My experience at Northwest Houston Auto Repair was magnificent. The workers were super friendly and welcoming to me, and they took terrific care of my car. They fixed everything for a really good price and even through in a free rotation for my tires. They were efficient and accurate in their work while also getting the job done as quickly as they possibly could without cutting corners.

I wanted to take the time to write a review on this shop. I took my car in because I was having trouble with my wheel kept making noises when I was driving it seemed like the the fast I went the noise kept getting more and more pronounced. Took my car in for them to look at it. They figured out my problem right away. Got my car back the same day. There are a lot of bad shops out there and I’ve had my bad experiences in the past but these guys really helped me out. They were fast got my car fixed the same day. The price wasn’t too bad they kept it affordable and the service experience was good. I’m going to tell my friend about this shop she needs repairs on her car too. I think I’ve finally found a shop I can trust.

Never coming back to this shop, i brought my car because it was making a noise whenever i went through holes or bumpy roads, they check the car and gave me an estimate which they charged me 140 just for the estimate, i took the car estimate to a automotive parts to check the price of the parts by myself, he was trying to overcharge me for parts totaling almost 2000 just on parts, almost double the money i actually ended up paying for parts, and wanted to charge 1100 for labor, i fixed the car changing all the same parts plus labor for 1300. Also when i went to to the other shop where i ended up fixing the car, when they lifted the car to see what was going on they found a couple loose screws (very important screws) they told me it was a miracle i didnt have an accident driving the car like that, it could have ended up bad for me. They didnt care of my safety they just let me drive off the car like that so it could continue to make that noise so i would bring the car back to get it fix with them.

I bring my car here for oil changes. Fair prices, quick service and friendly staff. Highly recommend if you live in the Houston are.

I needed to get my truck inspected in a hurry late in the afternoon. I called 2 other places and they couldn’t help me. When I called Jim he told me to come by and he would squeeze me in. They had me in and out in less than 15 minutes even though they were clearly very busy with other repairs. This is my first visit but it won’t be my last. I definitely recommend Jim and his crew!

Jim has been my go to mechanic for the last two years and I have to say, he has saved me a lot of headaches. Not having a car note is golden. I have a 2017 Ford Explorer. We just reached a little over 125,000 miles with lots of life left. However, the little things, need maintenance.

You know that feeling when you first start dating someone and it gets you a little excited, that's how it is driving my car again. The suspension system, including control, arms, shocks, struts, brakes, rotors, motor mounts, and multiple other things of all been rebuilt by his careful crew of professionals.

He is punctual and timely and respectable guy. I cannot recommend him more as a car doctor.

A few years back, I had all four of my struts replaced, only to find out from the dealer later that one of the CV boots had been knocked loose, likely during the NorthWest Auto strut repair. I took the car back to Jim, and he corrected the problem at no cost to me, despite it being highly labor intensive. I appreciate that he stands behind his shop’s work and is willing to put customers first to make it right.

A little overpriced, but overall honest and quality work. I dropped my car off for the check engine light Saturday before closing. The owner told me he would have the diagnostic done Monday and the work completed by Tuesday. He met all the timeframes he said he would, got my check engine light off, and it hasn’t come on since.

had both my car and my moms car sent here and had amazing service. i was in an accident and my front end came off and Jim was able to fix everything perfectly for a good price. Even when my passenger window got shattered due to a break in he was able to help me out and fix it for me. He did a flawless job and even cleaned my car out for free. My mother’s car had a couple problems too with her engine and her brakes and Jim was just fantastic. He accommodated my mother by giving her time to pay and create payments when she wasn’t able to afford the full service. This place is a wonderful place with wonderful people. If you’re having problems with your car, do come here for great service, kindness, and warmness. Me and my mother are both so grateful.

I came to northwest Houston auto repair and they took great care of me, needed new front brake pads and rotors and they did an excellent job, great customer service and very knowledgeable. I appreciate them taking care of my needs, definitely would come back to get future work done.

Brought my car here for electrical issues. They were able to check it out same day and called saying it was my alternator. Cost of replacement and labor was to be $900. I called around a few other places all saying that was high.

I called back asking for confirmation that they knew that was the issue. They said they use a computer to take out the guess work.
I had to pay the $140 diagnostics fee since I didn’t use their service which was stated before hand, but a bit steep in my opinion.

I went to another mechanic who performed the alternator test in front of me showing a steady 14.2 volts, then he did my battery showing low (sub 10 I believe). It was a simply a new battery to fix the issue.

Will not return here, nor would i recommend to others.

I have been here twice now and have had positive experiences both times. The staff I interacted with have been friendly and helpful. They had a pretty fast turn around on servicing my car and plugged a leak in my tire for free. I would recommend them and will likely continue using them for as long as I am in the area.

I took my vehicle into Northwest on Saturday with an urgent need to get service turned around. Jim was very responsive to my needs, gave me fair pricing and exceeded my expectations, as far as timing and quality of service. I had a great overall experience.

I have been coming here for a couple of years now. I have had work done on my Mercedes, my wife's Mercedes, my F150, my son's Toyota and my daughters Nissan. I have had everything from an oil change, a new radiator, a new transmission and suspention work.They always do great work and if i have had any issues they were quick to correct it. They are honest, prompt and communicate well while they have your vehicle. They may not be the "cheapest" shop around but, you get what you pay for. I have recommended them to multiple people and everyone has been happy with the services the provided.

I really cannot say enough good things about my experience working with Jim and team at NW Houston Auto Repair. I had been using them for my oil changes but recently needed a new windshield and body work. The lines of communication couldn't have been more clear, the customer service top notch, and the prices were fair. In past experiences with other shops, they have really tried to take advantage of me with the cost of repair. Complete opposite of my experience with Jim. Cannot recommend them enough and very pleased with the level of service that I received.

Don't bring your car here for anything major. Sent car in for ignition and he wanted to install a new engine and charge me $4,600 (which seems to be a common number here in the reviews). Asked him to only do the ignition and wanted to charge me over $500 which is ridiculous. He first told me he was able to start the car and then told me the motor was locked. If a motor is locked it won't start. Even the tow truck driver who brought the car back home was laughing about the prices and told me I am not te he first one he's heard this shop has tried to RIP off. Later on he wouldn't even respond for the estimate that he charged me for.
He claimed the labor is the expensive part. Damn he must be the best employer in TX paying that much ???
Long story short...somebody else did it for not even half the money he was asking for.
