Nobody is happy when their car gets towed—especially when you’re paying $330 overnight to get it back. So no, this isn’t a glowing review about the experience itself. Getting your own car out of impound is stressful, expensive, and honestly a little depressing.<br><br>That said, I do want to give credit to the people working at Harwin Auto Storage.<br><br>My first phone call was answered by Bill. While he was helping me, I could hear someone else waiting at the window, but he never rushed me off the phone. I was trying to find information he needed and took a little longer than expected, yet he stayed patient and explained exactly how much I would owe if I picked up the car that day versus keeping it additional days. Because of the information he gave me, I rushed to get the car before more storage fees accumulated.<br><br>When I got there, I found out my battery was completely dead. Unfortunately, you can’t charge your vehicle inside the yard, and there are certain rules that have to be followed, so the only option was to have a tow truck pull the car out. The tow truck driver was kind enough to spend extra time helping me jump-start the car, which I really appreciated, especially in this Houston heat.<br><br>While we were figuring things out, Bill also helped me find a safer place to leave the car instead of parking on the street. He never smiled much, but honestly? He didn’t need to. He was patient, professional, and willing to help even when it went beyond the basics of his job.<br><br>The whole experience of getting your car out of impound isn’t pleasant, and Harwin Auto Storage definitely looks intimidating the first time you go there—lots of cars, fences everywhere, and honestly it feels a little like a movie junkyard. If you’re picking up your car at night, I’d recommend bringing a friend instead of taking an Uber alone.<br><br>I hope I never have to come back, but if life puts me in this situation again, I appreciate that there are people like Bill who make a stressful day a little easier.<br><br>Approved by your Review Queen and empowered by Monkey King Media.
Very poor customer service, I got here to collect my car and they told me the system was down, I waited for two hours and asked her if she can tell me about any other solutions or at least write a document so that I can come back tomorrow with a prove that the system was down, her reply was "It’s not our fault, we are not xfinity" then I asked for her name or if I can talk to the manager and she went mute on me and every other person that was there. Mind you all of these was at 2am.
They towed my car and it was only parked in my son's raggedy apartments 3 hours. He went to her his kids to bring them to my house for my granddaughters graduation. Not only that this man lied and said they have no change and it's a storage place and he was very very rude. He don't tell anyone they don't give change over the phone he waits until you get there to say it. He's very disrespectful. Scamming people out their money. I pray these people never your y'all. I'm suing the apartments complex and then.
I mean my car got towed from my parking spot at my apartment complex soooo... other then this place was okay. The gentleman at the entrance window did provide me with helpful information. Service was very fast. Sign says must notify 1 hour ahead before picking up your vehicle. How ever we didn't have to wait any where near as long. I was there and driving off with my vehicle in less than 15 min. Ohh & my car was towed May 3, 2026 at 5am. I located my car on the same day May 3, 2026. I arrived at this location to claim my vehicle around 5:30pm. So from 5am to 5pm I had to pay about $350 to drive off with my vehicle. You must have Insurance & or car title to pick up & drive off with your vehicle. Front desk employee mention the holding fee would change & rise at exactly 9 am. The longer u wait & hesitate on the pay the more money it will cost to take out
Unfortunately my vehicle was towed, but got it out immediately. The VERY helpful and extremely pleasant guy (PJ) worked the window and was wonderful. I have not one complaint or problem.
Absolutely phenomenal experience. Truly. Got my car towed from my apartment because I didn’t put my handicap sticker up, love that for me. But shoutout to them for making the process so memorable.<br><br>For just $306, I got the full experience of standing in line, reflecting on my life choices, and eventually getting my car back in perfect condition with no damage at all. So at least they’re careful while they’re ruining your day.<br><br>Now let’s talk about the front desk. My guy, you have got to pick up the pace. This is not a therapy session. We do not need a full conversation with every single person in line. It should be simple. Handle the transaction, be direct, and keep it moving. If someone doesn’t have what they need or is being difficult, tell them to move around so the rest of us can get helped.<br><br>There was way too much unnecessary back and forth when it could have easily been here is what you owe, here is your paperwork, next. Stop entertaining all the extra talk and get people in and out so the line can actually move.<br><br>Overall though, incredible experience. 10 out of 10, would definitely get towed again, not by choice of course. The service provided was unsatisfactory. The cost of jump-starting a car was exorbitant at $60, and the cost of storing a car for 1.5 days, after it was towed, was $400. When I arrived, I inadvertently left my car keys behind. having already made the payment, I requested a receipt. However, the attendant insisted on having me sign a document acknowledging receipt of the car. I politely declined, stating that I could sign upon my return. The attendant then started shouting, claiming that a refund was possible and that I could pay again upon my return with the keys. I agreed to the refund and the payment upon my return. Subsequently, the manager informed me that future payments would be required in cash, not by card. She became increasingly agitated, questioning my reasons for my actions. My sole concern was adhering to the established rules and refraining from any form of coercion towards customers. It is a disgrace that Houston police are using this storage facility.
The fruit loop employee deserves his own negative review! But since he represents this business know they add on an additional $100 for you to collect your car! They lie about when it was towed to get that fee! He was so jealous of the car I drove, how I articulated my description of my corvette he told me to call the police because he wasn’t giving me my car! Imagine I’m already perturbed and he thinks he’s all woman and wants to argue with me, an unescorted black woman! I refused to give in! When he saw the police though he changed his attitude! This place rides in parking complexes to tow and make money! Sad! Their employees are sad too!
I parked to get a cup of tea that was like 4 minutes, and they toed my car. It seems like they were hiding waiting for anyone to park once the driver locked the car and give their back to the car they quickly tow the car. That was terrible.
This place is always towing my car when it's registered properly, parked in the right spots. And when it's time to take it out, they always come up with some issue to hold the car even longer. They really know how to ruin your day.
Zero integrity and predatory to no end. Brother's truck got towed and charged an additional $50 "notification fee" for a non-existent notification. They even admitted the charge is from them. Will be taking action.
Got my truck towed, with no signage posted, when asked to see where it says they can take my vehicle, the driver proceeded to laugh and claim he was going to take my catalytic converters off when it gets to the lot. I proceeded to take a picture as he though it was funny, will be taking further action, if they take your vehicle while your parked in front of the A&P pawn, the cindies and all that off Westheimer and you walk across the street to the food trucks and walk back and your vehicles gone, just walk down the road to the auto zone they park all the vehicles they stole that night, right there till somebody pays them
Parasite business, these people love ruining your day. Tiniest singular towing sign I have ever seen.<br><br>Granted they did give me my car back speedy, but it’s a total scam that we allow them to charge $310 for having my car for one hour.<br><br>They had my car in mud now will need a full detail, great way to start off my Sunday morning.
My car was towed unlawfully from my apartment complex- plates correct, and not in a reserved spot. When I finally got my car back, not only did I notice there was towing damage to my car, but that someone had been IN my car- my driver's seat was pulled back like someone larger had been inside it, a backpack with precious items in it was stolen, AND they had the audacity to flip my plate over, so that you can't read the plate- obviously to save their own behinds. If you get your car towed from this place, dont bother talking to them, they dont want to hear it. Just sue. Sue, sue, sue. They will damage your car, go INSIDE of it, and literally rob you of your belongings AND money. Expect a hefty lawsuit from me, Harwin. This is the most vile, illegal business I've ever seen, and I have no idea how they are still in business, when the police have been involved with them multiple times. I would be disgusted with myself and seriously considering my life decisions if I was involved with this company.
Forget the cost of taking out your car, the person at the window is extremely RUDE. Honestly, even though the cost is outrageous I was more upset at the way employees treat their customers. And Im sure they don't care about reviews Just a heads up be prepared to get yelled at because you missed an initial or something. Extremely bad service all they want is your money.
Towed my car for no reason whatsoever :) was parked in a spot I had a permit in, with the correct license plate number on it. They literally wrongfully towed my car, point blank period. And sat on hold with them for an hour (they're only open for an hour, by the way) so once I can finally get my car back, they're either going to let me get my car back for free, or I'm going to sue don't bother calling them, they either let the phone ring with no way to leave a voicemail, or they put you on hold until they close. Just show up, and make sure to take pictures of your car for damage before you talk to anyone, because they're known to damage about every vehicle they tow.
they towed my car right in front of me as i was leaving an establishment, my car was not even hooked up or lifted yet and they refused to let it down which is illegal. my car was there for about 1 1/2 hours and the fee to get it is outrageous, also gave me a hassle about my insurance.
$300 to tow a car just one block? This is outrageous and completely predatory. They take advantage of residents at Artisan West Apartments with zero accountability. It’s clear they’re just looking to squeeze money out of hardworking people. Totally unfair and abusive.
wrongfully towing customers parked in the lot while eating in a restaurant. the restaurant owner was kind enough to call the tow truck driver, but he refused to release the car, trying to force us to pay him $100 to bring it back before he got to the lot, which is illegal. they held the car for 2 hours and left us stranded. the restaurant owner had to drive us to pick up the car because they were being so uncooperative and rude and money hungry. to everyone working here: get a real job.
This place towed two of my vehicles, although I had the proper stickers on them. Their wrecker drivers failed to properly check both vehicles. Until my HOA quickly got involved, they refused to refund their mistake. They were going to pay me my money back one way or another. Google "tow court" in Harris County. The tow company isn't always right.
My truck was stolen! While I was visiting Houston mind you I’m from San Antonio. (3hr drive) worst experience of my life! It was towed from private property where it was abandon & stored in harwin auto storage. Fred was so helpful! He was a tremendous help!!! After reading the reviews I was scared. Lol. But the process was very smooth and easy! Thank you Fred for helping me out! I appreciate you!!!!!
They towed my car in less than 5 minutes as I was delivering DoorDash at an apartment. Really unfair considering there was no parking spots around. Makes me feel like whoever placed the doordash order set me up and is working with this company and just hunting delivery drivers to park at that apartment complex to get them towed. It was so fast and they where around the corner just waiting.. So immoral.
I feel like they hunt innocent people to tow their cars when the patrons are not clearly parked inappropriately. In parking lots without clear signage to indicate that there is no parking in that lot. The workers are very rude on the phone and hang up multiple times when confronted about the poor business practice. We called the police and the police agreed that signs are not clearly visible.
Terrible Service and Horrible Experience!<br><br>To start off the vehicle in question is a rental car from Alamo from the Austin Texas Airport. I had the worst experience with this towing company and their storage lot. First off, they towed my car without any proper warning at 2am from a residential neighborhood , even though I had parked in a clearly marked area that was fine. When I called to inquire, the staff was rude and unhelpful, making me feel like I was an inconvenience. When I asked for the reasoning why the car got towed in the first place they said the car did not have registration which I explained to them that it was a rental car from Alamo. Upon arriving at the storage lot to pick up my car, things only got worse. The lot was poorly maintained, with cars parked haphazardly and no clear signs of organization. I had to wait for over an hour just to retrieve my car. The staff at the lot seemed completely uninterested in addressing any of my concerns, and there was zero accountability for the damage to my vehicle. On top of that, the fees were outrageous, and I felt completely taken advantage of. The storage lot where the took the car made me pay $309.36 from my own pocket even though it wasn't my personal car. I would never recommend this towing company or their storage lot to anyone. If you value your time and your car, avoid them at all costs!
This place and the workers are a WHOLE mess. Firstly, They towed my car from a store ten minutes away despite me being a paying customer at the store they towed it from. I had to uber here for the manager "Freddie" to be an absolute joke of a manager clueless of what was going on. I tried explaining to him that his tow driver told the store manager my car would be released for FREE considering it was taken to the lot by mistake . He caught the worst attitude and threw my ID in the drawer and told me I had to pay, After speaking with his tow driver and confirming they took it by mistake THEN he wanted to release my car for FREE as should've in the first place and I got my uber money from the worker at the store, and DID. It took more than two hours waiting in line at a facility that is supposed to be open 24hrs. Even after we got through had to wait more than an hour to get my car since it was blocked by a truck that they said they couldn’t move when they put it there in the first place. Mind you they have a sign saying they’ll get your car out within an hour of showing evidence of ownership and paying. This place should be closed
Very unprofessional tow truck drivers you guys have! My patrol vehicle has been left damaged , and you guys are not making yourself responsible for it.
I called 2x before I went to be sure I had everything to get my car, no answer. When I got there, the lady in line infront of me told me their system was down and to email my digital car insurance. Glad she did because the worker was very rude to the lady in front me. She tried to explain her car wasn't even there for 24 hours why he is she being charged for extra days. Very rude to her.
The towing company that towed my car was terrible. They made me wait an unreasonable amount of time to pay, and the process was incredibly frustrating. Their customer service was poor, and I would never want to deal with them. Avoid this company if you can!
