What clients say about Pacific Rim Automotive, Inc. in Seattle Hill (WA)

I just had my car serviced at Pacific Rim Automotive and it was as always a great experience. The team there communicate very clearly, are direct and upfront about costs and I always feel that they are looking out for my best interests, not just trying to drive up the costs. I was so delighted and surprised when I went to pick up my car that it had been washed and vacuumed - talk about going over and above on customer service. I highly recommend Pacific Rim - I'll definitely be back for the next service.

Did wheel bearings, brakes, CVT fluid, diff fluid, and tie rods with them after getting quotes from 3 other shops in the area and they came in at 20% less than Carter Subaru. Super responsive over phone and email, and fast scheduling and turnaround. Got a quote in 24h, scheduled service for 3 days later, dropped off my car in the morning and picked up EOD.

The team at Pacific Rim have cared for my GX470 for over ten years and 150k miles. I've always felt informed and educated by the team and they taken great care of my vehicle. I trust this team.

I had 2 major services completed recently. Both Jay and Jeremy were extremely helpful and I was impressed with the communication and ease/availability of setting up appointments. They also represent a great value for the service they provide. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!

They know what they're doing, and they treat you right. Jeremy is the best! Even helped me when negotiating for a used car. I'd be in trouble if not for them!
Feb 27, 2026 -
Excellent service as always! They were able to diagnose my car's issues right away and they were able to keep the cost affordable. Work was done in one day. Very satisfied!

Needed a ball joint and bushings replaced, as well as an oil change on my Subaru. They did it in less than six hours. People who work there are kind. I didn’t do price comparisons but I assume it’s fair for a reputable shop in Seattle. The car was returned vacuumed. I will come here again.

Friendly, efficient, and reasonably priced. Just an all-round awesome service from start to finish. I won’t take my car anywhere else anymore!

What a great group of honest, professional mechanics! I knew my pickup was going to down for a while. These folks had a car ready for me to use while they quickly and professionally repaired my truck. Great communication throughout the process! I'm already recommending them and I've found a great garage!

Got a $700 bill with absolutely nothing itemized. Guy at the counter claimed they test drove my car for "hundreds" of miles, but couldn't get error codes to pop back up after installing a new 12 volt battery. Popped up for me after 1/2 a block. Also told me when I asked about getting a new fob that it would cost $400-500. I don't understand all these great reviews. I had a really different experience.

The staff are helpful, courteous, responsive, and respectful. I’ve long since sworn off going to dealerships for service after so many negative experience. I love Pacific Rim.

Pacific Rim has always provided a thorough service to keep my vehicles running smoothly. They are very honest, and back their work up in a way that is not always easy to find. I have also found them to have timely, professional, and friendly communication with customers. Really appreciate this shop and all the hard work they do!

They were pretty quick and did a solid job as far as I can tell but I went in for a 60k mile service and ended up paying $2300 to replace all my break pads and calipers which even one of the other employees there thought was expensive. I was also about to go to someone else because they were too far from my house and they called me offering a loaner car, and then proceeded to charge me for that loaner car. They ended up waiving that after I asked but still odd. I think their ratings are so high because they solicit reviews, which is why I’m writing this now.

Very friendly auto shop. Service was good, pretty quick, and they have lots of nice extras - wash your car, top off all the tires, etc etc. The con is that they don’t seem super concerned with getting the most out of my money. I came in and they told me they’d need ~$1200 for my front and rear brake pads/rotors, because the pads were quite thin and “need a change now, and if not now definitely by the next oil change”. I decided to do it myself and when I took a look, I saw I had a bunch of material left on the front pads (3-4mm) and the front rotors were in great shape. I did the swap anyway because I had taken everything off, but 7,000 miles and two oil changes later the back brakes are doing just fine and still haven’t hit the squealers. I don’t think they were trying to scam me or anything, I think they’re probably just used to servicing folks who aren’t concerned with frugality and it left a bad taste in my mouth. If you’re an amazon employee and you just want your car to work right, I’m sure this is still a great place to go.

I have been incredibly pleased with the service at Pacific Rim. They go above and beyond to ensure reliability in the cars I have taken to them. I really appreciate the knowledge they share and trust they can help me in maintaining my car for the long run.

I recommend! Pacific Rim accurately aligned my vehicle to Toyota specifications and they took the time to answer my detailed questions. The alignment was on the pricier end, but they delivered a premium quality of work and customer service.

Excellent service, honest, and amazing value- is how we describe our experience with Pacific Rim. Jeremy provided us with excellent communication throughout the entire process. Since we had booked an appt, not only were they waiting for our car, but also had ordered the part and were ready to rock and roll!! Additional problems were brought to our attention and additional work was completed- with our approval. Have I convinced you yet? No? Did I mention that they went above and beyond? Sure, they vacuumed the interior and gave it a wash, but also cleaned the engine, and re-attached the engine splash guard was flopping around! We have we found the best local mechanic- hands down! Thank you Jeremy for making my Honda purr like a young kitten again.

I had a great experience at Pacific Rim Automotive when they worked on my car recently. The communication was great and booking an appointment was easy. I was having a specific repair done and they did a full review of the car and came back with a recommendation to also replace the break pads - I appreciated this attention to detail. As a woman I often feel patronized or talked down to by mechanics but this was not the case at Pacific Rim. They were clear and detailed in their communication and gave pricing information upfront. I will certainly be using them again for regular services and maintenance.

Had a great experience here! Jeremy and his team diagnosed and fixed many of my car's issues (has 200k miles on it). He addressed a windshield leak, bad brakes, heat shield, and an EVAP leak. He does not do that thing that so many auto-shop chains do: apply pressure to do unnecessary things and leave you intentionally misinformed. He was highly professional, transparent about cost, and informative about exactly what steps will be taken to resolve issues. Fair to average pricing for the work, absolutely worth it to know your vehicle is in great hands. Thank you guys!!!!

I’ve been using Pacific Rim for years. They are very professional and timely. They are transparent and always let me know what’s going on during the process. Wouldn’t take my cars anywhere else.

Excellent service, very reliable and knowledgeable technicians. Pacific Rim has been my go to for years, starting with my ancient Subaru and now with my Acura MDX.

As always, service was excellent. I had a 60K service on my Subaru and they did a great job - for less $$ than the Sub dealer. also replaced my brakes. I've been using them for 30 years and several cars - ALWAYS SATISFIED>

Easy coordination for appointments, super transparent communication about prices and work needed, and reasonable prices! I really appreciated how openly they explained the work, asked about any incremental suggestions before working on it, and turned it all around in one day. Easy parking lot in Fremont to drop off and pick up, and everyone was so nice. Also bonus my car came back cleaner than when I handed it over.

Really amazing service from Jeremy and co. My dealership quoted me 5k for services on my 2014 Acura RDX even though the car had not been driven in 3 years and was a 10+ yr car with only 70k miles. I wasn’t sure if the car actually needed the services or if the dealership was telling me that bc it was a 10+ yr old car/upselling me. Jeremy went through all the info the dealership provided and was able to let me know what was actually needed. He recommended changing timing belt, battery, oil change, transmission fluid, and air filters. Came to half the cost of the dealership estimate with even better service. Provided a loaner car as well.

If you want to find a safe home away from the dealer service centers, then go to Pacific Rim Automotive. They are transparent, fair priced and do excellent work, while providing excellent communication along the way. My only regret is not finding them sooner.

Took my car in for a battery issue and an oil change — the staff was extremely helpful and way better than talking my car to the dealership. The cost ended up lower than what they originally quoted me and I got my car back same day. I know I can’t expect those things to be the norm on every visit, but it really does seem like everyone at Pacific Rim actually cares about your car. Really great service, will definitely take my Subaru back to them again.

For over two decades our family has used Pacific Rim's services to maintain our vehicles. The friendly Pacific Rim professional staff has always provided sound observations and recommendations to safely maintain and operate our autos in top condition. The longer useful life spans of our vehicles can be directly attributed to the quality of care and maintenance Pacific Rim consistently provides. I greatly appreciate the timely advice the staff provides, both in-person and over the phone, to address my concerns, from the simplest things like what type of new tires to buy to more complex issues of how best to keep our oldest cars running safely. Over this time, the Pacific Rim staff have become like friends and neighbors. I highly recommend this local auto maintenance service. Pacific Rim provides great service to our greater Seattle community. Lawrence Odle - July 2025

I truly love Pacific Rim. I’ve gone here for years and the team has seen me through multiple cars. I know I can trust what they say, and that they will be up front about necessary and ‘nice to have’, giving me time to plan and prepare for repairs which aren’t immediately needed (and are pricey). As a woman, I have felt taken advantage of by assumptions made about my knowledge of car mechanics, but I’ve never ever felt that way at Pacific Rim. I had a car under warranty so I was going to the dealer for upkeep etc, but once the warranty ran out I was quickly reminded why I won’t go anywhere else. Thank you to the team at Pacific Rim!

Pacific Rim has been my car mechanic of choice for more than 5 years. They send reminders when I’m due for oil changes and offer welcome advice on care of my 15 yr old car. I trust their inspections and find their quotes to be reasonable. This was such a good referral for me.

I’ve had a couple of vehicles worked on at Pacific Rim Auto over the years. Over 2-3 major jobs done and I have been extremely disappointed and traumatized by the work and damage these guys did. I experienced sloppy work, damaged parts, and poor communication. Let me tell you what happened. First, I took my Subaru here a while back to get the clutch replaced. I got the vehicle back, and everything seemed to be working fine. Then after 2-3 days I noticed a loud whine sound coming from the transmission. I messaged PRA and they told me to bring it in to have a look. Turns out they forgot to put transmission fluid in when they installed everything. So I drove around for about 3+ days W/ OUT OIL in my transmission. This is after spending almost $1,700. I was offered a free oil change for the trouble. I should have learned my lesson at this point, but I had not. A year or so later, I brought in my Toyota Tacoma to get a new header put on as I had two burnt valves. That was a very expensive job, around $6,500 - $7,000. When got it back I inspected under the hood and noticed the pulley on my power steering pump was waving like crazy while spinning. I knew this was not from me as I had taken a video of the engine running weeks before. I also saw a fresh gash inside the pulley, likely from a tool or part being dropped in while the engine was running. I also noticed my K&N air filter was smashed inside of the airbox. That’s a $300 OEM pulley damaged (and likely pump itself) and a $65 air filter. After contacting PRA, I was told they would replace the pulley, but instead, the part they ordered “didn’t fit,” so they just bent the old pulley back. I should have learned my lesson at this point. But because of their “warrantied work” I thought any issues would be fixed. Last year, I had the clutch in my Tacoma replaced at PRA. Well, after a few months, I noticed a loud whine noise every time I let the clutch out on a hill. So, I called PRA to let them know. I brought it in thinking they would fix it under warranty. After an “inspection” they said that whining noise was a bad transmission and it needed to be replaced. So what did I do? (my big mistake) I had them order me a new transmission. FFW a few weeks, and I got a call from PRA telling me the new transmission they had put in “didn’t work right” so they had to order another one. After another 2-3 weeks of waiting, I finally got a call to pick my truck up. This is after me calling multiple times to get updates as I had not heard back. When finished, I asked for a test drive w/ someone there. The FIRST thing the the guy tells me before we get in to drive is “It still makes the same sound...” Ok so let’s get this straight. The WHOLE REASON I put in a new transmission was because of this whining sound. And he’s telling me that sound is still happing. At this point I demanded a test drive w/ a shop tech, the manager admitted he heard the sound but said it was “something about the way I(the owner) drive” and that “I should just wait until it gets worse” before they can do anything about it. Add gaslighting to the list. When I picked up my keys I was exhausted. I told the guy at the front counter how upset I was about the sound still being present he just told me “well, we already had to pull the transmission twice” forgetting that that was because of their error. SUMMARY: I believe I didn’t need to replace the transmission. Would I have replaced it knowing it wouldn’t fix the sound? Absolutely not. They tried to convince me the whining sound was MY DOING when that sound was one of the MAIN REASONS they based replacing the transmission on, the whole reason I was there in the first place. I still have that sound when I drive. This is after transmission + clutch replacement by Pacific Rim Auto. I spent over $11,000 dollars and I wish I had never let these guys touch either vehicle of mine. I am traumatized by my experience here. My advice is if you have any major repairs needed on your vehicle, TAKE IT TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. This place just isn't worth the headache.
