TL DR: Eric is awesome. Long version: I was on my way to work one fateful Thursday and wgen I got off the freeway, a horrible rubbing scraping grinding sound ushered itself from the front passenger wheel... Area of my vehicle. Pulled over, had it towed to Greg's. Eric didn't promise me the world, but they found so many things wrong with my suspension system. It was going to be crazy expensive. Until I realized I paid for the extended warranty when I bought the vehicle. Eric worked with the warranty people to get paid, he worked with the parts guys on price, and he kept me in the loop about what was going on. (Even when my mom called the shop. 😅 She does know about cars.) They sent an Uber to pick me up when my car was finished so that I didn't have to bus or figure out some other way to get there. They rechecked my vehicle when the stupid traction control light turned on after I picked it up, and they fixed it while I waited! (It was an easy fix. Just a backing plate in a weird position.) If you're downtown, work downtown, or live nearby (on the hill or SLU, etc), I would recommend this place.

I was really pleased that they took my vehicle in on short notice and fixed the wiring issue on my starter. The vehicle is JDM and most mechanics do not even bother to take these type of vehicles in. I explained it was a straight forward job and they trusted me and made an exception without any hassle. The completed the work on time, price was totally fair and all the people at the shop were super friendly. 5 stars to the tech Aiden(sp?) who took on the job and the staff!

I requested an estimate for a timing belt replacement for an older model Honda Civic. I did not go with Gregg's for the service because another mechanic had more prior history with my vehicle and given how old it is, I thought it was the safer option to avoid any "surprise" repairs that may emerge. Gregg's quote was competitive and slightly below the one at the mechanic I chose. What was great about Gregg's: their service tech (Fernando) called me back promptly with an estimate and broke it down, explaining all that was involved and what wasn't in scope. This was important given how involved this repair would be. Fernando also said they use high quality OEM parts. I'm confident that Gregg's would have done solid work and will consider them for future work on the car.

The downtown Seattle location is great, bought new tires a little over a month ago and got a flat on my way to work Tuesday, they honored my warranty even on a side wall damage, couldn’t be more impressed with the shop. Danny who helped me through the entire thing was amazing. Great customer service definitely will be a returning customer.

Went in to get an oil change and immediately after the check engine light starts blinking. I open up my car to see they had removed one of the bolts for the spark plugs and it was shaking around. Obviously thought I wouldn’t notice and would come back in so they could get a larger payout. My car is pretty old, and they thought I would be easy to prey on. And they took my goddamn bolt. Don’t go

Eric and Floyd are some great people. I had a tire blow out on I5, put the spare on and it was flat. I was able to limp over to Greg's and they stopped what they were doing, aired up my spare and rotated the donut to the back. Excellent service. Would definitely use these guys for any automotive needs!! Thanks guys.

4 new tires, new car battery, wipers. 2 days and multiple visits. The tire install took 2 days. Then they forgot to install new car battery, so I had to go back. Now the screen still says battery is not connected. Will need to take it back again. These guys are the worst. Stay away! Got a call back and they accused me of theft.

I found Greg’s Auto when starting to drive home after work only to discover I had a flat tire. I went to Greg’s because they were the closest tire repair shop to my employer in downtown Seattle, but the experience was exceedingly positive. The representatives Danny & Fernando were welcoming and friendly. They took care to inspect my tire and review repair options with me. Ultimately I decided to repair all four tires, which were well beyond their extended lifetimes, and Greg’s Auto safely stored my car overnight so I could retrieve it the following day after services rendered. What began as a huge headache ended up being preventative maintenance that I had been procrastinating. Thank you Danny & Fernando for being so pleasant and accommodating!

I usually do my own maintenance but my car broke down away from home so I had it towed to Greg’s. Fernando was great at taking my info, answering my questions and getting my car in and out. The service report is super helpful as it shows all the fluids and maintenance items that need attention and includes photos for documentation. Book time and labor rates were reasonable, but the price was a little steep on the needed part for my vehicle. At least it’s nice to know there’s a 3 year warranty since it’s OE. The work was done well and my car is running great. From my experience Greg’s is an honest shop. FYI, they have promos and coupons on their site. They also offer a financing option with 6 months deferred interest. Next time I have an involved repair I’ll check that out.

I dropped by for a new battery. From front desk staff to service tech, the employees were friendly and knowledgeable. Service was fast. Overall, great experience.

Prices at bottom. I have a 2000 Tacoma and it's hard to find reliable mechanics. Danny and Luis were both great to work with. As a woman, I have a hard time trusting mechanics (I have been lied to / taken advantage of before by other shops) but Danny spent time going over all the details and showing me videos and photos of my truck and giving analogies I could understand. This visit they replaced my valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, ($1,700) I had a high idle, and they replaced my idle air control valve ($940) Brake fluid ($190) Coolant/Antifreeze ($240) Receipt with parts and labor priced out attached for transparency

Haven't gone here but just a heads up, I was quoted $1,200 to replace my back breaks and rotors for a subaru, at the dealership they quoted me $490 id recommended checking dealership service costs first bc that would've been a complete rip off.

I had a rocky start to my auto repair intake due to lack of information about the ETA of my repair, but the customer care department (George, Christina, Alex) rectified everything expeditiously with such care and and great customer service! Jonathan at the shop specifically was such a pro to work with. He got my car issue diagnosed and fully serviced very quickly! He deserves special recognition for his professionalism. I will certainly return and recommend to all my friends with Japanese cars. Thanks again!

TLDR - an operation treats customers poorly and lacks attention to detail with unsafe results. Go in to get my bearing replaced, tell them its coming from my right rear wheel. Pick it up a few days later, the sound persists. I ask them about it and they say they did my front wheels. I didn't ask them to do my front wheels, and they didn't even test the car after repair to verify that the bad bearing noise was gone. They then spend a few days repairing the rear bearings. They give me a future comp oil change for the trouble (don't worry, they still charged me for the front bearings replacement, which I still am not certain was necessary). Come back in months later for the oil change. Guy at the desk (Danny) says they don't compensate oil changes for repairs that take longer than expected, but he'll honor this one because it was another manager who granted it. Goes on to explain how a previous customer asked for a comped oil change to be honored, and he told her that she is welcome to find another shop because he has plenty of other customers. Picked up my car at the end of the day. As I am driving down the highway the hood begins rattling on me - they had not closed it completely and securely. An utter lack of attention to detail with potentially unsafe results.

Emergency flat tire at night. Even though they were busy the next day, they fixed my flat at a very reasonable price. Super nice and professional! Highly recommended.

This shop is scam I called because I needed a new serpentine belt they said 180. Once I picked it up my car they said it’ll be 350. They also recommended new sparkplugs and tune up which is a lie I did that a week before I brought it to them. Do not trust this shop full of lies and just in it to take advantage of others.

2005 Toyota 4Runner came in with a bad alternator. They ordered a new alternator, battery and serpentine belt for replacement. Supposed to be a straightforward service. Took hours with no phone calls to follow up with me on the status. I had to keep calling for updates. When I finally got ahold of them they said they had to order a new parts. I prepaid them $1200.00 and now they are diagnosing it again claiming there is a wiring issue. I have reason to believe that it was misdiagnosed in the first place. My car has been with them for 3 days now and still no word on what the issue is. I am concerned that it is now going to cost me even more money to fix whatever the issue should have been in the first place.

These guys are always so honest and fair about my automobile needs. I drive a very old Avalon, and they have been great helping me with everything that needs to be done. This is literally the only garage that I get EXCITED taking my car to, because of how serious they take the job!

Greg's is the best in town for all my car repair needs! (and it doesn't need to be a Japanese vehicle) Anything from a nail in the tire, oil changes, vehicle diagnostics, suspension, to engine repairs. They even do tires! Customer service is excellent!

I took my car in for diagnosis and the quote they gave me back was $11k. It was a laundry list of everything that needed to be fixed but mostly stuff that didn’t need to be fixed. They basically threw everything they could on there with very little explanation. To the untrained eye something like this would make someone think it would be better to sell the car and buy a new one, however I know my car is running strong and just needs a couple small-medium sized fixes. When I went to go pick up my car it was blocked in even though I told them I would be picking it up in the afternoon. I will not be taking my car back.

Super professional and did a great job. They fit me in on short notice and handled everything—including the exterior light hardware—quickly and cleanly. Big thanks to the front desk for being patient and helping me get scheduled!

Honda transmission fluid change on my 2016 Odyssey Touring was smooth and cost effective. Would recommend if you can drop your car off all day.

I recently had some car troubles and took it over to Greg’s. They were honest and so nice! My entire experience was amazing!! Hopefully nothing goes wrong with my car anytime soon, but if it does, I know exactly where I’m going!

Got my car there for a coolant leak and trunk not closing properly. After diagnostic was completed, I got a very clear upfront pricing that was reasonable and approved all repairs (including for a small oil leak I knew I had). No surprise at the end (except that they replaced the battery for free), job completed correctly and in a timely manner.

I brought my car here for some loud noises it was making, requesting to have it looked at. I was told that my car was driven around extensively but they did not hear the noise. After inspection, the man on the phone had a large amount of items suggested to be fixed that could “possibly help the noise.” It ended up costing me $3,500.00 for parts and labor that had absolutely no effect on the initial concern I brought my car in for. After I got my car back, it started making even more loud noises and began shaking when I was driving it on the highway. This lead me to take my car in to another body shop where they fixed the issue. Furthermore, they had my car for about 6 days after telling me it would be done in 2 days. All this to say, the people were nice, but I ultimately feel they didn’t do a thing for me or take care of my concerns related to my car while taking in a big payment and causing more problems later on.

Went to Greg’s for transmission fluid change, brake pad and rotor change. They provided an estimate that is almost half the price of dealership service center along with 15% off as a Costco customer. They did confirm what the dealership found, replaced the valve cap gasket and replaced the spark plugs at the same time. Appreciate their honest service and reasonable price.

Very kind and helpful. I literally mean helpful, they told me honest things found, very opened to pricing with no surprises. They have earned a customer who will now come regularly for oil changes, maintenance updates and other fixes needed. I'm happy I came to them for assistance with my car.

Greg's Japanese Auto was patient, communicative, and transparent throughout my experience with them. I was coming to get maintenance done on my Subaru that needed specialty tools and materials, which Greg's had ready to go. They were flexible with when I could bring my car in for service, and did a full service checkup for free to look for any potential issues. Then, they discussed each issue they found, including what each part did, why they felt it needed attention, and how urgent that repair would be. After getting this list, I was able to compare prices at other service places and figure out what could be provided by a general service shop and which would need specialty gear. The men at Greg's didn't push me at all to get all work done with them, and even answered questions to make my price compares easier. At the end of the day, I felt respected and confident that good work was done on my car!

After five beautiful years of life, my Subaru can battery died. But it died right in front of Greg’s! That’s some lucky bad luck. Thank you so much to the cops that jumped my car and pulled it into Greg’s and thank you so much to Martin who helped me get a new battery in under 10 minutes at an incredibly fair price. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I've been taking my car to this guy's for many years and actually took my first car here as a teenager. I am old now. Lol They have always treated me well and done great work. We did have a hiccup this time and ran into some major issues that i can't blame on them solely. I did get some run around from the South center location, but after reaching out to Martin Wise (manager at the Stewart st location) him and corporate got it taken care of and thanks to Luis for doing the skilled work he did. I am very happy to report that my daughter is back up and running, enjoying her first car! Thanks to Greg's Japanese auto, for making this right and working with us. A special thanks to the store manager at the Seattle location, Martin Wise and his crew, Luis, and the rest of his crew for taking on this huge job . 👏 You guys provide excellent customer service. I will definitely continue to bring my cars to your shop, especially the one on Stewart St.
