Best place to discover a variety of discount grocery items: both gourmet and simple staples. Each GO tends to reflect the neighborhood it serves.

It's a good store. No frills, really good prices. Wide aisles, not too busy.

I love shopping here to see what is new - the selection is always changing and you can find some really great deals or products you've never even heard of before. Staff are always friendly and pleasant. Big wine and beer selection as well. Pay attention to the prices though - some things are definitely not as good of a deal as the "elsewhere" price can seem a bit inflated. I also find the meat and produce departments to be a bit pricier than local traditional grocery shops but not exorbitantly so. Of all the Groce Outs in the North Seattle area this is probably my favorite.

Great prices on a wide variety of items, produce isn't always the best but haven't had any issues with the fruit and mixed greens. Great place to buy meat and etc and save some money compared to qfc, fred Meyer, etc For 100 at grocery outlet you can get eggs, chicken, rice, beef, miscellaneous things, and your little sweet and salty snacks For 100 elsewhere you can get a pack of gum, a dozen eggs, and a 6 pack

I always shop here first before I go to other stores. There are some things that are usually there. But other things will show up unexpectedly at cheap prices. You can’t expect everything you want here, but the things you get are a massively better price. If you don’t shop here, your likely spending over a thousand dollars a year more then you need too

I used to be a big fan of this location but after today's interaction with an associate I may not be returning. I bought some items that were marked as one price but rung up as another. When I called to resolve this issue I was treated like some liar trying to cheat the store out of few dollars, lol. When the associate finally believed me they ended up hanging up on me....When I arrive to the store I was treated even colder than the phone call. Mind you I was polite and composed throughout the entire interaction. I even tried to apologize but they said nothing. When everything was done I thanked them and told them I appreciate it but still nothing. Owners, I suggest you retrain your associates, especially the client-facing ones(she might have been a manger).

I come here a lot with friends after school, but I came in today during the summer to grab snacks for a hang out. I asked if I should still put my bag down, because it’s summer, and I didn’t have a back pack, just a tote bag. The lady I asked said yes, so i tired to put my bag where it said to put them (which is on some sort of ice box) and it fell behind a sign that was not there before. I couldn’t reach it, so my boyfriend tried to push the sign up to grab it for me, when we heard yelling coming from the other side of the store, telling us to “knock it off” over, and over again. (Mind you, the sign was already detached from where I assume it was supposed to be screwed in) we repeatedly told her that we did not destroy anything, despite what she was accusing us of, however, she continued to be aggressive and hostile to us. A quote from her end was “you can’t just destroy things because you feel like it.” As if we were doing what we were doing with malicious intent.

Good prices and selection. Good order to aisles. Found what I needed and on my way, with a live cashier.

I always save between 35%-45% off the total. I always shop from the products that will have a sign with Safeways price and theirs. Every sign from the products I bought today especially(it's almost every time) was right with Safeways price. I spent a $105 today and saved $107. I would of bought more if I had the room. At least I can get usually 70%-75% of what I need from my biweekly list. This time was about 90%.

The older cashier woman working there ignored me and the person before me the whole time and threw items at both of us. Normally I wouldn't come all the way to public places to complain about this but what did me in was she was all personable and nice to the person before and after me and another person. The only difference I could tell? Skin color. I have been coming for their deals close to a year now but after today I'll be going elsewhere.

I typically go to a different grocery outlet but thought I'd try this one. My first trip went fine, although notably the produce was really sad so we passed on that. Still overall a satisfactory visit. My second trip went well until I got to the cashier, Marques. Marques made some very rude and judgemental comments on our purchases. We tried to be polite and say that everyone is entitled to their opinions just to end the unwelcome and unasked for conversation. However, they continued making mean passive aggressive comments. We again repeated that they were entitled to their opinion. Again they persisted and started talking about other things (not even in my shopping cart or at this retailer) that they would not purchase. It was extremely uncomfortable. I don't feel it's appropriate for someone in a customer service setting to shame customers on what they decide to purchase. Now, going forward, I'll probably go back to the other store so I can make my purchases in peace without worrying about being judged by the cashier.

Went from 5 stars to 1 ? used to be great but oranges have been rotten or moldy for 9 weeks straight. I go shopping every Wednesday and without fail the raspberry oranges and/or the Cara Cara oranges will be spoiled in fact ALL THIS LOCATIONS PRODUCE SEEMS TO BE ROTTEN OR SPOILING EVERY WEEK. I tell them every week and get excuses like "i didn't know" or "I'm not in charge of produce" until today I talked to the manager and they tried giving vague excuses until finally saying they have a distinct recurring issue with their produce but refused to explain why. Update: I've decided to just shop less here if they refuse to ever be better The new manager has simply inherited the same issues as the last without improvement

First time at this store. Never have I had anyone throw my items to bag. Cashier seemed so cheerful with the previous customer (men). She even bagged their groceries with their reusable bag. When it came to me she threw my items to my husband. Not a care in the world till my husband told her something. I have done customer service for over 30 yrs. I would never treat a customer as she did. Not sure Kat was having a bad day or she was just being racist sadly to say. Not even a thank you as she did to previous customers. If I return I guess like they say treat ppl as they treat you. Worst experience ever.

Review on 3/8/25 I will say this place is clean and has good stuff, but I had the worst experience. I watched a dude clear a shelf, and put a bunch of stuff in his bag and walk out ( tons of stuff) this was around 3pm. I told the woman wearing a yellow beanie about it, and she shrugged her shoulders, roll her eyes at me and walked off. What this tells me, is that you welcome shoplifting! Awesome I'll make sure to make it be known ( not). Just so you know when one person gets away with it they tell all their friends. I then get in line and my card doesn't work, and the cashier loudly says " insufficient funds". Which is embarrassing for anyone to hear, and there was a huge line behind me. Actually it was just my card not working. Just kinda " meh" experience. Too bad.

Make this your first stop and you'll never be disappointed! While the selection rotates, they have many items you can find reliably. They have a great selection of vegan, gluten-free, and organic foods, and I'm always discovering new brands I have never seen! Some prices are equal to other stores, but you will find deals that will blow your mind on every trip!

Grocery outlet is one of my preferred forest stores because of the bargain pricing and feeling that I am contributing to a less wasteful lifestyle by using products that could be disposed of if not consumed in a timely manner. We have bought a few products here that had expired before being removed from stock which was disappointing and has led us to feel the need to double check. Pricing is not as low as I would expect compared to some other locations. Staff was very stressed on Thanksgiving day right at closing and we watched management choose to stand and "supervise"while placing a lot of pressure on the checkout lady to yell at incoming customers about the early closure rather than take on that responsibility while she focused on a big line of rushing customers. Would like to see this place staffed a little better and be more consistent with product management. I see this checkout lady regularly and she is always working so hard, but I have noticed that she will occasionally make a mistake on my produce selection and I have been charged for the more expensive produce a couple of times which, as a bargain shopper, can be frustrating due to our high grocery taxes.

Store is back on the rise, but for now, keep your receipt. Last year the ownership changed hands. It took them a while to learn how to keep things running in ship shape, and many dependable staff have departed. They're trying. It isn't quite what it used to be, but the new owners are getting the hang of it, and slowly turning it around in earnest. Still, check carefully before you buy for expiration dates, box cutter punctures and proper shelving/pricing to avoid surprises at register or once home. If you do have a bad product or experience, however, management is sincerely dedicated to fixing it. I assume new management got in over their heads with poor documentation from prior ownership, and I hope they don't burn out. They're on the right path. I shop here regularly again. For those who are trying to haggle and don't get deeper discounts: it is often better for a grocer to donate to food banks at full value writeoff than sell on haggle. Local food banks are desperately short on food. Demand has risen, sharply, so it's a win-win to donate. They're not wasting food by refusing to haggle with you.

11-13-2024 I feel like the prices went up a bit. I also see that you have a lot more staff there which is nice. Everyone's friendly. This is still my first place to stop I love this place. Scott, hands down is the nicest person as are the rest of the team. They say hi, if you look like you need a hand they offer. And they let you use the restroom with a code which I'm grateful for because I drink a lot of water so, there's that.

It's too bad that the manager, when asked about a discount for very crushed items, instead chose to reply "we don't need to sell those, so they stay full price." Wow. I bet this person wouldn't have been a manager with the previous owners, but here we are. Sorry guys, that's pretty tasteless.

I had heard raves about this store, but after a recent visit I have to say I don't really get it. Maybe I just don't get the model - is it like a Big Lots where the selection depends on the procurement of deals? To be fair, I did find a couple of good values on natural chicken and beef. But I was surprised at the absence of things that I had found in the store 4-5 years ago when I last shopped here. There used to be a big aisle of bulk-sized products like dried beans, dried milk, etc. But those aren't there any more. The store organization was really odd, the selection also odd, and the prices only ok. I guess if you know what you want and they happen to have it you might be able to get deals.

Great place to get some seriously discounted food. Awesome deals on bread, eggs, and other kitchen staples. Veggies are reasonably priced and usually in good shape. You'll definitely find some off brand stuff on the shelf, so read the ingredients before you buy. They also have a decent selection of beer, wine, and NA beer along with soft drinks, juices, and dairy.
Oct 06, 2024 -
I go here mostly to buy discounted premium breads, spices at like half the price of everywhere else, and cheap pasta. Always worth a quick browse to see what's new. Not always the best prices, but always fun to see what they have. Consistenly lower prices than when things at big box chains go off sale. It's good to shop around, but once you've got a handle for what's in stock, you'll have this little voice in the back of your head saying "was this cheaper at Grocery Outlet?" That's the trick though. You can't always count on them for what you need, but when you can, it's a great comfort.

Older cashier lady was so rude! I saw how she was ignoring customers and being mean. If I could have avoided her line I would have but they only had one register open so I had no choice. Hopefully it was just a bad day for her but wow. Make sure what you're buying has the correct price lable cause I almost got ripped off. It was marked up $4 more than an almost identical item. When I went back and had another worker there help me see if it was the same he agreed but the manager said no and that he was just going to print up a label for them at the more expensive price. At least he was upfront about it, right? ?♀️ So I just did a return, not worth the rudeness, time and money. I always thought Grocery Outlet was supposed to have better prices, I guess not. ?

This place recently got new ownership. Unfortunately, who ever is buying has a serious sweet tooth. They used to have a good selection of dried fruit, healthy cereal options etc. Just a really good selection of healthy food. Now - everything in there is some candy flavored version of itself. Too bad - we used to spend quite a bit here each month. We won’t be back.

Prices are great and staff is generally helpful. They don't always know how to solve problems should they arise but they'll find someone who can if they don't. They only challenge with Grocery Outlet is the clientele ? People should understand that Grocery Outlet often buys products that are overstocked from other grocery chains so they may be nearing their expiration date. I would recommend checking dates on items if that's important to you or if you're buying large amounts of anything. Some of the items are not what I prefer but the prices are never unreasonable. They also have a great beer and wine selection for value shoppers.

Such great prices on items I normally buy at Fred Myers and Whole Foods. Makes me wonder why I shop at the other store.

Place has low prices and good food. Giod fir an after school snack. If you head out there with your friends you can buy a full load of candy or just sugar related things.

My FAVORITE grocery store. Great deals, friendly employees, lots of interesting high-end foods for crazy prices. Tons of selection of organic, gluten free, fancy-brand stuff, just what one would expect in hipster Ballard. Also, great wine and beer selection. It brings me joy to shop here. Seriously. I got all the food in this overloaded shopping cart for $116!
