Good pricing, like to go every week ,but not fully satisfied, during summer water cases keep outside the store every day . No coconutes available for couple of months after hiking price unfairly .
I needed bread and ice cream w am. I couldn't find any blue bell ice cream but fou n d wonderful fresh produce and fruits. I settled on the heb ice cream but overall not a bad experience
Clean, very crowded when I went. Employees very helpful and professional. Prices here are unbelievable, please plan to stop by and see for yourself. Will be going back again and again.
Usually overcrowded but they have what you need. Many of the products are HEB brand (not everything you find at HEB) and its definitely a lower-income friendly grocer. I myself am in that category.
Very bad first time experience. Never been to Joe V’s before so didn’t know the process of paying. The cashier was very rude and she was a smart ass. As she was scanning the items she was throwing them down the belt almost crushing the eggs with the milk. When it came to the check out process I was handing her the money and on the pin pad something kept popping up and I pressed enter 2x she then proceeded to tell me you keep canceling it. Put the money in the scanner, I told her I didn’t know what I was doing if she would explain to me the process I would know and she gave a very rude smart ass comment “ I’m sure you have been here before you know” I told her I have never been to Joe Vs her name was Ashley or Ashlen. Worst first time experience. Poor customer service. Sad to be treated like this the first time.
Super affordable prices, for generic and some HEB brand items. Good quality meat department too. 730am is a gret time to shop with fresh products and little foot traffic.
I first learned about Joe V’s Smart Shop around 2013 when one of my customers introduced me to the area by grabbing tamales from a food cart outside the store, and since I’d never been inside, I decided to check it out. That’s when I realized Joe V’s is part of the HEB family. The easiest way to describe it is: Central Market is the premium tier, HEB is the standard, and Joe V’s is the more budget-friendly option.
Whenever I’m in this part of town, I like to stop by and see if there are any good deals—and sometimes you really do find treasures. For example, I once bought an Italian soda at Central Market for around $3.99–$4.99, and later found the exact same soda here for about $1.99. Inventory is more limited, but the savings can be worth it.
They also have some nice bakery items, and one of my favorite things about this location is their selection of Mexican candies. I’ve picked up Pulparindo candies and Lucas Spaghetti here multiple times.
Checkout can be a bit chaotic, as many shoppers have full carts, while I’m usually just grabbing a few items. That said, they accept credit cards and there’s plenty of parking available. Overall, a great place to stop if you’re looking for bargains and unique finds.
This particular Joe V's is always extremely busy so I do not expect the staff to give Hands-On service. The shelves seem to be well stocked and I found exactly what I was looking for. I would return if needed
It's ok, it just clutter as U come into the entrance way by the produce section. Overwhelmed❗️Be to many people in one area, be careful you might get ranned over with their basket. But if Joe V Managers can organize a little better, It's still a good store.
Jovi’s is a great store I go to different stores to get certain things I go to Jovi‘s to get all my meat among a few other things. I have a home daycare so buying a lot of meat I separated, put it in different bags and it lasts for a family size and a daycare, but make sure you go early in the morning
This is hands down the cheapest grocery store in Houston metro. These are some of the prices HEB used to have for low income families. But the new HEBs are absolutely not affordable. Joe Vs is the answer. HEB quality for Dollar Tree prices. Go with a shopping bag if you don't plan on shopping much. Peak hours are pure madness inside Joe Vs, and folks can be rude and inconsiderate at those times. Go with patience or first thing in the morning.
Great pricing! Easy shopping & deals! Great customer service! Easy parking! I enjoy this place! Always clean facility and aisle. Still check your expiration dates!
I love this place! It's definitely my go to for produce and many other family staples. Whenever I come across a huge deal, I stock up, prep, and prepare the bounty for later. Then, not only do I get it for a great price, but it's ready to go at meal time. This place saves me money, and it saves me from eating unnecessary last minute junk food. (I've lost almost 40 pounds!)
Great values given the rise in food prices. Quality of selections always good. Cashier was very pleasant and moved the customers through quickly in spite of large number of items scanned.
I never had any complaints about Jovys services or products, but for the handicapped. I'm no longer able to shop there bc no electric carts or accommodations for disabilities and elderly people are available. When that improves I'll be able to do most all my shopping there.
Very disappointed with this store. The checkout line was extremely long, and I had to wait over an hour just to pay. The manager and employees didn’t seem to care about the customers or the situation. Terrible service—I won’t be coming back.
The vegetable department is good. Found some good deals on various products. My experience wasn't as hectic as some of the other's posts. I actually enjoyed shopping here.
The Fuqua location is always very, very packed. I know what to expect when I go so armed with headphones and ample patience, I'm able to access the HEB-but-discounted offerings and save a little money on my usual purchases. For me, Joe Vs has excellent produce and frozen vegetables pricing. Also cleaning goods and the like. I also like that I can get a few of my Gardein items for a little bit cheaper consistently.
Your self check out person by the name of TEQUILA is trash! She definitely needs to be retrained or she comes to work on tequila! She stopped me mid shift while I was checking out myself check out groceries. To get in a longer line and wait longer because I had more than 10 items.. if you want your customers to be in and out please please hire sufficient checkers that can check out customers and have every lane open no matter what time of day it is! But to be stopped mid in the mist of Me checking out my own groceries is ridiculous! But that's not it another person came behind me with more than 10 items and was able to check out! Tequila didn't find a need to stop them! Picture shown to show exactly what I'm talking about. Instead of putting tequila on self checkout put tequila in a lane.. I'm sure she will not be sufficient.
Its ok...prices ok...H‑E‑B partners so you find some not all but H‑E‑B brands ... when looking for sweet fruit and Blue bell Then head over to H‑E‑B but everything else is cool including fresh veggies.
It’s you looking for really affordable prices for Grocery definitely Joe V’s Smart Shop has to be in your list of groceries stores.
The prices are reasonable even some cheaper than other places, you find variety of different kind of product and different brands. They have HEB brand products and that’s really good.
One thing that they probably need to improve particularly in this location is the rotation of the product specifically in the vegetables section sometimes they have really old and ruin veggies there.
But overall I like this Grocery Store.
This is a small neighborhood grocery store known for low prices and quality products. It is set up along the lines of the big box warehouse stores but is about one-third their size. The store is clean, well-lit and has lots of registers open for checkout. The biggest difference on checkout is that the cashiers do not handle any cash at all. After your purchases are rung up you can pay with a debit/credit card as normal. If paying with cash, you feed your cash and coins into a machine and it spits out your appropriate change.
