Been going to LCAW for many years for a variety of problems with our cars. The service is great. In the last year we had a starter motor replaced and a air condenser replaced. Their charge on the AC was lower than a competitor because they were able to reuse an existing part not replace it. Would definitely recommend.
Great service and very nice people to work with. My car broke down and the got it repaired the day I brought it in. Highly recommend them as a Seattle native.
I don’t take my car to the shop nearly as much as I should but when I do I come here. Very honest people, they have a payment plan option if you need assistance and are always helpful and wonderful at communicating. Guaranteed to get quick and good service that will last.
Fixed numerous problems that my previous shop shrugged their shoulders at. Explained everything in detail. Priced fairly. This is my new shop now. Very nice and kind folks working here. Highly recommend.

It’s really difficult to find mechanics you can trust. Even if it’s not the case- I felt that Karl (I think?) went out of his way to genuinely make me feel like he really cared about my safety and the context around my car the repairs it needs, which is all that matters to me. I don’t recall the woman’s name at the front desk but her communication with me was phenomenal! Grateful for Lake City Autoworks’ help
I called the local Snap-on tool dealer to get a referral and he said he has Lake City work on his personal vehicles and that they do excellent work. Just didn’t first oil change and they were fast, friendly and honest. Look forward to building a long term relationship with the team.
Very kind and knowledgeable. Understood my goals and were mostly forthcoming about calling with updates and to check permission since I have a tight budget with the bad timing of car problems. Only reason I’m not 5 stars is I don’t think my headlight got mentioned to me, and I was tired and signed without realizing I was charged for a bulb replacement. I know I would’ve asked not to if it was brought up because I usually change my lights myself. But the rest of my work seemed more fairly priced and helpful.
Busy place. I witnessed lots of goodwill between staff, customers and vendors; which is always a good sign.
Went in for an oil change and left with a longterm plan for keeping my rig healthy.
Coincidentally that is what I was looking for when I scheduled with LCA.
Karl and the team at LCW Autoworks have taken care of my European cars for the past 12 years. They always steer me right (no pun intended) when it comes to doing maintenance on my vehicles-I trust their suggestions and have never been disappointed. Honest and fairly priced. Prefer going to LCW Autoworks over a dealership as I’ve never been talked into unnecessary repairs.
I have been using Lake City Auto Works for several years, I happened on them by accident, and was treated so well I can’t imagine going anywhere else. Everyone there cares about your car, I have been in several predicaments where they have come to my rescue. Even when they are busy, they make time for your car. They are very honest, (very rare for a mechanic shop). When you go in there, they treat you like family, I even recommended them to my mom.
The personal service and attention were the best. I will definitely be back when I need any kind of service with my car and have already recommended them to 2 people.
New to Seattle and nervous about going to a new mechanic after being with the same one for many years, but Karl and his team at Lake City Autoworks were awesome! I've only had good experiences at Lake City Autoworks. They are honest and do not pressure you to get additional work. On one of our previous cars they actually called to suggest not doing the work we asked for because of other issues found. This visit they confirmed only one set of brakes needed to be replaced and called out potential future issues without making me feel like I needed to get it done ASAP. I'll be continuing to go here in the future.
Karl was great! He fixed the car on a VERY timely basis, was honest, found a used part that saved me $$$, and had excellent communication throughout the entire process!
We were able to schedule our trip inspection online and had it confirmed right away! Everyone was friendly and thorough and the service was fantastic. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning!
Best experience I have ever had in an auto shop. Lake City is knowledgeable and exceptionally helpful and kind. They took what was a pretty crumby situation and helped it feel a lot better and took incredible care of my car. I know only come here for oil changes as well as anything major. Could not recommend more!
I’ve been going here for 3.5 years for 2 cars and I can’t say better things. Going to a mechanic isn’t always easy, especially when you aren’t a car expert (me). But I can honestly say this team is trustworthy with pricing and turnaround times along with great service. Won’t be going anywhere else.
I have found Lake City Autoworks to be generally competitive on price with excellent work. The team there always has taken great care of me and does their best (when time and space at the shop allow) to address urgent needs as they come up. Plus they have the handsomest dog-gone brand ambassador ever! Highly recommend!

I was in a huge pinch, here’s my story and celebration. I kept noticing my battery was dying. I’m lucky I have a jumpstart charger at home. Well, then it left me completely in a work day panic. I thought it was the battery and I went back to where I got it installed and diagnostic. Pep Boys was way off (I even asked them if they checked the alternator) they said it was fine and to keep a trickle charge on my car. Well, I took a second look at it later that day and found out indeed it was my alternator. I then spent a weekend, calling places leaving messages etc. I ended up speaking to the owner and expressed my problems and noted that my brakes are also due. My car was in the best of hands, right on the bus line to my job and the repairs were done right. I praise this place, because the amount of care and detail going into my cars needs exactly what my dad did for his customers when he was alive and owned his own body shop. To Karl and his staff Thank You for taking care of me in April(I’m sorry for a tardy review).
I had an incredibly positive experience with Lake City Autoworks. Everyone I spoke with was kind, professional, and genuinely understanding. They took the time to explain the issue with my vehicle clearly and treated me with real respect and compassion when I had to change my plans unexpectedly.
What stood out most was their integrity, they didn’t pressure me, they were honest and transparent, and they made a stressful situation feel a lot more manageable. It’s rare to find an auto shop that combines excellent technical expertise with this level of humanity.

One of the most difficult experiences is to find a mechanic, especially an auto mechanic that you can trust both in quality of service and cost. Lake City auto Works has been my mechanic for over 30 years and without hesitation I can recommend them for any auto service requirements you may have They always work to get there service done within budget and on time. For this last service they provided me. I was out of town and had to rely on them to analyze the issues and provide the required services to put the car back in service. They provided me An estimate of service and a schedule which they maintained I can recommend them for any auto work you may require.
Highest respect. Lake City Autoworks is the real deal. A neighborhood Auto repair shop with mad skilz, very reasonable rates, and a heart of good.
After getting a dead battery replaced we learned that my son's car needed a new alternator, as well as fresh spark plugs, and the moonroof wasn't closing… a catastrophe when you live in the Pacific Northwest where the rain is as constant.
The problem was the only reliable garage we knew was 12 miles away. The good neighbors at Les Schwab who took care of the battery replacement recommended Lake City Autoworks because they we're concerned the car would die in the middle of the road before getting to the repair shop that we had received the recommendation for.
When I asked for a closer recommendation it was Lake City Autoworks they had heard good things about...and it was only a mile away.
Karl took our call. We asked if he could match the quote that we had received because my son was on an extremely limited budget after having to replace a battery already and getting an oil change and some other work done the day prior, budget was a very real family concern.
He wasted no time and gave us a call a few moments later after he had checked the specifics we had shared; the news was good so we drove the car down the street.
He and his team were friendly and reassuring when we dropped off the car. Frankly, anytime you have a serious car repair the warm welcome and reassurance matters. They would have it done before end of day.
It would've been comfortable to stay in the waiting area because they had leather seats and a well stacked snack area, don't let the size fool you there was some good treats there. There was also Charlie, their wonderfully friendly mascot.
The car was ready in no time, none of the service engine lights were on, and even the moonroof had managed to be closed (and they confirmed our suspicions that it would not work without us throwing serious money at it). It's empowering to have a shop confirm what doesn't work and why, in the process of getting repairs on what was promised to be done. It gives you peace of mind that you know what's happening with your vehicle.
We had the best experience with this neighborhood shop and will be back if another issue comes up.
