What clients say about Fred Meyer in Seattle Hill (WA)
-
Great Fred Meyer location with a wide selection and a lot of convenience in one stop. It was easy to find what I needed, and the store had a good variety across groceries and household items. Staff were helpful, and the overall experience felt smooth and efficient.

You know it’s all about the little things in customer service! A simple Kind gesture will go along way! This guy just smirking at me when I asked to be let out, I asked for a Manager and he said he was one later to find out that he wasn’t!

Stopped by the Fred Meyer in Queen Anne — perfectly situated next to BevMo! and H Mart — and I have to say, the location alone makes it a convenient central hub. What really stood out, though, was the staff. They were fun, engaged, and chatting about current events and pop culture in a way that felt genuine and upbeat. I actually had to catch myself up on a few things they were discussing. It’s refreshing to hear people enjoying themselves at work — so comfortable and positive that they can share wit, culture, and personality while still being helpful. That kind of energy makes a quick grocery run feel a little more connected and human. Queen Anne charm in full effect.

Fred Meyer in Ballard is a well stocked store and has very good customer service. Also they do same day pickup orders so that you can make an order at 9:00 in the morning and pick it up as early as early to mid-afternoon on the same day. And so far to date they have completed all my orders and without errors and appropriate replacements when necessary. The time savings is priceless!

There seems to always be great deals in the electronics department. I bought a really fun drone for $40 marked down from $100.
Feb 14, 2026 -
It has a relatively good overall selection of merchandise, from produce, to toilet paper, to socks and is by far my favorite Fred Myer for clothing, with decent sales every now and again. But the employees are far from helpful or knowledgeable, and are not very personable to say the least.

I bought a pack of schick two slim extreme razors here the packaging is the same as it has been for 10 years but the razors are big bulky and not sharp I find it hard to believe their vendor completely changed their product packaged it the same and Fred Meyer didn’t know so basically I was ripped off buying the same product in the same package and got a dollar store razor for 10 times the price I think Fred Meyer ought to put more consideration into what they sell the public and if that product changes all but the packaging that is stealing I won’t buy another schick product and I’m seriously thinking about shopping at winco instead of Fred Meyer now!!!!!

Pros: They do have quite a lot available, including housewares, furniture, clothes, and groceries. The prices are competitive, and the store is clean. The staff is pretty friendly Cons: The men's bathroom was a bad experience thanks to a broken lock on a stall. It was staffed with a really nice guy keeping it clean, so not many points off, but I wound up giving up and painfully holding off until I could get home. Someone needs to repair the lock! Overall a good store, and the amount of people shopping here is a good sign that people agree. Just avoid the middle stall in the men's room if you need to go. ?

Love this store! Too many shop lifters, you can see them in the wide open! They just closed their jewelry dept which I'm pretty sad about. Otherwise it's the best store in Seattle next to Target that sells the largest quantity of great items with great sales at times.

Bathroom was filthy. Stall doors missing locks. Just came in to get a deli meal and had the lady there tell me that I don't really have a choice in sides because the sides I wanted were too expensive. Excuse me but I've gone to lots of Fred Meyers for lunch and have never heard of this. The sign says 2 small sides. Not these 2 small sides because they are the least expensive. Kind of crazy.

Great store for when you need all different stuff. Groceries, great wine section, HABA, clothing, home decor, dishes, home electrical, all there! It does mean it is spread out. Has some grocery items you might not find elsewhere especially international foods you cannot find at smaller stores.

filthy store. the produce section was destroyed and out of almost everything. the drinks section was the same. easily the most disappointing Kroger store in the city (that's saying a lot, bc I usually shop at the qfc at pike/Broadway lol)

Freddy's is a great place to shop, whether by car, walking, or bike. It's only a few blocks away, only about 45 minutes walking, take a shopping cart if you have a lot of groceries. It's a really great walk there. Enjoy!

I placed an online pick order and I’m pretty shocked to find that my 7 items were placed in 6 different bags. Of course they charge for each one of these bags but they looked at me like I was insane when I easily consolidated the items into two bags and left the rest. Excellent work Fred Meyer!! Why don’t you just toss the a few thousand of those plastic bags in the sound and get it over with.

The store was clean, there were no encampments anywhere near the store. The staff were willing to answer questions and help locate some obscure items I needed for a recipe. Then I went to the clothing section and needed a women’s size 3 for a high waisted skinny leg jeans. After 30 - 40 minutes we finally found the 1 pair in the store. Awesome.

This is my favorite Fred Meyer, and is always clean and well stocked. In a world of online shopping, it’s still nice to have a local store that has just about everything. The associates here are professional and friendly, including team member Keya today, who was especially helpful. ✨

This place is great. I like to shop, there without a cart nor basket every time I remember, so the security team can follow me around the place and NOT check my bag at the end when they look at my receipt for verification. Because they'll already know my every move, following me, not only on camera with someone watching but also with security workers in person watching me and a person at self-checkout in my peripheral counting the items I scan whilst thinking that I cannot see stuff in my peripheral. I don't shoplift so it's funny to have their team following me, knowing that someone else is being neglected. All I have to do is NOT use a cart nor basket. I

The people here are so very nice. I really do recommend this place. If you guys are traveling to the Seattle area this place has a lot of great stuff here they do way more better people around here. They help out a lot during the day.

Convenient location and good selection of items to choose from. Never had a bad experience there. Lots of homeless and drug addicts around the area. Glad they boosted up their security and are now checking receipts.

Prices are absolutely outrageously high in the beginning and middle of the month and some items are marked up way more than the legal % percentage. Security is unnecessary and they have guns. Horrible idea.. Vancouver and Portland Fred Meyer is way better

I always enjoy shopping at Fred Meyer because it’s a one stop store for almost everything. The aisles are clean and organized, and the staff are friendly and willing to help if I need directions or have a question. Their produce section is always fresh, and I like that I can get groceries, home items, and clothes all in one trip. The checkout lines move fast, and the store feels safe and well managed. Definitely one of the most convenient places to shop.

Listen, this place is typical a half hot mess most of the time. It’s huge to the point of overwhelming, security is a constant game of cat and mouse, staffing is up and down and up again, half the clothes are under lock and key so you can never try them on. Regardless, sometimes you just need that toilet paper your kid likes with a side of peanut butter, socks and shower curtain. The five stars in this review is specifically for Pierre. Pierre was the bagger of my groceries yesterday. Just getting a bagger is a minor miracle, but Pierre - Pierre is no normal bagger. Pierre bagged the most beautiful bags of groceries I have ever witnessed. All the frozen products together. Each bag equally weighted. My kids single drinks perfectly on top so they could grab them without tearing every bag apart. A work of absolute art. Witnessing a job perfectly done like Pierre did yesterday made me so happy. I’ll never forget it. Merci, Pierre. Merci Beaucoup.

Everything is locked up behind glass now and unfortunatelyit just so happened so many thingdls on my list were locked up that every 5 minutes I was asking for help, the gentleman that helped me was very patient and took each item up to self check for me to pick up and pay for, he was great it's just too bad they have to lock so much stuff up to protect from shoplifting. I'll just bet more people are going to turn to online ordering because of this. You know it's just such a hassle to get someone to help you on every isle like that. And bringing it up to the checkout while sort of a conscience really it's as if your going to try to steal it.... That doesn't really foster good customer relations.... .maybe they need to figure out a more pleasant way to handle things.... We will see a whole new approach to customer service before long, or at least I hope we do.....

This is the first time we have shopped there and it will definitely be the last. We are staying near Elliot Bay for a few months and thought we would try it because we have been to Fred Meyers in other areas and liked the chain. The overall store inside is actually great....it has just about anything you could want..a huge variety of food, clothing and furniture. We were in the store for about an hour getting groceries and when we came out we found someone had tried to break in to our truck. It is an older truck and the driver's door has a key lock. Something has been jammed into it and when that didn't work they tried to pry the entire door handle off. Fortunately that didn't work either but now the handle will need replaced as well as the lock. We went back into the store to report it and ask if video could be pulled as there was a camera right behind where we were parked. The gentlemen that we talked to at the desk was very nice said we would have to call the police and file a report and they would have to get the video from the store. We are pursuing it and the incident isn't the fault of the store of course but in hindsight the area isn't that great so we probably should have shopped elsewhere. There was a packed Tesla charging station right beside us so we basically felt nothing would happen and there were a number of high dollar cars in the parking lot. We can only guess someone felt our truck would be an easy target with the key lock. They would have been disappointed because there wasn't anything of value to steal! This could obviously happen anywhere but in all the years we've owned this truck no one has ever tried to break into it. A shame because the store is very nice but we obviously won't ship there again.

Let's their store employees + security guards constantly check and purchase Pokémon cards from the Pokémon machine while they are clocked in, working. Employees walk from checkout station to machine to check every few minutes. Edit: security guard checked machine as I walked into store EDIT: the store associate w a lanyard + badge touched the machine while I writing this review EDIT**: a 3rd employee, kept their dr. Pepper on top of the toy machine so he could take a sip n check the pokemon card machine each time he brought in carts, while i wrote this review

Good grocery store, overall clean supermarket. There is a wide selection of food and drink items, comparable to your local Walmart and Target. Fred Meyer chain supermarkets are notably very large, and contain a wide selection of items for your purchase. There are also a few home good selections such as furniture and decor. This location also has a garden center for plants and flowers.

An excellent selection of...just about everything. From gardening and home wares to a pharmacy and a Starbucks, and of course a great selection of food, produce, fish and meats. The prices are competitive and the store is well organized.

Title: Disappointing Experience Despite High Expectations As a Google Local Guide and frequent traveler, I always enjoy exploring regional grocery stores and sharing my experiences with the community. On a recent trip from Texas to Seattle, I researched the best grocery options in the area and Fred Meyer consistently came up as a top recommendation. With that in mind, I made a special effort to visit the Fred Meyer location on June 6, 2025, around 5:00 PM, eager to explore their offerings and write a helpful review for others. Upon arrival, I was initially impressed by the store’s size and variety, particularly in the produce section, which appeared fresh and well-stocked. As part of my normal reviewing process, I began taking a few discreet photos of the produce displays to accompany my review. However, my experience quickly took a turn for the worse. While photographing, a white male security guard approached me and instructed me—rather curtly—to stop taking photos, stating that photography is not allowed inside the store. His tone was unnecessarily stern, and his facial expression felt dismissive and unwelcoming. The encounter was both surprising and disheartening, especially since my intent was simply to provide a fair and informative review for other customers. After leaving the store, I reviewed Fred Meyer’s terms and general policy and found no clear indication that personal photography for review purposes is prohibited—especially when done respectfully and without disrupting other customers or staff. As a consumer and content contributor, I felt disappointed and, frankly, disrespected by the interaction. I can’t help but wonder if my appearance played a role in the guard’s behavior. As an Asian visitor, it’s hard not to question whether bias—conscious or not—may have influenced the way I was treated. I sincerely hope that was not the case, but the experience left me feeling unwelcome and excluded. Regrettably, the interaction ruined what could have been a pleasant shopping visit. I chose not to make any purchases and instead left the store feeling frustrated and deeply disappointed. I had genuinely looked forward to highlighting Fred Meyer’s variety and value to others traveling through the Seattle area, but I cannot in good conscience recommend this location based on how I was treated. While I acknowledge that Fred Meyer likely has quality products and a loyal customer base, customer experience is just as important as product selection. I hope store management takes feedback like this seriously and reviews staff conduct to ensure that all guests—regardless of background—feel respected and welcome. For that reason, I am leaving a one-star review. I believe in honest feedback and hope this helps improve the experience for future customers.

Very nice staff. I went in to use a voucher I had, and the customer service was amazing! I even love the Family Line, which means people have to be patient. Made my trip so nice!

-- cafe closed until further notice, seating area remains open -- WiFi doesn't work: can't log on at all. Very bad! -- bakery is really bad, sorry to say that: just a few bad muffins, all heavily processed stuff, no artisanal bread, no good muffins, doughnuts or rolls + friendly, helpful staff + smallish prepared food section with 2 or 3 soups daily. Tasty sandwiches and wraps + large fresh fruit and veggie section + show department carries wide sizes as well + self check out works fine; lady is super friendly ++ kids play area for small kids while parents shop + they have 2 or 3 special shopping carts, one black police-themed and a red fire truck one. Parents know how much kids can be looking forward to riding on these special shopping carts + soups have calorie values posted +/- seating area seems to attract some weathered folks with huge bag packs and multiple duffel bags
