Great neighborhood stationery store! Very friendly owner who has done a great job of curating notebooks, pens, games, puzzles and more. Prices are very reasonable, with little to no mark-up on most items.
It is always a pleasure to visit this amazing little store with its mix of quality stationery, art supplies, games and lovely little gifts for my grandchildren.

This place is a treasure on the upper west side. So many art stores have closed in the city, but this has an excellent selection of art supplies, drafting tools, notebooks – and it's also a great store for cards and gifts! I'm always inspired when I go there.

There was person ahead of me and the cashier took care of that person so well. But when I was next in line, he was on his phone. I said Good Afternoon three times and the cashier was still looking down on his phone. I really felt ignored. Still would like to buy art supplies but will not be a repeat customer.
It’s great to have Gold Leaf Stationers in our neighborhood near PS 166. We do not need to wait for days to get small things, and the kids love to see actual colorful selections in the shop. Their prices were reasonable, and they carry a lot of fun things for birthday gifts for our little friends. Definitely will recommend Gold Leaf Stationers for friends.
This local stationer has much more than you'd think given its size (I always find what I need) and stocks quality supplies. The staff is also very helpful. Please support this store to help keep independent businesses in the neighborhood!
Great local shop. I was in search of office supplies while I'm working from home and they had everything I needed. Thank you for being there for our neighborhood! Update for 2022: Continually impressed with this shop. A couple weeks ago I trekked over to a big art supply store for some fabric paints. Today I discovered I could have saved myself the trip and stopped by Gold Leaf. I really need to get in the habit of checking there first!
Bought a kite, some paper masks and a notebook today from this place. Great selection of art supplies, fun toys and NYC items. They were opened during the height of Covid and they have remained a great local business. If you can please support them.

This store is what makes New York truly magical. You'll feel like a kid a again once you step inside. a WIDE range of selection, from painting supplies, to craft supplies, planners, and even stickers! The owner is super knowledgeable too. A must-visit in the neighborhood

Really enjoy this store - such a wide variety at great prices. Great place to pop in whenever you're walking by to see what's new as they have many cute little gift items besides stationary. The owner is also really lovely.
In this age of computer generated art and graphics the ability and the use of hand generated art forms and crafts is seemingly dying. The availability of art and stationary stores like this one is literally gasping for air. Located on Manhattan’s upper west side, this is a relatively unknown gem for those who still like to create with their hands, or make a purchase of greetings and birthday cards. The staff is knowledgeable on every aspect of their store with quick smiles. I really hope this place is around for a long time. Their is no other store even similar in the area. No matter whether you’re local or from out of town, if you’re old enough to remember the times or young enough to try something different with your art, this is a great place to explore.
I needed refills for the pens that I have attached the photos. The sales associate was so knowledgeable and friendly. Gold Leaf Stationers has a large selection of pen refills. I will be back to purchase pens and refills. A five star experience
Small, but has all the painting essentials for an artist. I had gone past million times, but ended up here on Easter Sunday when both Michael's and Art Student's League were closed. They have a tight but good selection of oil and acrylic paints, canvases, brushes, and pretty much anything else you could need. A great option when the others are closed, and I will be back even when Michael's is open since this is so much faster and easier and more pleasant than having to go down into the dungeon and then wait on that line.
This cute stationary store is well stocked with essential paper supplies and writing utensils. There are lots of notebooks, calendars, pens and pencils of all weights and colors available at slightly above average prices. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made good conversation, giving the place a warm and inviting atmosphere and making the high prices worthwhile.
I’ve lived on the upper west side for years and Gold Leaf Stationers has been one of my most favorite stores for many reasons. Fasil the owner and Mark his assistant truly know about serving their customers! Fasil,who does the ordering and has a great eye for getting unique products. Over the years the store has expanded to include from picture framing, art supplies, fun toys, creative stickers and more. I find myself called to the store when I want a dose of reality and something special.
There is a time and a place for online buying but for some things there is nothing like in-person purchasing. It not just the products that are real, it’s the relationships, the favors, And as neuroscience research tells us we are hard wired to be social. People need people. Local shopping is a vital part of what makes you feel you belong to a community.
