My vehicle was towed from private property and held for less than 24 hours. When I went to retrieve it, I was charged $599 labeled as an “after business hours” fee, plus an additional $150 for a driver to come open the gate to release the vehicle. From my understanding of local towing regulations, the after-hours fee is intended to cover the cost of a driver coming out to release the vehicle. Charging an additional $150 for the same service appears to be improper. Additionally, when I attempted to retrieve my vehicle earlier in the day, I was told I could not pick it up until 7:30 PM. Now I see why so he could charge me more. Gary caused This delay intentionally to get more money out of me. Which resulted in additional fee toward his driver/worker to come and release my vehicle I was also instructed to bring cash only, and the company refused to provide me with an itemized receipt for the payment. I’m going to be reporting them for their illegal actions violating Seattle flat fees rates and charging for something that the after business hours fees should have covered

I started to wonder if I was talking to someone from the homeless encampment down in lower woodland. Dude on the phone sounded like they was full of resentment, so I looked up the reviews. Glad I didn't.

Avoid this company. My vehicle was towed from the IHOP lot while I was a patron, and the recovery process was riddled with legal violations. When I called to redeem my vehicle, they refused to release it until the following morning. This is a direct violation of RCW 46.55.060(7), which mandates that tow operators must maintain personnel 24/7 for vehicle redemption. Furthermore, they quoted and charged a total of $595, which significantly exceeds the Seattle private impound fee caps set by SMC 6.214.220. They padded the bill with 'Extra Time' labor fees, which are illegal for a standard private impound under Seattle’s flat-rate towing rules. I also observed discrepancies between the truck that performed the tow and the truck number listed on the receipt, which violates SMC 6.214.210 and RCW 46.55.150 regarding fraudulent records.

Seattle Strollers is a group of people who walk every Sunday morning 8am to 9 am and end the walk drinking coffee. This last Sunday November 9th we chose our favorite spot at U Village Starbucks. When we came back two one car was missing, towed by Gary's as we found out that we cannot leave the property. After talking with security guards who were not professional or sympathetic, we were told to pick up our car from there. This guy (I will not call him gentleman) was about to pick my car. Later we ended up going to the place where he had my friend's car. He was unprofessional, rude, angry so bothered that he had to work on Sunday. What an unpleasant Sunday morning. U Village is on our terrible place to visit list, security guards and Gary's Towing shall be send to charm school and I am sure that is their last job as no one will hire for anything welse

Just had the wildest experience with Bob from Gary's Westside Towing. I came home around 1:30am and noticed someone parked in my designated parking spot. I looked at the side of the building and saw Gary's number, so I called it. Bob answered and belittled me, using the F-word and telling me he couldn't tow the vehicle that was in my spot because I'm not the authorized user on the contract for the building, although I am the authorized user for my assigned spot. In my lease and on the emergency contact info for after-hours, it states to call the tow company and to just provide my ID for them to tow the unauthorized vehicle. He complained, saying my manager has to call, which is not true after business hours. I spoke to my after-hours emergency line, and they agreed to join a group call with me. We left a message, but Bob declined to answer, so we left a voicemail with authorization to tow the vehicle. The whole ordeal lasted over an hour, and the vehicle still hasn't been towed so I can't park in my spot. He referenced ongoing legal proceedings as a reason he was scared to tow from our building, which isn't legally advised during such proceedings. I told him that's a them problem and if they want to make money towing, which is their business model, that's what we pay them for.

Gary’s Westside towing truly saved the day for me. I was struggling to get my car towed from a tight spot in an underground garage, and several other tow companies came out and told me they can’t do it. I was starting to lose hope. Thankfully I found Gary’s Westside Towing ad they got a truck out fast and got the job done really quickly and professionally and I’m really thankful!

We were given the wrong parking spot number from our Airbnb host & this company put a sticker that wouldn’t come off on our car then wouldn’t answer their phone then closed for the weekend. 1 star for this extremely annoying sticker that has taken over a week to get off and has cost us money

The worst service ever I have seen , specially the lady at the reception was super rude. It looks like She is here and dose something for us 😏 someone needs to say her that you get your paycheck your not doing something for free .the company should hire their employees with the qualifications and experience of costumer services.

Very expensive and rude customer service. No after hours pickup, so they can charge you a high amount. You should pay asap, 3 days will cost you $700-900 easily. This seems like a legal way to steal cars. I paid for parking, went over 30 mins over time and my car was towed without warning. I understand it was my fault but it was super expensive and rude service for that. This shouldn’t be a thing. Another way to keep poor people poor.

You’ll get your car back, but only after you file a police report. They’ll incorrectly file your cars make and/or model, and will only call you after several hours to rectify their mistake. By this time, you’ll have gone through the process to file a police report for a stolen vehicle. After that, they’ll charge you full price for the experience which is going to be just under $600.

If there was a negative stars option they’d earn it. Don’t tell a paying customer “you’ll send someone”, and then send no one. If you don’t want to open the garage just say that. You don’t have to be rude on the phone, hang up and never send anyone. If parking wasn’t so horrible in the area it has to be the only reason they are open still. The area would be better off without businesses like this.

We didn’t realize the parking garages didn’t open until 8am but says you can pay a fee to have them come and get your car out. Called and a rude man answered the phone, we agreed to pay the fee and he said he would be there in an hour and hung up on us. An hour and a half later of standing in the rain they still didn’t show up, had to cancel our flights. At least tell people if you are not going to show up so we are not standing in the rain for almost 2 hours.

Amazing company with excellent customer service! My little nephew is thrilled with Gary’s Westside Towing—he’s obsessed. They even gave him a sign as a Christmas gift for free. Highly recommend!

Of course this business will get a lot of negative reviews, they are in towing business where people get pissed off! My experience is different. I highly recommend Gary's towing. They are expert professionals that knows what they are doing. We hire them for a lift project and it was done impeccably.

They scanned my credit card and kept a paper copy of both the front and back in a folder. Three weeks later, there are a dozen charges on the same credit card from Republic Parking in Seattle totaling hundreds of dollars. Seems like one hell of a coincidence since that's the only new place I used the credit card at. If the owner of the business replies to this review and (1) clarifies why they have to keep a paper copy of the card and (2) points me to their policy that shows how long they keep these documents for, how they secure them, etc. I'll adjust my review accordingly.

these guys are crooks and Liars. They won't take a card number over the phone, and they'll damage your vehicle in the process of breaking into it and then deny even getting into your car but you know damn well they did because I found my seatbelt wrapped around my steering wheel when I picked up my car. And as soon as I told the guy at in the office, someone in the back yelled out, "not our fault. You already left the lot" yeah I left the lot and went right across the street to change the flat I had when they towed my car. I noticed the damage and went right back across the street to their office and told them. Someone came out to look at the damage, and then started telling me it couldn't have been them because they use inflatable wedges to get into cars and those wouldn't cause the damage I have. But it wasn't like that before. The lesson here, check your car for any damage before you leave their lot.

I mean I really can't complain about Gary's. I mean I can just because of the fact that they impounded my car but they were just doing their job. Everything that has happened that I didn't like (the amount I paid, after hours fee) was due to the circumstances of my own doing. Gary....the gentleman that helped me and I am assuming the owner, was a little cranky at first but by the end of our exchange...he was able to finally go home and so was I with my car. I give 3 stars because I'm bitter with the fact they towed my car but when I picked up my care EVERYTHING WAS THERE even though I had my window rolled all the way down. GARY...you are actually a cool guy underneath it all.

First of all, their hours shown on Google maps are incorrect. They are not open 24h. Secondly, they charge in 12 hour increments, and what seems like an arbitrary start time of 2pm, which they don't mention to you when you call to figure out why their office isn't open. Then when you show up to get your vehicle the lady in the office is incredibly rude right off the bat and for no reason, and continues to be. They won't take a debit or credit card over the phone, and when you are finally able to get you vehicle, MAKE SURE YOU CHECK FOR ANY NEW 'DAMAGE TO YOUR VEHICLE BEFORE YOU LEAVE THEIR LOT!! They will deny responsibility for anything wrong with it if you leave without checking first.

The front desk gentleman dropped multiple F bombs more than one time while we were figuring out my bill and then goes on to photo copy my credit card. I asked him if they destroyed customers credit cards after the transactions go through and he said "no we put them in a file and lock them in a room." Not a safe, but some room in their towing office. To everyone reading this review, beware that they have all of your info and should be audited and investigated by the state. Time to get Jesse Jones on the call.

The worst place that your car could get towed at. Worst customer service and rude. My car was towed yesterday from U Village through Gary's Westside towing, and the way that the man spoke over the phone was improfessional at all. He spoke like he is doing a favor to you. The man lied to me and he was at the office and he said he would be there at 06:00pm and he was inside and opened the door before 06:00pm. The man took a copy of my insurance card, and l know that it is illegal, but that was the only way to take my car after him seeing my ID and asking for the registration and l kept it home and he insisted on having anything that proves it is my car and he claimed that he had to take the insurance card copy in case if the state will ask, so could report it.

If I could rate this place a negative anything I would. I recently had a vehicle breakdown and it was supposed to be covered under warranty while making arrangements to get the vehicle to the garage for warranty it was towed to Gary’s west side and while there everything that could be stripped from it was and I was refused access to the vehicle because I refused to pay the bill. So it was sold at auction. The vehicle was not moved appropriately and the vehicle was broken into and all my tools and safe and solar panels and numerous other items even the batteries was removed and I wasn’t able to recover up to this point. How is it that a place like this is allowed to operate and work for the state as well as private property owners. Truly unbelievable that he still has a license

If zero was possible I would sadly have to say they deserve it, if so not even half a star. Yet google has blessed them, with 1 star. I parked for 45-to an hour in an open parking lot at 9-10 and even asked the big store owners manager if the lot if the 25$ per hour payment was available to purchase, he said it was free to use as the place wasn’t busy and they had no customers. As I was leaving my errands, I realized my car was gone. I called Gary’s towing to ask when I could pick up my car, as it was blatantly posted and asked when I could possibly get my car back as transportation isn’t the biggest deal. Once I inquired to check the hours as their site clearly states 24 hour service, an elderly male receptionist sickeningly hacking, picked up the phone and who I could only assume was Gary, blurted out “closed until 8” and slammed the phone down I don’t understand why people have to rush into such rage over such simple questions. All I wanted to know is when I could get my car and how a 1 hour stay and their driving my car 11 minutes cost $480, when other reviews on here have costed 700 for 24 hours simply silly business Gary.

Had my car less than 24 hrs and charged $670 to get it out. A special fee cause they were closed, 6 employees weretherebutthey opened special for me. They said it would be $500, but they make their own fees,so why not add an additional 35% to the bill? If you ever need a vehicle stored for roughly $40 an hour I still wouldn't call this outfit.

I recently had an experience with Gary's Towing Company that I would like to share. Unfortunately, my car was towed from a parking lot where I had paid for parking. Despite the company having an after-hours service, the owner who answered my call was least helpful and extremely rude to me. He refused to come and unlock my car, claiming that he did not feel like doing so, causing significant inconvenience for me. As a result of his refusal to assist me, I had to pay for a later flight and experienced a great deal of emotional and mental stress. In addition, I was charged a late fee by the company even though I arrived promptly when they opened. The company claimed that I should have come to collect my car immediately after it was towed, but this was impossible due to the owner's refusal to assist me. Overall, my experience with Gary's Towing Company was extremely disappointing. The owner's refusal to help me, despite having an after-hours service, caused significant inconvenience and stress, and the company's decision to charge me a late fee for circumstances beyond my control was unjustified. I hope that the company will take steps to improve their service and prevent similar experiences from happening to others.

I wouldn't recommend this tow company even if my life was at stake. I was stranded at an apartment complex that had only one way in and one way out. That night my reverse went out on my vehicle and the parking area I was in was so narrow I couldn't turn around or back up if I tried. After calling several tow companies with no help I called Gary's. Gary's is also the company providing services for this complex. I fully understand everything comes at a cost but that night I had 50 bucks to my name and couldn't leave. It was raining hard all night and here I am stuck and nobody would come help me and all I needed was to be pulled,pushed towed whatever about 25 ft then I could have gone home but no. Gary's said to me straight up this isn't something worth getting out of bed for plus 50 won't cover the hook up fees and mileage. I said I just need to go 25 ft and I'll be ok. He's said call someone else. Wow as a veteran who served this country and caught for the very soil he walks in that's what I got, it's not worth getting out of bed for!! Wow never will I call or recommend this place.

These guys were unbelievably rude and shady. I called in to try and pay for my friends tow bill. The man that answered the phone was rude and abrupt. When I asked to pay over the phone because I couldn’t get off work in time to be there in person, he said the only way to do that was for him to email me a form to fill out, which he didn’t seem to want to do immediately, and then I needed to take pictures of my credit card front and back and my drivers license and email it to them with the completed form. That practice is incredibly sketchy in my mind and very risky. I had to cancel my last appointment and leave early from work to get there in person because I wouldn’t give him all that information through an email. When I went to pay the bill with my friend, I asked him if he thought they would actually be liable if someone stole that information from their email account and he brushed it off and acted of as if it wasn’t going to be their problem. He didn’t even attempt to discuss if the information would be secure or not. Judging by the mans appearance and their office, I’m going to assume their cyber security is about as safe as me posting my personal info around pioneer square. Overall, these guys were unreasonably rude and just didn’t seem to care about anything. If I am ever in a situation where I need my car towed I will go to great lengths to guarantee they never touch my car.
