I love this store. It’s perfect for any Harry Potter fan. I’ve been twice already and I’ll always come back. The staff is great, the store is clean, and the whole experience is magical.

Visiting the Harry Potter New York shop was such a magical experience! From the moment you walk in, you truly feel like you’ve stepped into the Wizarding World. The design, lighting, and details are incredible — every corner feels special. The selection of merchandise is amazing, from wands and house robes to unique collectibles you won’t easily find anywhere else. Everything is beautifully displayed, and the atmosphere is immersive and exciting. The staff is friendly and helpful, making the whole experience even better. Whether you’re a big Harry Potter fan or just curious, this place is definitely worth visiting!

Huge harry potter fan, prices are reasonable . We also ordered the butter beer (it was cream soda) we got to keep the cup, pick from different temperatures like cold, frozen, hot which is cool. Also the broom experience was fantastic. Must visit store for Harry Potter fan

Next to the iconic Flatiron building is the Harry Potter Shop, where wizards and muggles can experience the wizarding world in a new way! The Harry Pottwr Shops have two levels. The upper level lets you customize your own wands at Ollivanders and drink Butterbeer at the Butterbeer Bar. The lower level lets you Fly A Broomstick in their Ultimate Immersive Broom Experience and examine tons of authentic props! I would love to give this five stars, but have to deduct 0.5 star for the lack of horcrux keychains/souvenirs. But other than that, feel free to try the snacks from the wizarding world, examine authentic movie props, and take home equipments/gears from your Hogwart's house.

An absolute dream come true! I came to NYC with friends to see Tom Felton as Draco Malfoy in The Cursed Child. Coming to the flagship store was an absolute MUST! Whimsical is probably the best word to describe this location. With a butterbeer bar, novelty cups, & a clean your cup station (so they aren’t sticky when you leave) I think they thought of everything. Walking around with our frozen butterbeer (tasted just like the universal parks, I’m a FL res), seeing the stairwell to Dumbledoor’s office, original art from the books (dobby & fluffy hehe) & a whole section for MinaLima books, I wish I could go again & again! I got so many trinkets & a pair of Harry’s Christmas PJs, so comfy! Love love love this store! Don’t think just go!

The store has a variety of Harry Potter themed gifts that are always changing. I love how many options they have when it comes to different houses. The only thing that made me rate the experience 4/5 was that the apparel was mostly polyester. I came here 5 years ago and was able to get wool scarves and gloves. I wish they would make more cotton and wool clothing again.

The Harry Potter Shop New York is pure magic. From the moment you walk in, the details, atmosphere, and design completely pull you into the wizarding world. Every room feels immersive, and there’s something cool to discover around every corner. The staff were friendly, helpful, and clearly fans themselves, which made the experience even better. The merchandise selection is amazing—whether you’re a casual fan or a hardcore Potterhead, there’s something you’ll want to take home. If you’re in NYC and even remotely a Harry Potter fan, this place is a must-visit. Totally worth it. 🪄✨

Harry Potter fan? Outside of the theme parks, this is the place for you! Amongst the absolute multitude of merch, here are some sections of note: ~ "Things which must be named" - personalize an array of products including trunks (suitcases), wands, robes, notebooks, quidditch jerseys, etc. ~ Candy shop - get your chocolate frogs, Bertie Bott's Beans, fudge flies and bottles of butter beer ~ Butter beer shop - purchase a snack along with a "tankard" of hot or cold butter beer! There's a washing station to rinse it out so you can take it home. ~ video and photo green screen experience. Sit on a broom and they’ll make you look like you’re flying through different scenes. ~ Lots of cool New York exclusive merch Potterheads visiting NYC can't miss it!

Hands down the best time! Truly magical, great prices on things, interactive areas, great photo-ops, you can have things personalized while you shop. The cafe has butterbeer and a great selection of pastries/baked goods. There are so many areas to explore you can spend quite a bit of time here. It's accessible and everyone is so friendly to help you get where you need to be when trying to go between floors. Such a magical and fun experience.

Pretty decent shop. It's totally free to check it out. Somewhat reasonable prices compared to other online and knock off places. One thing I did not like was the butter beer. I don't know what I was expecting but it certainly wasn't what they gave me. It was unpleasantly sweet and cost about $14 for a small cup, but you can take the cup home. They have a washing station for that cup as well. People were friendly and helpful. Wouldn't recommend the butter beer (especially hot one).
Jan 22, 2026 -
The place is nice and had plenty of merchandise i haven't seen at other places. There are only two floors which are well decorated. You can pay to ride a broom and have a video or picture of you on it with the london background. Looked cool. The butterbeer is great a usual but was a bit surprised by the $13.50 price, but it did come with a souvenir cup. I was hoping there was a cheaper option without the cup. Overall, we were underwhelmed by the store as it wasn't as big or with as many things to do as we were hoping, but it's worth a visit.
Jan 18, 2026 -
The staff were exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable, happily sharing information with us and other guests alike—we couldn’t help but notice their enthusiasm as everyone tested out the wands around us. There’s a lot to see and do, and lines can be long, so it’s best to allow plenty of time. While the space itself is on the smaller side, it’s thoughtfully designed and well organized. With so many great photo opportunities (Hagrid, the sorting hat & the phoenix), certain areas can get a bit crowded, but overall it was def an engaging and enjoyable experience.

This is the largest Harry Potter retail experience in the world, located in the Flatiron District at 935 Broadway (between 5th Ave & Broadway). The shop spans multiple floors and offers a huge range of merchandise, exclusive items, and themed experiences. Inside you’ll find: ✨ Wand shops with over 50 wands inspired by characters and locations from the films and books. 🍬 A confectionery section with magical sweets like Chocolate Frogs and Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans. 🍻 A Butterbeer Bar serving classic wizard-world drinks and treats. 📸 Tons of photo ops and themed displays—including Hagrid’s boots and a London phone booth. 🪄 Interactive fun like broomstick green-screen experiences and personalization stations. Tips for Visiting • It’s right by the 23rd Street subway stop (multiple lines), so easy to reach from all over Manhattan. • Planning 1–2 hours for your visit is a good idea if you want to explore and take photos. • Some days have virtual queues or timed entry if it’s very crowded — check ahead or arrive early.

I was very excited to see the flagship store. It did not disappoint. So many fun props from the movies and interactive areas. I especially enjoyed the wand area and the staircase.
Jan 02, 2026 -
More than just a shop, it’s a fully immersive experience packed with details that will delight any Harry Potter fan. From the outside, it doesn’t look like much (you expect just another merch store) but once inside, it’s absolutely massive. Even though it was quite crowded, it never felt unpleasant. The only downside: the butterbeer is way too expensive… sadly.

We’re locals and brought our teen nieces here, and they loved it. Immersive, well-designed, and fun even if you’re not a huge Harry Potter fan. A great stop when hosting teens in NYC.

This was one of the highlights when my daughter and I took a trip to NYC. It was her first visit to the city and she fell in love. This store was a huge part of that. From the life sized pair of Hagrid's shoes (along side a life sized wall painting of Robbie Coltrane) to personalized quidditch jerseys, it felt like everything you could want was inside. There are tons of wands to look through and 'test'. Sadly, to me, they were all replicas of the character wands. What a joy it could have been to actually get *your* wand, too. From chocolate frogs, to replica artwork, to every possible house themed souvenir you can think of, this place has nearly everything. The whole place is built and enjoyed as much as many other New York stops, with or without a purchase. That is especially true if you have children who are fans. Bring your credit card, for sure. They have the authentic licensed, well, everything. They know that and you will feel it a bit at check out. They did personalize a journal for my daughter at a reasonable cost. It was also less than 45 minutes to complete that process. A+ there. Last thing! Even my 10 year old has decided that the butter beer was probably a bad idea. Carbonated butterscotch toped with foam that can not be wiped out of the glass caused us to give up on trying to transport the souvenir cups you get. They are insanely sweet. If you just have to try one, I suggest bringing someone along to share it with you!
Dec 18, 2025 -
The place is incredible, but the staff... The staff is the most amazing staff in the world! I wanted to buy the Ravenclaw's Diadem and they were out of stock. I wanted that so bad, because it was my last day in NYC, and they were able to find one just for me! I love the whole staff of the store!
Dec 16, 2025 -
Absolutely amazing. If you are in NY it must be visited. Magic experience, like you are in muzeum or in fairytale. Interactive and many places where to take photo. Aldo they have restrooms :) P.S. tap butter beer is total disappointment, do not waste your money on it. As well as plastic mug. In London taste was delicious and mug was from glass.

This is a must visit if you're a Harry Potter fan! The store is huge and has multiple sections, each with its own aura, and there is so much merchandise to choose from! The store itself is a work of art, with plenty of spots for photo ops and many authentic movie props displayed across the store. They even have a whole room dedicated to MinaLima! And you cannot miss the Butter Beer bar. Although I didn't buy anything I had a wonderful experience and would definitely suggest visiting.

If you’re a true Potterhead — I mean a real one, down to your core — this store is an absolute must-visit. I’ve been to many Harry Potter shops around the world, including in the UK, but Harry Potter Shop New York definitely surpasses everything I’ve seen before. This isn’t just a store — it feels like a small, self-contained magical universe. The moment you step inside, you get the impression that you’ve crossed into the Wizarding World. The decor, the atmosphere, the details — everything is so meticulously crafted that you want to explore every corner. The number of unique and custom items is truly impressive. You’ll find things here that are nearly impossible to find anywhere else: • rare collectible wands • exclusive prints • unique stationery • custom clothing, from cozy house sweaters to rare apparel pieces • a huge selection of gifts for fans of both the films and the books • and countless magical little trinkets, accessories, pins, decorations, and more The atmosphere deserves special praise: every area is designed so beautifully that at some point you forget you’re in a store and not wandering through Hogwarts. There are photo spots everywhere, themed installations, and even small “magical” touches that make the whole experience unforgettable. Simply put — this place is a paradise for Potterheads, where you can easily spend hours without noticing the time. The store impresses not only with its assortment but also with the emotions, quality, and attention to detail. Absolutely recommend it! ✨🪄

I had such a wonderful experience at Harry Potter NYC today, thanks to Dharma. She was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and had the most welcoming smile. I had just finished a very stressful state exam and decided to visit the store for some peace of mind. I’m a huge Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts fan, so it felt like the perfect escape. Dharma made the visit absolutely magical. She was so sweet, answered all my questions, and genuinely made me feel at ease. Her energy and kindness turned my stressful day into something truly special. She’s amazing! I had such an amazing experience at the MinaLima section in Harry Potter NYC thanks to Eve! She is incredibly sweet, welcoming, and so knowledgeable about all things MinaLima and the Wizarding World. Her passion really shows, and she made exploring the artwork and details even more exciting. Eve took the time to answer my questions and share fun insights, which made my visit feel extra special. If you’re a Harry Potter or Fantastic Beasts fan, definitely stop by and chat with her! She truly elevates the whole experience! I had the pleasure of speaking with Aliza, the Manager at the Harry Potter NYC store, after going to share some well-deserved kudos about two employees. From the moment we started talking, she was amazing, and genuinely happy to hear the positive feedback. Aliza herself was absolutely fantastic! Incredibly insightful, kind, and easy to talk to. Our conversation flowed so naturally, and you can tell she takes real pride in her team and the magical experience they create. It was truly a pleasure speaking with her. Managers like Aliza make the store feel even more special. Highly recommend stopping by, the magic is real! And lastly, Jay, the security guard at the Harry Potter NYC store, deserves major recognition. He’s incredibly attentive and greets every guest with a warm, welcoming smile the moment they walk in. His presence makes you feel comfortable and taken care of right away. Anytime I had a question, Jay guided me in the right direction without hesitation. He’s friendly and professional.

The Harry Potter Shop New York is such a special place. If you’re a Harry Potter fan in any way — whether you grew up with the books, love the movies, or just enjoy the magic of the Wizarding World — this is an absolute must-visit. The store is beautifully designed and full of immersive little details that make you feel like you’ve stepped right into the world of Harry Potter. The Butterbeer Bar is one of my favorite parts. The butterbeer drink is delicious and surprisingly refreshing, and the butterbeer ice cream is even better. It’s worth stopping by for the cafe alone. I also love that the front area of the store changes seasonally. Even if you’ve been here before, there’s always something new to see or buy, which makes repeat visits genuinely fun. The merch selection is incredible. You can find almost every type of Harry Potter item you could ever hope for, all in one place — customizable wands where you can have your name engraved, robes, collectibles, and tons of house-specific clothing and accessories. Whether you're a Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, or Slytherin, there’s a huge selection of items in your colors and style. It’s easily one of the most magical retail experiences in New York City, and I always recommend it to anyone visiting or living here. If you love Harry Potter, you’ll want to come back again and again.

Didn't plan a visit, but I'm so glad it was nearby and we took the opportunity to check it out! The attention to detail and the different areas to capture your interest and bring you back to a different part of the story was incredible! There was an activity for young fans to earn a prize. And finishing off our stay with some butterbeer hit the spot! I got a hot one (with toppings) while my husband and sons got them cold. I shared some photos from our visit. Highly recommend for Harry Potter fans of all ages!

This place is Mecca for a Harry Potter lover. They have movie set pieces on display, an awesome sweet shop, a cafe with butterbeer, personalization shop downstairs for wands and notebooks. I could go on and on. They have a lot of location specific things as well, like wands made only for the New York shop. I bought several items including some Lego sets, Gryffindor sweaters, Christmas ornaments, and keychains. One of my favorite stops while in the city.
Nov 15, 2025 -
This is not just a store but a highly immersive Harry Potter experience that is absolutely free and a true treat for its fans. As soon as you walk in to the store, you find yourself in the Harry Potter world, where you can actually hold the wands, wear the hats, experience the rooms, walls, library, and landmarks from the series and books, drink butter-beer and even have it in an ice cream, buy candies and chocolates on the theme. If that’s not enough you can buy almost anything from the show including some hundred varieties of wands, bags, shirts. There are so many different types of memorabilia that can be bought for kids and adults alike. The basement floor has a simulated broom ride as well. There are also bathrooms in the basement floor. The staff are very nice and helpful but very particular about the closing time and make sure that all customers are out of the store as soon as it closes. Overall highly recommended store for a visit.

For Potter heads- a must visit! You do get back to the Hogwarts and all things Magic! From Bands of every kind to merch that can remind you of the world it’s a wonderland. They even have groom rides on the green screen to make it cinematic for you! The place can be explored for a few hours and enjoy your time there.
Nov 11, 2025 -
This is an awesome experience, highly recommend to the Harry Potter lovers of the world. Grab a butter beer and walk around the store browsing all the cool things from Potter land! Bathrooms downstairs if you need them too. Wish you could get the butter beer in a regular cup instead- or even refill. The ones you can buy don’t taste quite as good as the one they serve.

Potterhead cannot miss this place when visitng New York. I was amazed with everything in there. All the merchs look so cute, I wanted to buy everything actually. I also like the cafe area which they have butterbeer, cakes, cookies. They also have mug washing area to take back home. They have everything like keychains, magnets, clothes, pins, snacks, stationeries, and more. I just knew that they have amazing decorated restrooms down stair, so, check it out.

If you're a fan of Harry Potter, you do not want to skip the Harry Potter Shop in NYC! Whether you're looking for gear to rep for your favorite house, in need of a new wand, craving a chocolate frog or a butter beer, looking for a new plushie, some artwork, or maybe an ornament... You'll find it in there! There are two floors and you'll want to make sure that you look up in every room because there are hidden surprises in every single room of this impressively magical space! If you're pressed for time, you could probably get through the whole space in about an hour if you don't get sidetracked looking in cases, perusing the vast array of wands and merchandise in general. To be on the safe side, I would suggest 2+ to peruse the entirety of the store. Probably three hours if you've got little ones with you!
