I only have 60k mikes on a Ford E350 Super Duty I bought new and no more warranties of course. But when I found myself up the creek with no paddle Chuck at Ed's repaired my truck that i recently drove 12 hours round trip for a job interview over Stephen's Pass. I have no more fear, only praise for what he did.

Wasn't able to work on my car because they were too busy, but he called another clutch shop for me nearby and directed me there. Good, friendly, and honest.

I was referred to Ed's for a potential differential rebuild. Chuck test drove my car and told me it didn't actually need it in his opinion. I really appreciate the honesty and transparency here so I brought my car back when it needed new suspension. Ed's will be my go to shop for "under the car" repairs.

Thank you very much to the owner of this store, Chuck. He found my wallet and returned it to me. Inside are all my important documents and bank cards. He is a kind person who saved me. I cannot express my gratitude in words. I hope he works smoothly and everything is okay.

Needed to have my clutcher make-it-happener replaced. Chuck said it would be a couple weeks so's I nursed what was left of it. Day came and I pulled into the shop early morning. I shared my concerns I had with the pickle-fork and throw out berry's. He had the new clutcher in, checked the fork and put new dinosaur sauce with 12 supplements into the switcher machine. Shifts way smoother with positive engagement! Not cheap but neither is anything now-a-days. Thanks Chuck & Co !!

Ed’s was recommended by my “under the hood” repair shop as they don’t do “under the car” repairs. I wasn’t exactly thrilled about (1) driving past Northgate on congested I-5 nor (2) going into a business I don’t know anything about (3) dealing with a car mechanic I have never met and (4) I don’t know the first thing about a transfer case repair. I called to make an appointment and he couldn’t fit me in for three weeks out. I was greeted within minutes of showing up. He and his colleague explained they needed to test drive the car and then wanted to put it up so they could see underneath. The waiting area is clean for its’ age and overall the shop looked very organized. Chuck asked if I wanted to see underneath and showed me the leaky transfer case. Explained what needed to be done and an estimate. I agreed to the work and will be bringing my car back in a few weeks when he can do the repair. Friendly, knowledgeable and reasonable.

Chuck gears you right. I stripped the transmission drain hole on our CRV and he gave us a rundown of the different scenarios that it might take to repair it. This included installing another transmission. However, he was able to screw the drain plug with the remaining threads on the case. It is holding after two months. He added fluid and it runs better than previously. Thanks Chuck!

Affable, honest, genuine, and legit. Chuck and Bill (a.k.a. 'Carl') are Jedi master mechanics! They are also extremely generous with their time, knowledge, and expertise. They are very transparent when it comes to the costs of parts - in my case they gave me a lower priced (lower quality) option as well as a better quality option while explaining the differences and never once trying to influence my choice either way. ⁷ guys are the mechanics we all silently pray for when auto repairs or maintenance is required.

I brought my truck here to investigate leaks from the transfer case and rear differential. I couldn't be happier with the service I received. Unfortunately the transfer case had a cracked housing and needed to be rebuilt, but I was kept up to date regularly through the process, prices were broken down for me, and the whole service was much quicker than I originally expected. I will be coming back for any driveline work that I need done.

Spoke with chuck today and I gotta say he was great. Ive called over 20 transmission shops so far and the guy was honest and forthright with his communication. Pricing was high comparatively, but chuck still helped and communicated some key points with me knowing Im shopping around.

2nd time here. Great customer service and gets the job done! Honestly charges for labor! Had something fixed and they only charged $28 for labor.

The first man I spoke to was very nice, however, Chuck, the owner was condescending, rude, and macho. You know, the stereotypical ape-like man who thinks women are lesser? It’s a shame. I was referred here by No. 1 Japanese Auto Repair and all the other reviews are favorable, but unfortunately I did not have a great experience. No money will be spent here and I will let all my clients and friends know to take their business elsewhere. I too am in a service industry and would never make money if I spoke to people the way I was spoken to. Taking my car to Bernies Automotive in Ballard.

Got my car towed to Eds because as best I could tell there was something wrong with the transmission. That didnt end up being the case but Chuck and his team were awesome to work with. He was able to diagnose and fix the problem, despite it not being the transmission. Realistically had I known it was something other than the transmission I would have taken it somewhere else. But I would 100% use Eds for transmission issues. Chuck was super honest, helpful and straightforward to work with.

Honest, fair price, and know their stuff. All around great experience! I highly recommend.

I took my truck here with a blown rear end and a oil leak..when I got it back there was something terribly wrong with my truck,called them and notified them that they put the wrong gear ratio in and that my truck was shaking horribly when put in 4 wheel drive...they ignored what I was telling them and instead insisted that my oversized tires were the problem,no it wasn't...then they insisted that my front suspension was causing the problem,so I payed them to fix that,even though I found out later that the wrong gear ratio caused the problem,then my water pump failed and I went to them again...they installed it correctly but not the hoses...so it leaked at temperature...went back to have them fix that,again...and still explaining to them that I still have a oil leak and they needed to fix the problem with shaking in 4 wheel drive...the main mechanic then explained that if they took the rear end apart,again,that if nothing was wrong with it I would be held responsible for the cost...sure ok...so they removed the gears in the rear end and guess what...it was wrong...I spent thousands on other costs,which I found out later was most likely caused by the wrong gear ratio being installed...they in turn blamed the supplier for sending them the wrong part...when I finally got my truck back,after a year of insisting that they did something wrong...I was told my transmission was going to need work,after they charged me to flush it,well I never had a problem with it before...well they were right...and since going to another shop I found out that they didn't fill the fluid all the way so in turn it burned out 2nd and 4th gear...If I was you and your reading this...BEWARE OF THIS SHOP...I feel they caused the problems that I in turn had to pay for,granted my truck is 20 yrs old almost thirty and it needed work done but I payed thousands and feel I was scammed...definitely NEVER going back to this shop nor would I suggest it to ANY of my friends or family...oh...and the oil leak was never fixed by this shop,remember it was one of the original problems I had...they had excuse after excuse why they didn't fix that...save your money and look for a different mechanic...save yourself the head ache...

My clutch went kaput out of nowhere so I got a tow to Ed's transmission.The shop was near my home and their reviews are good. Chuck is a great guy; honest, forthcoming and friendly. He gave me a great estimate and explained the situation very well. He gave me a few calls to update me on his progress and estimated completion time. He replaced my flywheel and clutch for a good deal cheaper than other estimates. My car, no kidding, runs better than ever. Thanks, Chuck! If you have transmission trouble make the best of a s**t situation and give these guys a shot. You'll be pleased with the whole service.

Honest, Friendly, and Great Service! We had 2 teens stranded in N Seattle with a stripped clutch over the holiday weekend and not only did Chuck get the car in and fixed in a day, he even helped get the boys to a rendezvous with relatives for the overnight stay. THANKS Chuck!
