Was paid $2.69/lb for #1 insulated Cu. Less than 10 miles away at Gulf Coast Scrap Metal they're paying $4.50/lb. In what universe would an excuse exist for offering half of what your competitors are paying? Are we to believe your operating costs so much higher that it necessitates you paying your customers in peanuts? Super super weak.
Last time I ever come here always low balling, brought in clean Aluminum Extrusion told me it was about a dollar a lb old man at the scale count it as Aluminum sheet at 40 cents. Good thing i didnt bring the big doors ill be taking them to Houston Metals where they always pay top dollar double on what this old man steals from u. Been coming here for a while they have good prices but the new staff is lazy better watch them as i was unloading all my scrap they where throwing all my clean aluminum with the dirty breakage aluminum in attempt to weight it in as all dirty. As for my insulated wire they also threw it all in and counted it as low grade. Good thing i cought the aluminum in time and asked them to give back the aluminum breakage, they said next time better bring it back all seperated for them. They dont take into consideration the amount of time it takes to collect all the scrap one brings in to actually get a decent amount of money. ?
When was the last time the scales were checked? Things didn't add up weight wise. Seems sketch to me. One scale to check weight and the another to verify weight unloaded? Tell me that doesn't seem sketch. Not to mention how the scale seems to jump around and only in 10 lb increments varying 30lbs plus minus and the loading scale doesn't do that. I definitely have my doubts. I bet you would not be allowed to run through the loading scale to verify the 2 scales. I did not notice and state weights and measurements verification docs posted. But maybe I just missed them?
I've gone to this location several times before but ever since 2 weeks ago they hired new employees the guy sitting at the front has acted inconsiderate & rude towards me this is not acceptable It's to the point that I've had to stop coming there to recycle my scrap. I am very upset.
I loaded 8 burglar bars, heavy duty, gained muscle and strength onto my truck. Drove 41 minutes and was happy with the overall experience.
I went for the C&D experience and I knew I wasn't going to get hundreds nor thousands for my items. All I wanted was the $2 bills for my money collection.
I arrived surprisingly happy that the cars behind me gave me enough space while I had my tailgate down while driving relatively slow. That's a rarity when I have my tailgate up.
Right when you take a right on SW Plaza you'll go down a curving road right smack dab into the cul-de-sac of C&D Metal and a vehicle impound lot. You'll see lots of cars parked in the cul-de-sac and a long line waiting for the "vehicle storage".
Keep on trucking along into the C&D Metal yard. You'll see a hut with a young lady in it, you'll need to give her your driver's license, license plate id, the description of the items, and your address. Step out of the vehicle for this, she will make no effort.
Are you new? Are you new? ARE YOU NEW HERE? You'll be slammed with this repetitive question if you are new to C&D. I couldn't get away from it.
Now the lady in the hut may misinform you on where you need to go next. I was told to go to lane 1 inside the warehouse and that's where I met José. José, a very friendly Hispanic man that's very helpful and very detailed in helping customers on what to do next.

Drive around past the hut, to the long blue scale, wait for the green light and proceed to the junkyard. I weighed at 4000. Verde ding! I met José and a massive pile of scrap, it was as tall as the sky.
I offered to help, José unload; but he said he got it. That's just my personality. I made sure José didn't throw my walking sticks out as he didn't.
Next you'll drive left of the warehouse to the next long blue scale. I weighed at 3620. Verde, ding! Park in the front and go to the door that's open. Here you will see a dark, dimmed, and rigged up counter. Where you'll not be able to see the cashier at all.
It's a one-way mirror, reflective on side and transparent on the other. Is this a police interrogation?!
The cashier was so friendly, she expressed how she wishes her customers could see her. There's a process you'll need to do before you get handed $2 bills. She'll ask you to take a picture through the webcam, scan your fingerprint, and sign. You'll need to do this, TWICE. For your records and theirs.
Then she'll ask how you want your money, $2 bills or regular payment. I want what is advertised on the commercials and website. There you'll get a receipt, your payment, and a card to use again if you decide to come back.

The overall experience was outstanding! I will be back. The new location off of Reed Rd, will be more convenient and gas cost effective for me. It's opening Spring 2024 or sometime in 2024.
Was there today, excellent service, guys were very helpful, they requested manager to identify my aluminum, he responded immediately. Also , one of the cleanest yards in town
I've been coming here at least 4 times a week. I have always had great experiences till now. I noticed they changed the machine to unload on Monday. Came in today, and the machine is just not suited to unload customers. Guess I will be looking elsewhere as it seems C and D don't care enough to leave things as they are. The other machine was awesome as it could lift off even small heavy items with ease. This new one can't seem to be even able to reach inside of my pickup bed. High praise to Hassan and the crew, you all are awesome.
This place is amazing, security guard was super nice, the guys in the back were super friendly and helped guide me to the right places.

My first time here and This place is beyond a RIPOFF. I took my 2005 Toyota Camry engine which is about 200Lbs and some more scrap metal that’s about 400lbs and was given $68.80 IN TOTAL! Everything I brought in had to literally be worth more than that. Even the engine alone was worth more than $100. Hope this place doesn’t prosper, can’t dupe ppl like this. This is really beyond me.
Great group of guys with there. Honest, sunny cheat you like some of these places. They need to bring back the Serbian guy. That worked in the back by the excavators. Extremely helpful!!
One of the cleanest places to sell your scrap by far. Very kind and professional people that work here. The manager is very nice and helpful and treats you with respect and always ready to lend a hand when needed. Thank you. You will always have me as a customer. I will be coming back here to sell my scrap. And they pay in cash ?.
I have been selling scrap metal for many years and have done business at least once with the majority of the scrapyards on the west and southwest parts of the Houston area and hands down this has been the best of the all. Friendly people, honest and above board. Whereas most yards yards look like dried up mud pits mud pits and don't even think about going there going there when it's raining, this place is all concrete. The list can go on and on of how much better this place is than others. If you want a stress free time selling your scrap, whether you're cleaning your house or you work for a construction company, spend the extra gas to go to this place. It's worth it.

This place is a fraud! They stole 200$ from my mom when they told her that all the metal in weight was 390$ they only gave her 190! And when she went back for the rest the guy got red and started saying bs about giving her all the money when they didn’t! People have needs and they helping your business get income and u steal from them? Wooow
Was ok. I'm not pretty sure how is the metal price ($8 /100 pounds) was enough for some chocolates and the lunch. Five stars for control and Organization.
First of all H town is clean and you drive on concrete all through the process Both scales are generally working. People are friendly and efficient. I have been using H-Town for about three years and never had a problem.
The non-ferrous metals section is very good to weigh to metal and get you best price
I had an issue and spoke up about it...the general manager was kind enough to ask what happened and fix it. I been going here 3 years and always smooth operating and fast service...thank you for your business
Save your material and go somewhere else. I called and got a price for copper (#1 & #2), BB, but you get here and you can’t see the weight on the scale as it’s hidden from YOUR view, then you drive around to the front to collect and they change the price (within 30 minutes of calling).
They are anything but transparent, and definitely robbing customers.

Every time I go there I see smiling faces and they are very helpful if you can't get your own scrap off of your truck they will help you get your scrap off of your truck and the pay is excellent thank you H-Town scrap
Carla, Mohammed and then pretty lady Amy were most helpful and professional. I've never been to a scrap metal place where then employees were so awesome !! Hats off to those 3!! I found my new scrap metal home!!
Relative to other scrap yards I've come to find H-Town Scrap Metal sets the bar/ standard high in their efficiency, cleaniliness& preserving the integrity of customer bussiness through great employees customer service. Highly recommended
