What clients say about J & J Collision in Seattle Hill (WA)

J and J helped me with some body work and painting on my passenger side door. They were them most affordable estimate and did a great job. They were communicative and helpful. I would use them again.

First time customer and just picked up our vehicle. We got estimates for body work from 3 places in town. J&J gave the best price. They were top notch! We needed a quick turn, so they gave us a date that was far enough out to get in all needed parts and worked with our schedule. They got her done early and washed her... As in, cedar sap was baked on the hood from the summer sun - not a panel being worked on - and it was spotless upon pick up. Mrs J&J was very sweet and personable. The SUV looks great! We will be calling on them with future needs and recommending them. What a great local business! - Prahst Family

I've used them several times (SCION xA that had bad luck while parked in lots) and have always been pleased with the results. I routinely recommend them to friends.

I came here for a paint job after getting some nasty scrapes and dents from a parking garage pillar. They provided a fair estimate, were clear in the scheduling process, and had a quick turnaround time.

As an attempting to return customer I believe they do fine work, but the inability to have a respectful office staff will be my reason for not coming back. Really like you guys but your office lady must be some type of unhappy, never a pleasant experience with her.

Would recommend! This shop had excellent communication. They were very clear how long it would take the part to come in, the length of time they would need the car and upfront pricing. The car look perfect and their pricing was fair.

Excellent experience. Reasonable quote that did not change. The work was done ahead of the expected time and the small bottle of touch up paint was very appreciated.

Came here and was shooed away without even looking at my car. Part of the body is pressing up against the suspension of my car and multiple mechanics have told me I need body work. They told me it was a mechanical issue, not a body issue, without even looking at it. Couldn't tell if it was misogyny or laziness. Guess I'll go somewhere else.

I walked past this seemingly nice collision facility and I was asking about getting a quote on repairs for my car. A lady working in the office rudely asked what I wanted and did not treat me as a potential paying customer. Her standoffish attitude made up my decision to not choose J&J.

If you ever need a place to vehicle repairs, I highly recommend J&J Collision. They have a very friendly and efficient staff. They go above and beyond providing more than just services. They were able to make minor repairs to my car making my car look better. They are quick in response and provide more information when asked. I highly recommend coming here as their customer service is outstanding. I ended up deciding to go here after speaking to several other local shops because of their friendliness and prompt actions. If needs arise again, I will definitely choose to return here and continue doing business.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO J&J Collision. Bottom line: I don't know a lot about cars and heavy repairs, so I need to know I can trust my repair shop. You cannot trust J&J collision to perform a safe, stable repair, nor can you trust them to try to make their mistakes right. Save yourself time, money, and headache by avoiding this shop. Backstory: I was in an accident March of 2022 and I had to get my car towed to a local shop. I thought the repairs were performed but fast forward a year later and my car is loosing traction and I can feel it skidding going straight on wet roads. When I took my car into the dealership, they found that multiple parts were still broken, cross threaded, and the tires were worn down to threads. They said that the most likely way the tires (new in 2021) could have gotten to that point was if J&J collision did not perform an alignment after the initial repairs. My insurance would only pay for me to return to the original shop that repairs were done which I did not feel comfortable doing since J&J performed an unsafe repair the first time. When I called to ask if J&J would help cover the cost, Mimi said that alignment and other services are done by subcontractors so 1) services wouldn't be shown on my original invoice 2) there is nothing they can do because "we only work with the insurance company". So they take no responsibility for repairs provided.

Fantastic experience. Everyone was wonderful. I almost want to crash my car again just to bring it back here

Fixed a cracked plastic part recently. Pros: very efficient in both quoting and repairing processes; no appointment needed. Cons: manufacturer parts were not cheap.

I don't really know. Haven't seen the bill yet. But really friendly service. The front desk person, Mimi, is really nice & accommodating.

J&J Collision is one of the best body shops in north Seattle. They fixed some front end damage on our 2018 Nissan Rogue due to a recent collision and you'd never know we got in an accident. If you ever need automotive body work done and you're in the north Seattle/Ballard area stop by and see Chuck and Mimi, they're sure to take good care of you and your car.

They gave a quick estimate. It was also a very reasonable timeline to get a service appointment and length of time to complete the work.

I had some rust spots on my rear quarter panels and a few spots around my front windshield. When looking over my car for quotes, Chuck said all the panels needed to be fully painted. This made the repair more expensive but figured it was better to get it done right. They said it would take 5 days but then called stating they needed more time. While this was inconvenient, I was fine with it, wanting them to take their time and do a quality job. Two full weeks later, I get it back and can not believe how terrible a job they did. The first thing I noticed was the head liner was torn and wrinkled. I noticed this while still at the shop and Chuck agreed it was bad and said he would order a new one. However, once I got home I noticed a ton of other issues. •Both the windows on my rear quarter panels had ripped window tint •A plastic trim cover part was missing •Huge tear in the trunk seal •The passenger side door trim had a big gap •The painted panels were full of scratches, paint bubbles and orange peel •The rust spot on the rear quarter panel was still visible underneath the paint •The trim on the rear wheel arch was falling off • They needed to pull the window when painting the roof and when they replaced it they did not seat it correctly as it now makes a horrible wind noise at highway speeds I don't even understand how this many mistakes could be made. I talked to Chuck about all these issues and he never once apologized or seemed shocked. He instead stated they should have never taken on the project as they normally don't do rust repair. However, since almost all the problems I pointed out had nothing to do with that, it seemed like a pretty terrible excuse. I asked for them to pay for another shop to redo the work considering they didn't fix what they were supposed to and made things worse with the additional damage to my car. Chuck refused. I then asked for a full refund for the work, willing to take a loss on the stuff that they wrecked and again, Chuck refused. He offered me a few hundred dollars as a refund which to me was insulting it wasn't even enough to fix the damage they had caused. Chuck did agree to redo the repair work. I did not want to do this considering the complete lack of quality but felt I had no other option. So I dropped my car off for another week for them to try again. Getting it back, I am seeing new problems. Both rear windows had to be replaced since all the rubber trim and tint was wrecked. But even after getting all new windows there are still tears, though smaller, in the new window trims. There are also tons of small pry marks in the paint around the windows. When I mentioned the blemishes to Chuck, he just shrugged it off. I also noticed there was an interior trim piece that didn't seem to be installed correctly as it wasn't lining up right. Chuck also disregarded my concerns on this and said it was fine. After driving away, the trim piece created a terrible rattle, I had to reinstall the trim properly to fix it. The most ridiculous issue though was the bolt that holds the top of the seat belt into the frame of the car fell out. Considering they knew how dissatisfied I was initially, I assumed they would have taken extra care to make sure there wouldn't be any issues this second time around. If you care at all about the work being done properly on your car, do not take your car here. I am not even going to bother taking it back to fix the new issues as I don't want them touching my car anymore. I am beyond nervous with the work that I can't see. They forgot to tighten the bolt down on my seat belt which is a huge safety concern, what else did they forget to do? The fact that the visible work even after being redone still has problems gives me serious concerns. At this point, the work done is still not great and leads me to believe the underlying repairs are equally bad, if not worse and I have no confidence in the work at all.

Dropped by to have minor work done. They ended up doing it faster and at a lower rate than their estimate--overall a great experience!

Went to get my car back original damage was repaired but there was new dent on the car. I was lucky because I took pictures when I dropped of my car.

Had a wonderful first experience, though it was for minor body work. Chuck was great to work with and upfront with pricing, as was his desk staff. I would definitely come back for work in the future.

Very professional, prompt and great work. Seamless transaction with our insurer. The front desk staff was really great to work with. Thanks!

I chose to come here because it says on their website "Drive Up Estimates Without Appointment; Monday – Friday 8:00 – 11:00 & Noon – 5:30". I drove straight from work and arrived at 5:00. I went in and asked for an estimate and was told by the lady at the front desk that they don't do estimates after 4. I said, okay, I'll come back, but maybe you should put that on your website. She said "we can't put everything on our website"... To which I responded "but it literally says drive up appointments till 5:30 on your website". And then she told me I was being "too literal". ....But it literally says that on their website! To be honest, before that exchange I was planning to come back, as they have many good reviews. But they wasted my time and on top of it, were incredibly rude. NOT impressed. Will be finding somewhere else. Pro tip: next time, just say "sorry for the mis-understanding".

They are my go to repair shop in the city. J&J knows how much I rely on my car, and gets the job done right (and well) the first time. I leave with every question answered and no confusion on cost or prices.
Dec 16, 2016 -
The repair was exactly what I asked for, done quickly and for less than the estimate.
Nov 08, 2016 -
Highly recommended. I was sent here by my independent mechanic--it's where he sends all of his work. The estimate was $400 less than another shop I checked. The car was ready on time and looked as good as new. In addition to fixing the estimated damage, they popped another ding out for me and left me some touch-up paint. Not to mention they cleaned and vacuumed the interior. Great to see folks take pride in their work!

J&J fixed my car, looks like nothing ever happened! Thanks for taking care of it and getting it done in a very short amount of time. Definitely recommend J&J!
