Horrible service. Completely understaffed. Avoid at all costs. They’re completely uninterested in helping you.

Printing department is wonderful, especially Emy. She's super fast, knows exactly how to work all the machines, and very friendly. I had an important print job and she was great all around.

Omg! Jessica and Richard were so great! Jessica helped me with my color prints and she made sure my photos were the size I wanted. Extremely helpful, patient and kind! Give her a raise!!!
The price for 3 color photos was less than $3!! What a great deal and quick!Dec 24, 2025 -
This Staples is just exceptional. I've been coming here for years, and every associate I've interacted with is incredibly professional, resourceful, intelligent and kind. Because good service is such a rarity these days, I always walk out of here with a smile on my face. It's the go-to for all my shipping and printing needs as well as office supplies.
Dec 20, 2025 -
The staff were very helpful by helping me choose the right item and by helping me change my shipping location.

Staples is both big box and mom-and-pop. They have it All. And my Staples in Washington Heights has some of the friendliest, most helpful staff of any Staples I've used! I am a 'regular' due to the copier, which is super convenient for me to use & the quality is better than that of my school library. Photos and signs are super easy for projects. I needed last-minute stuff for a conference and got clipboards, sign holders, etc. I am very thankful for my Staples.

The employees here go above and beyond! I went specifically to this location because it said they had reinforced college ruled paper. I couldn’t find it on the shelf so I ask the employee at the register, Clara. She got another employee named Miguel to come help me find it. He then went and got a new box down from the top of the shelf just to give me the one pack of paper I was looking for. He didn’t make a big deal about getting it for me and when I went to checkout Clara said she knew I would get it!

my staples experiences here are always so good here. Sales people are extremely helpful, giving me info I find very useful , especially about how to maximize my points. the Cashiers are real sweethearts

My go to place for office supplies. From a place for Amazon returns drop-off to computer supplies to Toys and even Luggage!
Oct 28, 2025 -
I’ve returned Amazon packages at this Staples a few times, and it’s always been easy. The store is big, so the first time felt a little overwhelming—I wasn’t sure where to go—but the signage helped, and returns happen at the shipping center (which makes perfect sense).
On my most recent visit, Pastora helped me out. She was so kind she even apologized for finishing up the previous order—even though there was no wait and absolutely nothing to apologize for! I was in and out in maybe three minutes.
I’ve also used this Staples as my TSA PreCheck enrollment center, and that process was smooth too. They verified my ID quickly and professionally.
All in all, I have nothing but good things to say about the service here.Oct 15, 2025 -
Very clean Staples. It would be so cool if they redesigned the print and copy section so allow students or users to lay out their projects or simply work on projects and just less chaotic feeling. But i love this Staples the associates are very kind and helpful.

The associates who work at this Staples are wonderful. They are helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about the products.

I like Staples! Actually I have a strong predilection for office supplies, office products or stationery items since childhood as it reminds me of school including my undergraduate college days. I have a lot of pens (some were gifts), standard copier paper, specialty paper, journals, notebooks and 3 ring binders. It is becoming harder and harder to physically shop at a traditional brick-and-mortar office supply store due to the rise of ecommerce as competitors of Amazon.com. I have a Staples loyalty card for over four decades as I have spent a lot of money with this corporation. In less than several months earlier and now I have returned to Staples again... I'm back! I entered this business the second week of September where within the New York City metropolitan area is the beginning of the academic school year for Back to School shopping. There was a short line at the register for a female teenager who purchased notebooks with her father which sorrowfully reminisce memories with my own beloved father who valued and appreciated education and lifelong learning.
This location is accessible via MTA NYC Transit A train at 181th Street between 184th and 185th Streets in Washington Heights, New York, NYC. This Staples location is gargantuan retail space. I briefly wondered through the aisles but was able to attain standard copier paper. Printer ink cartridge prices has risen to the eternal sky for four decades of purchasing the same manufacturer (different model numbers through the years), but I still have the need as the essential component of a printing device. Color printer ink cartridge high exorbitant cost is verifiable egregious than black ink, but it is also another desideratum of mine. Every time a cashier rings these items at the register I always shrill a loud cry of utter financial pain ubiquitously as I have absolutely no shame. Will you share with my suffering?
Customer service at the register by a young female associate is very attentive as she exhibited compassion with genuine empathy and understanding for today's plaguing egregious cost of living expenses who "price match" on her handheld device enabling to reduce my two items' respective prices. I am very grateful for this Staples associate who is very helpful, but did not obtain her name. The price reduced further as I utilized my loyalty rewards points for redemption. Yes, loyalty card does have its privileges!!!Sep 15, 2025 -
I respect that everyone’s experience is going to be different, but my shopping trips to Staples have always been very good. Products are available as needed, staff is helpful & if something isn’t available, then I can either order it directly from Staples or go to another store - without having to rely on Amazon.

My neighborhood Staples is a fantastic resource for all my daily needs, electronics, printing, paper, art supplies, office supplies and even keys, goodies, kids' toys etc. really everything. Topped with the friendliest team of associates, I really feel at home there.

Store had everything we needed for back to school shopping. Cashier seemed stressed from coworkers or something from earlier in the day but that was about it.

Phenomenal experience today. Clarita at the cashier was knowledgeable and super helpful. Such a sweet soul

Jessica at the Staples/Broadway & 185th Street is a total pro--warmth, knowledge, efficiency--totally 5 Star! In sharing this with the Store Manager, Anna, I was super impressed with her as well. All the gold standard for in-store service. Many thanks!

I had a disappointing experience today at the Staples location at 185 Broadway. I politely asked for assistance with making five copies of a PDF via email, but the employee at the copy center showed little interest in helping. I ended up wasting over an hour trying to get the support I needed. The machines were not functioning properly, and there was no manager available to assist. I appreciate the young woman who eventually helped me, but even then, I was made to feel as though my frustration was unwarranted. While I understand staffing issues can be a challenge, it should never be an excuse for poor customer service.

Much improved customer service here over the last few years. Friendly and helpful. Can do TSA pre check, shipping, soda stream in addition to office stuff and my daughter loves the drawing paper and art supplies. Keep improving.

Staples, in Washington Heights, has been my go to store for over a decade; namely, for it’s price point on not only office/tech product offerings, but for household goods, as well. Great sales, location, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend!

I had a great experience at Staples! The employees were incredibly kind, patient, and went above and beyond to assist me with exactly what I needed. I was printing some important documents, and they took the time to make sure everything was formatted correctly and printed to my satisfaction. Not only did they provide excellent customer service, but they even gave me a discount on my printing, which was a wonderful surprise!

I’m just going to have to give up on this store. The checkers have always seemed nice. A few days ago I went in for ink, and they were out of stock. Only today do I see a sign that says if they’re out they’ll give you $10 off and free shipping. No checker pointed that out to me. Today I went in for a quick packing tape purchase. All brands were on sale, so I chose the Staples brand, which was the cheapest. The sale didn’t ring up at the register and I had to go and grab the sale sign to prove it. I can plan things better and just go to another store carrying similar items. This is why Amazon is excelling - this poor small business just isn’t being run well.
Edited 12/7 - removed a star. Can’t believe I bothered to come back here, but apparently you can return merchandise from the Gap. I had my return code pulled up and all ready. There was a problematic customer in line ahead of me. To be honest, that poor employee was dealing well with this elderly woman having a meltdown because something different was going on with her return. But no other employee would help me, first after making eye contact with them and then approaching them directly and asking if someone else could assist me. The store was empty, there were no other customers to worry about. They just wouldn’t help. Maybe they can’t, or aren’t permitted to, but they wouldn’t even offer that explanation. What a waste of time and of real estate. Please replace this location with anything that is a functioning business.Dec 07, 2024 -
Emi is probably one of the best employees there. My first time there not only she was helping me but 8 other people at the same time. Giving each one of us amazing service with a great attitude. It truly made my day!

Disappointing Experience at Staples
Yesterday, I decided to make an expensive purchase for my daily use and unfortunately had a very poor experience with customer service at this Staples location. The staff were aggressive, inattentive, and displayed unprofessional behavior during business hours. I wouldn’t recommend visiting this Staples.
I needed assistance with a product that required employee attention. To get help, I had to go to the cashier and ask for someone, which wasn’t an issue in itself. However, what bothered me was the wait—over 25 minutes for someone to assist me, despite there being only one cashier and no other customers at the time. Given the circumstances, I expected quicker service.
After those 25 minutes, an employee finally went to retrieve the item I requested, and that took another 17 minutes. By then, I was frustrated and just wanted to leave.
If anyone reads this review, I suggest visiting Target or a different Staples location to avoid an experience like mine.Sep 06, 2024 -
I had an absolutely awful experience at the Staples store on August 23rd, particularly with the UPS service and the employees there. The staff is incredibly negative and aggressive toward customers. I was shocked by how poorly they treat people.
An employee from UPS, a guy who didn’t speak a word of English, approached me. How do they even hire people who don’t know the language? This guy was extremely rude. Instead of assisting me with my package—which I paid $47 for express shipping—he just turned the computer in front of me and told me to fill it out myself because he wouldn’t help. Then he simply walked away. Is this seriously considered normal?
I strongly urge you to address the behavior of your employees and take action, including firing these people. They clearly have no intention of doing their job. I don’t know what they do there, but they certainly aren’t working.Aug 24, 2024 -
Staples has most of what I have needed, but their prices are high. I can only buy when I have money. I always return my ink cartridges, but they send the discount rewards late...about 3 days before they expire. If I do not have the money, the rewards expire on me. Ink is expensive.
TO THE OWNER: My experience at the store was fine. The store did NOT have one thing I was looking for, but that is no biggie. I am more concerned about receiving the discount rewards late...2 or 3 days before it is due to expire. Why are they not sent sooner, so people can plan to purchase?Jul 18, 2024 -
Once again had to leave the store without making a purchase because there was no staff at the register. I saw two staff members in conversation but despite another customer and I trying to wave them over to the checkout area where we were waiting with money in hand, they couldn't be budged from their conversation. I found what I needed at the Deals store a block away. I give 3 stars only because of the convenience of having amazon return drop-off in the store.

My recent visit to Staples @ Broadway and 184th St. left me thoroughly disappointed due to the lack of professionalism and courtesy exhibited by the staff, particularly the individual who assisted me during my visit. She knows who she is.
Upon entering the store to drop off a package for Amazon, I was met with an attitude that was anything but welcoming. The employee in question displayed a demeanor that can only be described as rude and lacking in basic customer service skills.
Instead of offering assistance or greeting me with a smile, I was met with curt demands. When I asked if I could leave the small box at the store. The response I received was not only dismissive but downright hostile. The employee insisted that I unpack the box myself, with no offer of help or explanation as to why it couldn't be accommodated.
The final straw came when, after complying with their request, I was instructed in a brusque and commanding tone to pick up the box and take it with me. This interaction left me feeling not only disrespected but also deeply uncomfortable.
Customer service is a fundamental aspect of any business, and it was sorely lacking in this instance. It is clear that the staff at Staples are in need of serious training in how to interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner.
Overall, my experience at Staples was extremely disappointing, and I left the store feeling frustrated and dissatisfied. It is my hope that management will take this feedback seriously and take steps to ensure that future customers are treated with the respect and courtesy they deserve.Apr 17, 2024
