Honest feedback — update after the issue was resolved. I paid ~$4,500 for transmission work done here in November. The initial repair took about 2.5 weeks, required me to pay for a rental car out of pocket, and I had to follow up multiple times just to get my car back. After the repair, the car still had issues. An alignment problem was later identified and fixed through a referral, but the shifting issue remained. I returned the car in late January for follow-up warranty work. The follow-up process involved repeated delays, missed completion dates, changing explanations (electrical, mechanical, parts), and a lack of written updates. I had to rely on Ubers and spend significant time chasing information. Update: The car is now repaired under warranty and I picked it up on Thursday. While the repair was ultimately completed, the process involved significant delays, poor communication, and repeated follow-ups. I hope future customers receive clearer timelines and better communication. I do appreciate the effort the shop put in, but it’s unfortunate the steps I had to take to get the repair completed.

"0" Stars!! I would be very careful doing business with this place. Don't let the name on the building factor in your decision of doing business with them. When it comes to warranty issues that they cannot seem to get right, you cannot go to another location. When it comes to legal matters, they are individually franchised and whatever legal outcome will only affect the 1 shop you are dealing with. Ask yourself (and them) these questions before leaving your vehicle here; How long will the repair take? When it's your initial visit and they are scheduled to get paid upon vehicle return, they will most likely have your vehicle back to you in a week or less. Communication is there and they will even send you text and email updates. All is well up to this point. Here's where it gets shady.....If you have to take your vehicle back because the vehicle was not repaired correctly (warranty return), how long will the repair take this time? My experience was up to 6 weeks per stay. I had to return my vehicle 3 times after the initial repair and to this day my transmission is still not working properly along with check engine light being on since I got it back from them. Since the warranty return could be a lengthy stay, will they give you a loaner since now you are back not because you want to but because they didn't repair your vehicle correctly. Their answer was a NO. If you have to rent a car while your vehicle is there for extended periods of time, will they help cover rental expenses? That answer was also a no for me. After my vehicle was there for the 4th time to fix the same transmission issue I asked to be able to take it another location. That was also a NO because the repair must remain where initiated. Since they obviously could not fix the issue, I asked for a refund so that I could get my transmission repaired elsewhere, that answer was a NO followed by their shady policies. Through out this whole process Robert kept assuring me that the truck was being worked on. Meanwhile I drove by and saw my truck parked in the same spot for weeks. The district manager David, takes no responsibility for their lack of professionalism and inability to conduct repairs that they agreed to do. My opinion, I don't believe they did any warranty work the 3 times my vehicle was there after initial repair. Every time I got it back it was the exact same issue. If you cancel payment on them due to them not rendering services that you paid for, they will put a lean on your title and come tow your vehicle from your residence. And that is how they end up with a car lot. Predatory practices in this place. Hope this helps you make the right decision on whether or not you choose to elect them as your transmission specialist. Trust me, there are no specialist there, just people that know how to work the system to take your money. **In regards to your response: Your corporate office does not care. During this prolonged situation no one cared to return my calls or answer any of my emails that I sent. So your response to reach out to corporate is insincere and and attempt to make your practices legitimate.

My SUV was sitting on the side of my apartment for some months I thought I buy parts for my truck I thought I be driving it to work but my brother law told me about this place Mr Robert call me and ask me what wrong with my truck I told it want move so he told me he going to sent a wrecker truck to pick up my truck and they did I was so happy I then Robert call me and told me what wrong with my truck I was sad what he told me it was my transmission is bad I was saying how is I going to pay for that But Mr Robert told me don't worry my self he can work with me so he did that is so nice they help you out and be patient I want to say thank you for helping me and my family out I refer people to go here they are professional and tell you what wrong with your car please go here and thank for getting my truck back moving God blessed you all

So I’ve actually never brought my car here however a few months ago I was stranded without gas and I pulled over near this business. I walked across the street to get a tank of gas. It was my first time using the red gas tanks and I count figure out how to get the nozzle to work. A few minutes later a kind older Hispanic gentlemen that works at this shop helped me. It was a small gesture that went a long way.

I tried to save money by initially going to competitors. Long story short, my car was still having trouble, and I was out allot of money… smh.. never again… I should have just came here first! Communication was great and they diagnosed my cars problem right away! I got my car fixed up within 48 hours at a great price! Will never use another transmission shop as long as i live here!

Great experience from start to finish. I came in with a transmission code on my Infiniti q50 and the team took care of it the right way. Robert, the tech, clearly knows what he’s doing — you can tell he’s experienced and takes pride in his work. Jack at the front desk was professional, helpful, and kept everything smooth throughout the process. They took their time to make sure the work was done correctly, not rushed, and it shows. My car honestly feels like new again. Highly recommend this shop if you want quality work from people who know what they’re doing.

Made an appointment online, was called by this shop on 12/22 and scheduled an appointment on 12/26 at 11 AM. Showed up on time, Jack told they didn't have an appointment for me and could not fit me within the next two days. Called back the number that had previously contacted me after leaving, Jack answered and confirmed the number was for this Heights location. Clearly can't keep an appointment. Won't be getting my business in the future.

I took my vehicle to A Plus after a referral from a coworker. Robert was very courteous and walked me through the entire repair process. Repairs were made in a timely manner and at a reasonable price. My dealership usually takes at least a week for minor issues, never provides updates without me having to call and ask, and charges an arm and a leg. I will definitely refer others to A Plus Transmission and bring my vehicle here for any other transmission related repairs I need.

I Had an issue with my vehicle not starting consistently. I contacted Robert, the manager, and he had one of his employees meet me where I was stranded to give me a jump start so I could drive to his shop. They tested the battery there to find out it was no good. Robert reached out to auto zone on my behalf to swap out batteries since it was under warranty. Once the new battery was installed he sent out his employees to drop it off at my residence so I could be able to drive it to work the next morning. This owner, and shop, for exceeded any expectations I had regarding customer service from a auto shop. I've recommended them to several friends and colleagues who were also more than satisfied with the attentiveness and level of care they put forward for their customers.

When I say do not take you car to this place I watch my car sit for 5 months while being told it was being worked on even came in took pictures of the car sitting outside the shop not being worked on when I was told by Robert it’s in the shop now my car didn’t move until I told him that I seen it sitting outside the shop when he told me he was working on it not to mention I’m still paying a car note I have called him multiple times telling him how this is messing with my everyday life even told me several times it will be ready tomorrow for 5 months that’s all he tells me I’m waiting on parts or either we can’t find out the problem my warranty company offered to send a transmission but he say it would be best to rebuild here we are 5 months later and my car is still sitting at his shop work paid for and everything once I came to the shop to ask what the problem was and the man got all hyped up on me basically told me to get out his shop please before you take your car here read the reviews

I was referred to this shop so when I dropped off my car, I was expecting to here really bad news, but I was pleasantly surprised by the generosity and integrity that I experienced. Robert and the team diagnosed the issue quickly and fixed it at no charge. I would have gladly paid but Robert assured me that it was a rather simple fix and that he would be happier to send me on my way. It is rare that I leave a shop and feel like I trust them and want to go back. I will definitely go back if I ever need transmission repairs.

Truck overheats since trans rebuild. Dropped it off and couldn't get it back for a week. Discovered today the transmission cooler is MISSING. They literally stole my aftermarket transmission cooler and then they're wondering why the truck overheats. I don't have time for this bullshit and now they won't answer the phone. Great shop ? never go there. They literally asked for this review too

Robert and his team were amazing throughout my transmission repair experience! I was upfront about wanting to understand what was going on in my car and Robert took the time to explain what they checked and what the results were, and therefore what would need to be replaced versus what was still fine as-is in the car. At no point did I feel like he was being vague just to add in extra repairs and $$, which was a lovely breath of fresh air after my experience at another shop I’d had the car at that tried to tell me everything needed to be replaced but couldn’t tell me why and did the tired “you’re a woman so I’ll assume you don’t know cars & we can take your money” bit. A Plus Transmission was amazing at meeting my expectations and treating me as an equal, what a relief! Robert was very communicative and answered all of my questions. The pricing was very fair for the parts and labor involved, and the team was great to work with while coordinating my car being towed to the shop. I’ve been singing their praises to all my friends and will be recommending A Plus for any transmission issues!

I had to make a Saturday appointment several days in advance and when I arrived they informed me they had no transmission fluid available if I had needed any. Not sure how a transmission shop doesn’t or shouldn’t have fluid. Then they explained I had to sign a waiver that basically excluded them from responsibility if after exchanging trans fluid, which was the reason for the appointment, that if the transmission started to have problems they would not be held accountable. WOW! Since I had to cancel my appointment that morning I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. The service guy in the office who only works on Saturdays said the other service advisor would call me to reschedule which also never happened. Not that I was ever going back. There must be a better transmission business than this one. I can’t recommend this business and I am glad it worked out the way it did.

I recently had A-Plus take a look at my vehicle needing transmission work. The staff at A-Plus were wonderful to work with! Robert maintained excellent communication and transparency and helped guide me to the best decision for my vehicle and my situation. By far one of the most open and honest experiences I've ever had with a repair shop!

We paid over $3000 to have the transmission fixed! They wanted their money upfront and received it. My car was taken back twice and on the way up there now for the third time because the car stopped functioning. I was not able to change gears nor operate the vehicle whatsoever. At this point, Robert and all the employees are playing with my money and time. This is unacceptable!!!! Very disappointed and very unsatisfied *UPDATE!!! Since this company has changed this transmission, my vehicle have not been running well since. I was getting another issue fixed in the vehicle and my new mechanic man said the new transmission that we paid over $3000 for was BAD. You people KNEW this was NOT a new transmission put into this Impala. The part this company changed was a used part from a junk yard! Here are the pictures to prove it! This is why this world is SAD BECAUSE INSTEAD OF DOING RIGHT BY PEOPLE WHO WORK SO HARD FOR THEIR MONEY, you take advantage of them. It’s not hard to do the right thing! Of course the warranty is now expired but if ANYONE think we have a case, please let me know so we can lawyer up.

I was referred to A Plus by another mechanic to look at my F150's transmission. Robert had is guys look it over and realized it was not my transmission but my front differential. They were very quick and did not charge me a fee for diagnosing the real problem. Even though, they didn't do any work for me, I was impressed with their professionalism and will definitely use them in the future.

I recently purchased a 1997 Lincoln Town Car with only 29k miles. I thought It would be good to get the transmission fluid changed so I made an appointment. When I got there and spoke with Robert he suggested it would be best to leave the fluid in there because the new fluid has lots of detergents in it and may cause more trouble than help. It makes a lot of sense. Robert's a great guy and fun to talk with. He shoots it straight. He could of easily of taken my money and changed the fluid. He thought of his customer (me) instead of the bottom line. Well Robert and A Plus Transmission...You've got a customer for life! Thank you Robert and Happy Birthday tomorrow 8/11.

Ask for robert, he’s a super cool and friendly guy and he’ll take good care of your transmission issues. I brought in my old mitsubishi 3000gt when the transmission gave out, which is a difficult car to source parts for. He was there every step of the way and worked tirelessly until we finally managed to source a replacement transmission, which he had installed with no problems and gave me a surprisingly good price on! Car drives great and shifts smooth once again! I’m convinced A plus was the best possible place I could have taken my car to. Overall very happy with my experience, would recommend!

One of the BEST experience I’ve ever had dealing with car problems. Robert who is in the front office was extremely helpful and nice. Robert kept me updated and even got my warranty company to approve my claim because of Robert wonderful customer service I was very impatient about my car getting worked on because I knew it was in good hands. I highly recommend this shop. They even went the extra mile to make sure my car was running great before giving me the keys back! Thank you again A Plus!!!!

Edit: Went from 2 starts to 3 stars because after this review they did reach out to offer to get my car detailed to remove the stains. My car began to have intermittent starting issues because the transmission wasn't immediately engaging when it turned on. The dealer didn't have an opening for 3 weeks, so I decided to take the car to A Plus instead. They thought it was an electrical issue and apparently tested all the electrical components but couldn't find anything. This testing took about a week, and I had to call several times to check for updates despite asking for them to call me when they had updates. Since they couldn't find any electrical issues, the next step was to disassemble the transmission for an inspection which would cost ~$800. I told them to go ahead and dissemble it. Again, they kept providing deadlines they would have the work done by that they never met/even followed up on. I continued having to call to get any info on the car. Finally, I called one day and they let me know I would need to replace a number of significant components and the estimated price was ~$4000. At this point it had been about 2 weeks. I decided not to do the repairs and they said they would have the transmission reinstalled shortly. I asked that they call when they had more information. They provided an expected completion time that came and went with no communication. After about a week, I showed up in person to the shop to see where the car was and re-emphasize that I would really appreciate if they could call when there were updates (particularly if the deadline they provided passed). After showing up in person, they did begin calling me with updates. The reason the car was not ready to leave was that they were having some sort of issues putting the transmission back together and the car had developed a new problem of shifting hard. They were taking the transmission out again and going to reinstall it to see if the issue was fixed. After another week, they called and reported that they tried again to no avail. At this point, they waived the inspection fee because they had my car for so long. They also let me know that they were going to try to fix the problem so the car wasn't worse than when I brought it to them. Another week passed with now fix and no car. Eventually, I got a call from them saying that they didn't know what was wrong with it and there was basically nothing else they could do. After getting ahold of the general manager, he offered to go down to the shop and take a look himself. After a few days, the transmission was back to its original condition and I went and picked it up. All in all, the process took ~6 weeks to get my car back. I was pretty disappointed in the interior condition though. I imagine working on transmissions is very manual and exhausting work, and I could understand if grease was left on the door handles and hard plastic surfaces. Unfortunately, there was also grease left on several of the seats and upholstered surfaces. The people at the shop are nice enough, but I wouldn't recommend them if you don't have a lot of time to get you car fixed, don't want to have to constantly call for information updates, or expect any deviation from a transmission repair. TLDR; took 6 weeks to get my car back without any repairs and it came back with grease stains on the seats
