for corrections on spot. They need help. Anyways going to get a match and give someone else my coins.Feb 12, 2026 -
I often buy coconut here. I smelled it before buying it (cuz once I got it not fresh and taste funky) yesterday and it seemed ok. But when I tried it at home It felt like they soaked it or washed it in water with bleach or chlorine.

Incredible team at WholeFoods
After shopping, I realized my scooter lock got stuck outside the store. I went back to see whether I could purchase sth to cut it in the middle but wholefoods do not have it.
The store manager James was so nice and grabbed a big pair of pliers and actually walked outside with me to help fix the lock.
Huge thanks to James and the Whole Foods team for your kindnessJan 30, 2026 -
Bryant Park Whole Foods Market - The food they serve is the highlight. If you are around Bryant Park this is one best place to have hot meals. You will definitely get one of your choices here. The grocery shopping is a peaceful experience. The wide range of vegetables and meat are a few of the specialties. They have all the stuffs you want including my favorite mussels and mushrooms.

Big store with a decent food bar and dining area. Great view of Bryant park and other attractions.
Bathroom line gets long during the day.
Smoked salmon options are limited.
Well stocked on other options. If you’re looking for quick in and out check out the little shop on the right as you walk in.Jan 12, 2026 -
Great option if you are passing by or live in midtown. They have a great selection of appetizers & snacks (patés, olives, nuts, cheeses, dips, etc.). They also have an area on the 1st floor with a variety of most common sushi rolls.

Yessss. I love it in here. I bought a Yerb and sat in the seating area and looked out the window and pondered. What a vibe inside. This place can be overstimulating and overwhelming at times, but when u find your zen it is an awesome place to be.

Very convenient Whole Foods right by Bryant Park. There’s a big hot bar and salad bar where you can build your own meal, plus ready-made sushi, grain bowls and other grab-and-go options. I also like the selection of fresh pastries and teas. The store is clean and well organized, and there’s a separate entrance for the coffee counter, which is reasonably priced.
If you have an Amazon/Prime account, don’t forget to mention it or scan your code at checkout to get any available discountDec 03, 2025 -
This Whole Foods Market is my favorite spot for groceries when I a bin New York.
Great food quality, especialy the food bar.Nov 02, 2025 -
Provides good quality groceries, one of my favourit spot when I want to have nice lunch. Espeicaly the hot good area, so many items you can select with reasonal price.
Especially the location is perfectly located 400 meters from time square, every time I am on business trip in time square, I always stop by for couple times for fresh fruits or quick lunch.Oct 29, 2025 -
Review based on Amy and Rose at the Newsagency/cafe on Sat 10/25/25.
I suggest you both come to work, to actually work, and not to socialize. Took over 5 mins at the counter to be served and the hit chocolate you made was clearly done with the amount for a reg but you made a large. Made with whole milk instead of half and half as requested, as the reciept states this. Just because it was Saturday, it doesn't mean standards should drop. Queue of 5 people waiting to be served and Amy busy prioritising the managers non-relevant to the task discussion over customers, remember there is no trade to be done without customers and therefore no job.Oct 25, 2025 -
I had a great experience at this Whole Foods Market right across from Bryant Park. The store is clean, well-organized, and has a wide variety of fresh products. I just loved the fruit section.... The location is super convenient, whether you want to grab something quick or do some grocery shopping. Staff were helpful, and the checkout was fast. I especially enjoyed being able to pick up some food and then enjoy it right at the park. Perfect spot in the heart of New York!

Good Food, and reasonable prices. Feels like eating in a 5 start restaurant if you get a window seat
Sep 26, 2025 -
Spacious location with a variety of fresh produce and other grocery items.
I was excited to see the jumbo blueberries by Fruitist back in stock. The product is packaged in a convenient fruit cup of sorts which is great for an on-the-go snack for people of all ages.Sep 17, 2025 -
I tried the upstairs food hall and loved it. It has a direct view of Bryant Park and is conveniently located near Times Square.

Terrible taste! $13.99 per pound and I paid almost $50!And in the end to throw it! No taste, you feel only vinegar! First time I said:’Let me try!’Catastrophe! I said let me try rice, broccoli, mushrooms and chicken. Two of 5 stars, I like broccoli, has flavor. I’ll just have to settle for the soup,This is not the first time I buy soup here. I love your Lentil Soup! The food, unfortunately, is not worth the money!

Whole Foods Market on 6th Avenue is a great place for grocery shopping, offering a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables that are always well-stocked and of high quality. Prices are reasonable for the freshness and quality you get, and the store is clean, organized, and easy to navigate, making the shopping experience enjoyable.

When I’m in the city I go to whole foods for my needs, I love their butchery counter that has very fresh meat. The vegetables are amazing as well, the hot bar has a wide variety of food though I wish they would change it up sometimes.
When you buy flowers from here they can make you a pretty bouquet free of charge. Prime members get good deals throughout the store.
The only aggravating thing is that customer service desk that’s supposed to serve as a till never is open or available. They always just send you to the regular checkout counter. I was buying flowers the other day and they refused to let me pay for them there which is closer to the florist department. Whole Foods can make this process more efficient.Jul 20, 2025 -
From a traveler’s perspective, am just excited to revisit Whole Foods again. Same vibe with higher price tags. First floor sells grab&go foods and second floor sells hot meals. The sprits section can be better but won’t complain.
There are a lot of security guards near the entrance area. Overall a nice place to have in the middle of Manhattan.Jun 30, 2025 -
I’m truly surprised at their inability to replenish their stocks. Are we already facing a supply crisis? For the last three days they haven’t replenished their stocks. I have been going daily to buy a chocolate cereal but it’s not there. In fact, every day the shelves get more and more empty without being replenished. It’s truly pathetic that in the middle of one of the most busiest commercial and tourist spots in the country, we have such shortages.

I’ve visited the Whole Foods hot food bar at Bryant Park two evenings in a row, and the food—especially the egg rolls and orange chicken and broccoli—has been a letdown. The egg rolls looked almost burnt and way too dark to be appetizing. As for the “orange chicken and broccoli,” there was no trace of broccoli, just a lot of dark burnt looking breaded chicken that looked like it had been sitting there all day. To make matters worse, the attendant mixed the chicken around, so it was intentionally left this way.
It's insulting to think that you feel your customer's would eat something like this.
It’s disappointing to see this repeated two nights in a row. I expect better freshness and variety from Whole Foods, but right now, this hot bar just doesn't cut it.Jun 11, 2025 -
The food bar is so fresh and there’s a lot of variety. Definitely a good choice for healthy lunch, and the top floor seating has a great view
However, there is some cons.
Bathroom line is very full because of the location. Checkout can also be a hassle during busy hours because of the lack of employees, at least during the times I went.
But overall a great place to get food and buy a few grocery items. Just needs organizing the people traffic especially during busy hours.May 21, 2025 -
Hot bar buffet with nice view is definitely a hidden gem. You will have hot and fresh verity of food and a nice place to sit and have your meal.

This location set a high standard for all other wholefood. The design of this place is excellent. It’s spacious and the products are arrange not only clearly but also esthetically. It’s a treat to see them arrange the produce. There are seating area by the window at 2 floor. It has view of Bryant park. Priceless.

This store is about the closest thing you will get to perfection except they sometimes don't have what I need and they discontinue popular items when stores in other regions do not.
Case-in-point:
First visit, I stopped in to get some fresh squeezed orange juice. Its expensive, but its reliably organic and fresh and worth it. They only had the OJ in the large (I believe, gallon) size, which costs $17.99. None of the smaller sizes were offered.
Second visit, I wanted to grab a few individual packs of the 365 Lavendar Hand Sanitizing Wipes. I could find them the month prior but during this trip, they were nowhere in sight I go to customer service. they tell me that they were discontinued. But, wait. Every other store in every other state has them. "Some things sell in some regions and not in others, so that's not abnormal."
Yeah, annoying. Almost 3-star annoying, but its Whole foods, so.
I stopped in to use their bathroom and I was a bit shocked at how unkempt it was. I have never been to a Wholefoods bathroom that was not as clean as my bathroom at home.
When I stopped at the customer service desk about those sanitizing wipes, I overheard a conversation between employees where I guess its common for folks at this place to tell managers "that's not in my job description," maybe that's why I couldn't get OJ that one day and sanitizing wipes the next. Its not somebody's job.Aug 10, 2023 -
I recently visited the Whole Foods on 41st Street and 6th Ave and was really impressed with the store's selection and quality of products. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the store was clean and well-organized. I especially enjoyed the wide variety of fresh produce and the large bulk foods section. The prices were a bit higher than other grocery stores, but I felt that the quality of the products justified the cost. Additionally, I was pleasantly surprised by the buffet, which had a wide variety of selections and looked incredibly fresh and appetizing. Overall, I would definitely recommend this Whole Foods location to anyone looking for high-quality, organic groceries in the area.

Whole Foods Market is without a doubt a great choice for lunch when no time for waiting in a restaurant. This store is convenient located right in front of the park and near by a college where I had to take an exam yesterday. The store offers a great variety of products. The freshness and healthiness are undeniable. I loved the fact that they always have plenty of choices for Keto. The cheese section is in extreme good. Meats and veggies are really good. Perphaps, they are serving lots of people and of course doing a great job keeping the line short with almost no waiting time. I had an excellent experience overall. Thank you for the service you provide.
