Called to ask if they refill propane - the man that answered was friendly and helpful. Showed up with 2 tanks, which were quickly filled and I was on my way, again with friendly and helpful service. Better propane price than most I’ve found when looking in Seattle. Will be getting my propane refills here!

I’ve rented from this company three separate times — and every single experience was worse than the last. I feel obligated to share this, because people deserve to be warned before putting their time, money, and safety at risk. The staff is consistently rude, aggressive, and completely unprofessional. They act like they’re doing you a favor by serving you. No customer service, no patience, and certainly no respect. Any attempt to bring up a concern or problem is met with attitude or simply ignored. Their equipment is dangerously old, poorly maintained, and in some cases barely functioning. Nothing seems to be serviced or inspected. It’s honestly shocking that these tools are still being rented out. Every time I picked something up, there was a new problem — hydraulic leaks, broken gauges, malfunctioning brakes, missing safety pins… you name it. To make matters worse, their pricing is deceptive. They pile on extra fees, surcharges, and random add-ons that you’re not told about upfront. The final invoice is always a surprise — and not in a good way. There are far better options in the area. Go to Aurora Rents. Their team is professional, polite, and actually cares. Their machines are clean, modern, and maintained with pride. The difference is night and day. Save yourself the stress, risk, and damage — stay away from this company at all costs.

I've rented trucks and tools from these guys, they're awesome and have always been kind and helpful. Way easier than dealing with bigger companies, but that's just my personal preference. Definitely my go-to!

For in town truck rental, i always go with these guys. they are straightforward, quick, no hidden bs like uhaul. (they do take a deposit upon rental, which varies around 400$ so keep that in mind) The equipment is beat up, but you prob won't have to worry about loosing a deposit over a stupid scratch or ding and If you get a truck with the check engine light not illuminated, go buy yourself a lotto ticket because it's your lucky day! i'll hands down support this local business anytime.

Great, friendly team and got us in a truck when no one else could for better pricing! Seriously, Handy Andy made it a breeze and was so helpful when explaining the truck usage. Fair and honest. Cannot recommend them enough! They also charged us the regular amount even though we returned the truck 40 minutes late. Will choose them for my next rental instead of Home Depot.

Customer service is nonexistent here. Will pick up your phone calls just to say hold on and hang up twice in a row, obviously not here to make money or help the community out. STAY AWAY GO TO HERCS OR UNITED EASILY.

An honest and friendly local business. They made renting a dump truck so easy. I just called and reserved one under my name for the day I needed it. Once I returned it, they even reimbursed me for a couple of gallons of gas when they compared my mileage to my refill receipt because they felt I shouldn’t have had to put so many gallons in based off of how little I drove it. I felt like that was a very honest thing to do and I trust this business so much that we will be sure to rent tools from them for our other projects instead of going to big name stores. So glad this small, local business exists.

Excellent place for rental for trucks of different shapes,and sizes, and for different varieties of tools. And for ready mixed concrete. Excellent honest customer service for years, same guy running & managing this place for generations, and in same location. Reliable, friendly, knowledgeable, easy to communicate with. Reasonable rates, and reasonable prices.

Terrible service. Don't believe what they say on the phone. I called a week before renting a trailer, we went through the vehicle I was using which is rated more than enough. When I went to pick it up they refused to rent the trailer. They based their "opinion" on the load capacity for a gas version when I have a diesel which is rated significantly higher towing. They just didn't care they were wrong. Don't waste your time, rent elsewhere.

This place was recommended by a nearby self storage business. Rented a van for a move for a couple of hours. It was my first time driving a van, owner was very nice and decided to show me how everything works. They charge a very reasonable amount and do not try to take advantage of loopholes like UHaul. The vans are also in great condition and clean. The entire process of reserving and returning was very easy.

They were mostly accommodating.the only thing that I would complain about is when I called to find out how much a truck rental was, although they did tell me the rental/milage price,, they failed to tell me that there was also a deposit that I needed to put down to rent the truck itself for $400. So, I was a little blindsided by the $400 deposit they asked me to put on my card until I returned the rental. The truck was great. It used very little gas for the mileage, so topping off the gas tank wasn't much of a big deal. The process of renting was relatively painless and would definitely choose them again.

I had to do a small dump run and needed to rent a truck. Forget all the other national chain places, they are a giant hassle compared to Handy Andy's. I was in and driving a truck within 5 minutes of arriving. Staff was clear and helpful. The place is a well used shop. The yard is no frills, the lobby customer service area is straight 1960s old Seattle and smells like solvent and 2 stroke fuel. The truck was in a similar state. Well used well running not the cleanest and smelled like burger king. It was perfect! I did my dump run and was back in about 1.5 hours. They charge a low flat daily fee plus .89 a mile. Highly recommend them if you need a truck. Apparently they do tools, too! Ps. There isn't any parking onsite.

All vehicles are in poor disrepair. Alignment dangerously off, pulsing Weak brakes-shaking cabin, Check Engine light On and more. During drop-off I shared this and the staff laughed at me.

Good experience overall. As others have mentioned the equipment is a bit on the older side, but functional. Not surprising considering they're one of the lower-cost options around. I did have an issue with the small excavator I rented. While in use, one of the rubber tracks ripped. I called the next morning and Handy Andy promptly had a mechanic onsite and fixed within minutes. Then, without even asking, I was comped the rental time that I missed due to the equipment breakdown. They've also got their in/out procedures down to a production line, so not much time wasted.

Handy Andy is a tool rental place right on Aurora pretty close by to Home Depot and Lowes. They have bigger equipment available, like trucks of most sizes and also do cement mixing on site. Their staff are nice, prices are pretty good, and they have equipment available pretty often, although you should always try to reserve something days ahead of time just in case. Their vehicles are pretty old and beat up, although they do what they are intended to do. Definitely a good place to get a truck for dump runs or delivery of bigger items or gravel.

Good service, employees were great, flatbed could use some better lights but all around well maintained and as others have stated: priced fairly for what you get. I'd give 5-stars if they offered a vehicle night-drop option. Also you'll have to find street parking for your car when renting a truck; normally not an issue but if carrying a full load of valuables makes it a little uneasy to park off-site. All in all, I'll take my business here again.

Great customer service, old trucks but functional. Very affordable and they took the time to show me how to use the lift gate. Quick in/quick out for both rental pick up and return. Convenient location at Aurora. Would recommend.

The place looks like something from a sci-fi movie derelict planet, so enjoy the sense of adventure. The liftgate truck I rented work very well. It was old and worn, but no functional problems. It had been cleaned, and appeared to be well maintained. The staff look a little scary, but the service is great. They were very helpful. I recommend them for truck rental. I have not used the other equipment, but I will give it a try when I need something they have.

This place is a hole in the wall and the trucks are very old (mine was 250k mi). However you can't beat the price! The staff was hustling to churn thru the long lines of customers at opening time. Not sure the history but it has a family business feel. My truck was mostly reliable: small issue with the hydraulic lift that resolved itself.

It's tempting to give them less than five stars, because the trucks are generally in poor condition. I think, however, that if I ever put a dent in one they wouldn't notice because they're already full of dents. You can't beat the price and I like the lack of fake smiles and that they don't try to recommend damage waivers. You want a basic, cheap rental truck or van for moving, this is the place to go. Just don't expect the air-conditioning to work or whatever. (Disclaimer: I haven't rented any tools from them.)

The equipment worked great, prices were affordable as it goes in that arena.

The kid behind the counter was about as smug and condescending as you can get. Refused to rent to me when I called him on it. The owner was more worried about the fact that I told my coworker, outside, that the kids attitude makes you wanna punch him in the mouth. He didn't seem at all concerned about the attitude and mouth on his employee. Lost out on alot of business from my company and any company I deal with. Today cost him a grand, easy. The future will cost him alot more in missed rentals. Truly hoping this review makes you avoid this place. Please like if you found this helpful.

100% Great service. Very good prices, nothing shiny-- except the staff. As a woman who's been walking into wrecking yards and heavy equipment businesses for nearly fifty years, this place is top of the heap for professional courtesy and not a whiff of any mansplaining nonsense. Good humor all around.

The ONLY issue I have with this place (because honestly, it is awesome that you can pay cash to secure your rental) -- I misplaced the rental truck key while moving, called Handy Andy, and was told that they did not have an extra key. I had to come out of pocket $300 to pay a locksmith to make a new key. Not cool. Who doesn't keep a spare?? Beware! As if moving wasn't stressful enough....

Rented a truck here to move some equipment. This place will be my first choice for that sort of thing in the future. No hassles. No attempts to nickel and dime you like U-haul likes to do sometimes. Just rented equipment that was exactly as advertised, was charged the price they advertised, got my stuff done, and returned the truck. No surprises at payment time. Painless. Imagine that. Also has a selection of special equipment -- various size lift gates, landscaping and light construction equipment, tools, etc. Prices are very reasonable all around.

I had the best experience when renting a moving van from them. I lost the keys (accidentally packed them) and they send someone out right away to take care of the problem. I was able to get the keys back to them a couple of days later when I unpacked. They were so great about the whole ordeal. Worth using every time!

This is a very scruffy rental place. guys are brusque, all business. The prices are reasonable / better than others. I rent there as a handyman pretty regularly. on occasion, when things don't work they make it good. When I have made the mistake of not filling the vehicle, the charge is expensive, but no more than stated on the form. Mostly good service, mostly equipment works well.
