Chris ruined my engine and I had to take it to the dealership to fix the damage he caused misdiagnosing the problem. When I showed him the paperwork from the dealership detailing what actually had needed to be fixed, he screamed obscenities at me and told me to get out of his shop.
Avoid like the plague.
Called twice a few days apart and spoke with Chris. First time he told me to call back a different day. Second time he said he would call back. Never called back… hope existing business is good enough to not care about new customers.
Edit after owner response: Yikes… Acting like you know me based on google reviews and an online search of the wrong person. Also lying about other German auto places. I’m new to the city and you were the first place I called. Interesting making a lot of assumptions about me based on a few sentence review and finding a LinkedIn profile of a completely different person. Really speaks to your character and good showing for people looking at your business online.
Chris worked on my 83 Merc 300td and it drives better than it has in years!! He got it fixed up really fast, and I couldn’t be happier. Thanks so much ?
Not only has this guy helped clean up the neighborhood but his car shop is amazing AND he has a bunch of art studios upstairs. The place is rad as hell
Christopher helped me out in a pinch. A worn serpentine belt had broken and left me stranded. He came after hours and met me and the tow-truck driver at his shop so that I could put my car inside and not worry about it getting broken into overnight. Besides the belt, it turns out the woodruf key had been destroyed, too. He is no B.S. and I wish more mechanics were like him- honest, knowledgeable, and dedicated.
You can be a solution for problems if you really love what you do.
My experience at christopher Goodwin is totally different from other customers, because Christophet did not only solved my car problem, but also I learned how to handle customer in good manner. His professional experience is so bold with his solid passion!
I called Chris this morning at about 11:00 with an issue I was having with my car. He provided me with some help over the phone with towing resources and even stated he wouldn’t charge me for diagnostics if he was able to determine what the cause of the issue was in a relatively quick period of time. When he found out I was local, he stated he would he would make time for me to come in for him to take a quick look at it if I could get it there. The whole conversation was about four minutes.
Once I determined I was able to get the car to his location, I called him back at 11:55 and was advised he wasn’t on site and would need until around 3 o clock to be back on site for me to bring the vehicle by. Fast forward to 3:40 (now). I arrived at the facility and tried the door but it was locked. I went back to my vehicle and called twice, getting a response on the second try and advised Chris, “Hi, this is Diondre, we spoke about the issue I was having with my 5-Series earlier. I’m at the shop now and was wondering if you were in the area.”
His condescending response was, “well no I’m not otherwise I would be there wouldn’t I.” I didn’t say anything because I was a bit caught off guard. He continued to say he would be at the shop in a few minutes and questioned ‘Hello’ due to my silence. I then responded and asked why he had an attitude over the phone. That was too much for Chris, as he then said “wow, ok, you and I don’t have a relationship and I think you should find someone else to fix your car.” - No problem. I’m sure Chris knows how to fix a car, but he certainly lacks the basic interpersonal customer service skills it takes to have a simple conversation. Steer clear. Two stars due to the morning “help.”
UPDATE: I have edited the review to one star considering Chris’s complete fabrication in his reply to my review of getting called “over and over” by me as well as slight mischaracterizations of our phone conversation. This really speaks to his character and I now highly recommend against any business with him. (See attached photos)
Had an awesome experience getting my car fixed by him. I have an older vw sirocco and he proved he knows his stuff. On top of everything he also showed me show preventative maintenance to help keep my car in top shape without having to keep going in.
Chris fixed up my Corrado a few years ago, still running strong! No BS, as other reviews have said. Chris really went above and beyond to stick to my budget and the work is top notch! Go here!
Chris does great work and is happy to help you out of most any problem you can have on a car. He is a no BS sort of guy that will get your car running as good as the day it was made. Very happy with my whole experiences. Have been going to him for several years now for work and advise.

I lucked upon Christopher Goodwin Motorsport a few years ago after I bought an older Mercedes. 35k miles later it runs so well it makes me just smile. Christopher is always straight with me on what needs to be done, honest about maintenance ahead and confidence inspiring in his communications with me. In short, I wouldn't trust my car (yeah, I love my car) with anyone else and would call Christopher (actually, I have) before I buy another car to get his feedback. Go here once, and you'll see.
Chris is an ace mechanic, period. He repaired my 911 when no one else could and even charged me less than "that other" Porsche shop quoted me to diagnose the problem! Imagine that he solved the problem right the first time!
He did a complete rebuild of my uncle's Porsche and that's how I was referred to CGMS. This shop is honest and very skilled. 5 stars.

Chris is an awesome mechanic! He goes above and beyond your average repair mechanic. His customer service is great. I woukd recommend him to anyone looking for an expert on German cars, but he does a fabulous job on all vehicle types
Not just a mechanic but an artist. Will take on that impossible project that no shop has the time for or just save you thousands on a brake job. Just remember it's European only.
