What clients say about The High Line in New York (NY)

Train tracks turned into an art path. This was my second visit. This time was a winters walk. Interesting way to see the artwork without the flowers. Still a great addition to anyone’s list of things to do while visiting New York. There’s both staircases and elevators to get you to the path. Very safe. Well maintained. We were in the Chelsea neighborhood. This was February 2026 and fortunately we were able to see the pigeon display as exited to Penn Station.

This elevated park is such a lovely part of the city and a nice escape from the chaos. The views are also immaculate! The walkway is also narrow so you need to be patient otherwise you risk bumping into others. It could also potentially get really busy depending on the time of the day you go. Also, the transition from the greenery into Hudson Yards is quite stunning!
Feb 27, 2026 -
The High Line is a beautiful elevated walkway that can take you from Chelsea Market to Hudson Yards. It offers gorgeous views of the city and beautiful art. It was winter when we visited so I can only imagine how beautiful it is in the green months. Such a beautiful walk in the city. We absolutely love this area of the city.
Feb 17, 2026 -
Very cool park and something my wife and I always try and hit when we visit Manhattan! Such a nice job of reusing space and it is very well organized. Definitely worth walking if you’re strolling the city.
Feb 15, 2026 -
Loved walking along the New York High Line! Hard to believe this beautiful elevated park was once an old freight railway line. The way they transformed it into a green, peaceful walkway with great city views is incredible. A quick, relaxing escape right above the busy streets—definitely worth a visit for walk lovers.

The highline was a great experience. It just gave ideas on how a city could use it's vestigial spaces for making green recreational spaces for the community. A frieght train corridoor has been made into a high line long walk garden corridoor and it is beautiful. It was a long walk giving a view of the Hudson side of Manhattan. The art was very nice too. I went during winters but the Holly was still growing. I am sure the place will be prettier in spring. The community has tried to preserve the native plants on yhe high line. Although.... new york has so many better attractions.
Jan 14, 2026 -
What an amazing place! An old rail track converted into an elevated walking path. You get to walk looking on one side at the Hudson River and enjoying the architecture of the surrounding buildings. I would love to see it again in the warm season to enjoy the lounge areas and the green! It’s a must-see!

I had been wanting to visit this place for a while. After visiting the Coulée Verte a few years ago and learning that NYC has its own elevated park, I knew it was a must see. I visited on 01/09/2025. Despite the frigid weather, the park felt quiet, peaceful and perhaps more beautiful in its own way. The architecture, seating areas, and views of NYC from multiple angles were impressive. I was pleasantly surprised to end up at Little Island which was another cool spot to explore.
Jan 10, 2026 -
Unique elevated park built on a former railway line with great city views and a creative urban atmosphere. Nicely landscaped with art installations, seating areas, and viewpoints along the way. Can get very busy, but it’s a great walk connecting Chelsea, the Meatpacking District, and Hudson Yards.

Wheelchair user review: There are several accessible entrances listed on their website, I used the one by 30th ave. I was able to go almost everywhere except for this one viewing platform with steps. The rest was pretty flat and I was even able to go over the old railway tracks. Lots of places to sit (or even lie) down and rest. Took an elevator down to the street. Fun times.

A must see place in NY. Great experience and great city views. End of the path is a large Mall with lots of interesting shops, including a Jose Andres Spain Market full of Iberian delicatessen
Dec 30, 2025 -
A unique and always enjoyable walk through the city. Great views, interesting design, and especially nice in the evening. Easy to fit into any NYC itinerary.
Dec 28, 2025 -
I loved running and walking along this! It was so peaceful, it was about 1.5 miles one way. I highly recommend visiting this when visiting, it has some of the few touches of nature you can find in the city. It has great spots for taking pictures, and you can get to your destination off the highline faster.
Dec 24, 2025 -
The highline park and walk was a great time in New York City. The views from the area highlight the skyline and it many different unique features of the city. We went during December so everything was dead, but I can imagine in the summer the greenery of the highline park is unmatched. DeWalt from seventh Avenue to the start was not bad either so it’s pretty accessible from many places.

The High Line is a fantastic urban walk. A former railway transformed into a park peaceful, creative, and beautifully integrated into the city. I walked from Hudson Yards to the West Village and loved how effortless it felt: no cars, no traffic lights, just a relaxed flow through the city. Great perspectives of New York from above and a perfect way to explore without feeling rushed. Highly recommend.

It was a great experience. A few areas were closed for renovation. If Friday noon is a busy time, it was only crowded for a little while. Excess of benches. Your party of 24 could take up all the benches in an there's still plenty of benches.

I absolutely love walking on the highline, whether taking time for myself or commuting to work, there is such great architecture to be seen. Whether you start your experience walking the highline from the West village to Hudson Yards or from Hudson Yards to the West village you can truly see the diversity of the West side neighborhoods in Manhattan. The planning of the walkway in coordination with the artwork, the trees and flowers is well thought out. There are plenty of options to sit and enjoy the views, especially catching the sunrise or the sunset. My favorite time is in the morning when the city is quiet. The design of this park is truly incredible.

One of the most beautiful places in New York City! The High Line is such a unique and peaceful escape from the busy streets below. Walking above the city, surrounded by greenery, art, and stunning views of the Hudson and Manhattan skyline is an unforgettable experience. It’s the perfect place to slow down, take photos, and truly enjoy the magic of NYC. A must-visit spot — one of the best places in the city without a doubt.
Nov 27, 2025 -
Highline was beautiful. Middle of the city connecting all the way from the Little Island/Chelsea Market to the Vessel. It's an art gallery, a forest, a commute all rolled into one. Would love to see it in full bloom during the sumnmer and with fall colors.
Nov 27, 2025 -
I have vowed to peruse The High Line every time I'm in town. It feels like a sacred sanctuary with the beautiful views, the lush gardens, and stillness within the city. Also, it's a great way to help the kiddos learn something new about plants and to get their energy out (if you know, you know.

The High Line is one of the most unique and enjoyable outdoor experiences in New York City. Built on an elevated historic rail line, it offers a peaceful walkway above the busy streets, with great views of the city and plenty of greenery along the way. It’s a perfect place for a stroll, whether you’re looking to take photos, enjoy the art installations, or just relax in a quieter space. The mix of plants, architecture, and open views of the Hudson River makes it feel both urban and calming at the same time. Depending on how fast you walk, you can explore the whole thing in about 30–60 minutes, making it a great stop that doesn’t take up your whole day. It can get crowded during peak hours, but it’s still a lovely experience overall. A must-visit if you’re in the city and want something scenic, relaxing, and completely free. Please leave a like if you found this helpful!

Lovely for an autumn walk and lots of great photo opportunities. Clean bathrooms. Lots of city views. Surrounded by buildings with unique architecture. Lots of benches and viewing areas, including one where you can watch traffic. Landscaping and sculptures.
Nov 15, 2025 -
A wonderful use of old elevated train tracks turned into beautiful greenery in the middle of the city. So many different kinds of vegetation and lots of great art to see along the way. We walked about 2 miles of it from The Edge down to Chelsea Market.
Nov 13, 2025 -
Nice walking path/park elevated above the city, making it easy to breeze through town without stopping at all the stoplights and car trying to turn. Pretty gardens accompanied by elevated views of the city.
Nov 12, 2025 -
This is such a cool walking path/pedestrian route for anyone wanting to walk near the Hudson Yard area to Pier 57/Chelsea Market. Lots of green spaces and natural plantings with the old railroad lines, and places with stairs and elevators to go down to street level. Nice way to see some cool buildings and avoid traffic and stoplights. You can enter near the Vessel in Hudson Yard area, or end there if you start above the Chelsea Market.
Oct 23, 2025 -
Great park to go for fun or just because. I always love going here. It is very practical as well when you go up and down of the city. Great place to get a view of city. It was a good way to get to Chelsea market from other part of the city. I highly recommend!
Oct 21, 2025 -
A very interesting and well-maintained shaded walking path built along the route of a former railway. Along the way, there are benches for resting and a few spots where you can grab a drink. It starts near The Vessel and ends at Chelsea Market, offering a pleasant continuation for exploring this beautiful neighborhood.

This walk is so nice, it's hard to believe it's free (privately funded, donations accepted). We stopped for several minutes to listen to a mockingbird perform his concert! Super clean bathrooms, and there are no pets allowed, so with all the plants, it smells nice too. Not too crowded on weekdays.

This is the best part of NYC for me. A previously abandoned above ground railway has been transformed into a park above the streets of downtown Manhattan. They are also growing lots of plants, wild herbs and flowers to bring life and greenery into this corner of the city. It's good to see they're continually expanding it. I especially love being able to sit and read or watch the world go by at the giant window midway through the park. An innovative way to repurpose an historic part of the city.

One of my favorite walking adventures in NYC! It's beautiful and well maintained. I got on in West village and walked to Hudson yards. I would have kept going if my schedule was more open.
