I attempted to purchase parts on 3 different occasions, drove far away to get there, owner was rude and over priced, I really don't think black people should purchase from Tony, spend your money where it is appreciated.I don't care if it takes years to find the parts I need, never going back.
I didn’t have a bad experience I found some really good part, the only downside was the price was a little high but on the up side I founds some original parts.
Owner may not always be the most friendly, but I dont go there for the people skills. Pricing has always been fair when I go, and occasionally he will even give me some small insignificant part. Its great to have a classic car salvage yard nearby when all I own and drive is beater classic cars.
Great spot for those looking for parts for older cars. Prices seem to be a little inconsistent, but I still bought parts.
Sent a friend and he was glad to find parts he's been trying for years to find.
I had a great experience here. They have a fantastic selection of parts for my truck unlike any other place I've seen in Houston. I had help pulling the part I needed and paid a very fair price. I will definitely return to Tony's.
Good selection of some parts for older vehicles. Down side is the high price when compared to new old stock or reproduction items. Be prepared to pay the asking price or walk as they do not accept counter offers.
Dude wanted to charge me $50 for a duel tank switch. And you can literally get it for $15 and have it shipped to my door lol. Wanted to look and find things for my 89 dually and he just spits out prices like he thinks no one knows how much they cost. If you absolutely need it then don’t go
I went to Tony's after speaking to Airline and they recommended him because I was looking for 81 to 87 Chevy/GMC trucks. He has quite a collection of GM trucks from early 70's to early 90's. They were easy to work with and the price was very reasonable for the odd parts that I needed. They are strict about their engines and don't allow them to be picked for parts. They pull the parts for you- no picking yourself. I wish they were closer so I could get more parts.
They have lots of older cars and trucks from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, and newer. Most of the other yards only go back 10 years.
If I could I would give him zero stars. Overcharged me for my transmission, and then began to lecture me about how old trucks are better than new ones. Then when I found that the transmission was no good, he didn't want to help me out because I missed the 30 day guarentee by a few days (it's called being human and helping out the working class), so now I'm out 400 dollars. Never going back, even if they paid me.
Take you business elsewhere, they literally only have one mechanic on duty. If you are willing to spent more than 2 hours and have plenty of time to waste, then it's the place with you. But if you have other errands to do. Don't come here. People are rude and yell at you. They wanted to charge $25 for a small bolt. Seriously they are horrible.
I've spent close to half my life scouring junkyards and have never had an experience like this (first time in Houston). This guy has absolutely no idea what he's talking about. I went to buy a headlight and mount. Tony has no idea what a mount is and thinks that the car has a header panel. Then he went on some rant about getting terms correct (yes try educating the veteran parts salesman on terms, try me!). Then he proceeded to jump all over the place on prices. He wanted 200 bucks for a single headlight and mount that you can buy a full set (both sides) NOS (yes, BRAND NEW GM OEM) for 145 on ebay. His mechanic is incompetent as well and makes up prices on the spot. Then he went on to Nickel and Dime me about stupid trinkets and odds and ends and wanted very high dollar for flood damaged interior parts which I skipped on. He charged me 75 for a mount that you would get for 15 bucks anywhere else. I also needed a hood and grille, which he said would be 250 or 200 without the grille on the phone. He then proceeded to charge 150 for a grille, so is the hood 100 now, nope, 300 (screw that, keep your hood man). The only way I brought down any price and walked away with anything was to heap praises on his yard (which is actually really cool but needs new ownership), him (which I will never do again), and buy 2 things instead of 1 or "he's not selling it, buy it on EEEEEBAAAAYYY" in a condescending tone. I will never go here again and hope his 10 year streak of fiscally raping people brings his unprofessional, rude, sleazy a** business to a screeching halt. I highly recommend trying ANYWHERE else if possible. He also bases price on what you look like and if you speak Spanish or not. Tony and some of his employees make the whole salvage business look like trash. Rant over.
