What clients say about Whole Foods Market in Seattle Hill (WA)
-
Easy to find items, clean self serve areas and friendly employees. Whole Foods continues to deliver a great atmosphere.

Gigantic store with tons and tons of great products, parking however is very hard to deal with

Twice now we have had our return stolen by the employees here! They scan it, but it never makes it to the return warehouse!!! Beware and check your returns! We have to call corporate to get it fixed. Happened for a dashcam new in package, and for a pair of vogue glasses a few months ago. Same ladies working there each time. Whole Foods and Amazon corporate need to investigate this.

First time visiting this location. Clean, bright, large, but was here for Amazon returns. Will return to shop and look around.

Quite a large store… always clean… everyone is always kind. The Amazon return area is well organized. I’ve gotten catering for thanksgiving as well.

I have been using their grocery delivery service and find it cost-effective as well as a huge time saver. My only COMPLAINT Is that some of the staff working on my order are wearing essential oils or fragrances or are around incense. It's disgusting! Gives me a headache. Just got a delivery and my whole house stinks. To the manager: Please ensure people are fragrance free! 40% of the public is sensitive to fragrances: All the way from a headache to having to go to the emergency room. Fragrances are neurotoxins.

I drove across the bridge from the South Puget Sound area from Burien (where options are already slim since Amazon Fresh shut down in Federal Way and Prime delivery isn't the same) specifically to the West Seattle Whole Foods for a custom, made-to-order hot sandwich. The store's own website and Google Maps still clearly advertise "Market Sandwiches: made to order, whether you choose our signature combinations or invent your own." It's right there in black and white, no disclaimers about limited availability or staffing issues. I get there, excited for that warm, toasted, piled-high custom build I've gotten at other Whole Foods (like downtown Seattle spots or Roosevelt Square, where they actually deliver on this promise), and the deli counter flat-out says they don't do custom sandwiches anymore—due to "restrictions" or whatever excuse they're using these days. No sign at the counter, no update on the website, no heads-up anywhere online. Just a bait-and-switch that wasted my time, gas, and appetite after a frustrating drive. Whole Foods (and Amazon) make billions—there's zero excuse for not updating store-specific pages, slapping up a simple sign saying "No custom sandwiches at this location," or training staff to communicate this upfront. In a region with limited Whole Foods access south of Seattle (Tacoma to Federal Way has basically nothing reliable now), this kind of outdated, misleading info is especially infuriating. Customers shouldn't have to call every time or play guessing games just for a basic deli service that's still advertised as available. If you're going to promote made-to-order sandwiches company-wide, either make it consistent across stores or stop false advertising. This isn't a one-off; it's lazy corporate neglect that hits harder in underserved areas. Won't be back to this location, and it's pushing me toward local independents that actually deliver what they promise. Disappointing and unacceptable for a premium brand.

Joel provided the most amazing customer service! I needed help shopping and she was patient and kind. Looking forward to coming back.

Who doesn’t love Whole Foods? They have wholesome food and fresh flowers. When I am on keto, it’s my go to place to find low carb food and snacks. They also have great pizza (not keto) .

Smallest Whole Foods I've been to. Feels very unsafe; I've never been to a Whole Foods with ARMED security at the entrance of the store. Not a full selection of hot, pre-cooked food at lunchtime; half the available serving spots were had no food in them. This location feels more like a Safeway than a Whole Foods.

Apparently they don't teach proper food handling in the meat dept. at this whole foods. Employees use gloves to grab raw meat and then touch things using their dirty glove hand. Disgusting

West Seattle is a busy city. Parking is terrible except for the garage parking! I went to the Amazon drop off so I didn't shop. I would like to go check out the big inviting grocery store though. What I did see was great.

The 3 stars are for the awesome checkers that made me feel welcome and at ease after I was having several problems with my card at self checkout and it was a few minutes after closing. I was extremely embarrassed and flustered because the security card was standing over me telling me he needed to get out of there cause his shift was over and I needed to do whatever was the fastest method of payment. I finally had to tell him that him doing all that was making it worse because I was so frazzled I couldn't even type in my password for my card on my phone because I felt so bad for taking so long and he was only making it worse. He finally walked away and two nice checkers helped me and it ended up being a problem with THEIR SYSTEM, NOT my card. God I wish the security guard was there for that after the way he just spoke to me and made me feel. I let the checkers know I appreciated their patience and exited the store a few minutes ago still mortified but a lot less upset. Wish I had caught their names so I could mention them.

I wanted to order a pizza, the working hours are indicated as 11am - 7pm, at 6:35 they refused to make me a pizza. Why? They didn't give me an answer to this! ?

Everything Amazon touches drops 1-2 stars. You get it. Thriftway is just down the street and they are awesome and pay their employees well.

Limited selection, employees clearly hate their job, and if you're brown, don't be surprised if you're eyed with suspicion. At self-checkout, I've had 3 bad experiences with 3 different employees. On two occasions, I asked for assistance, and the employees acted like I was trying to rip off the store. Why ask for assistance with an item if I'm stealing? Rest assured, Whole Foods, I can afford to shop the store and will pay for my order. If it happens again, I'll be sure to explain this to the offending employee.

There's no disputing Whole Foods has great quality produce, prepared foods, and baked goods, if you can afford to shop here! A stop here is more of a treat for me, usually followed by a stop to the Amazon returns center. There's always something new in the cheese department! I also seem to always find something new to try in the 21+ drinks department.

The parking situation here isn't great for larger vehicles, it’s essentially nonexistent with only tight street parking or paid parking with a 2 hour minimum, and the store's selection feels a bit limited compared to other Whole Foods locations. Additionally, the placement of the Amazon pickup area could be improved. While it might work well for those who live nearby, if you're traveling through or specifically need to pick up an Amazon order, you might want to consider a different spot.

I'm so gald that I decided yo order a cake from Whole foods West Seattle. Rebecca from the bakery was extremely helpful in walking me through my cake order (over the phone since the website had a layout glitch). She made sure to confirm the order and explained the options and restriction . Upon arrival on the pick up date Jonica from Customer Service was attentive and went above and beyond to ensure My cakes made it to my car safely. 10/10 experience?? The Cakes were BEAUTIFUL BTW!!

I'm so happy I found exactly what I needed! Using my Prime account to check for discounts is always a smart move ?️. Even though there weren't any deals this time around, it's great to have that resource. Being able to track price changes is a huge benefit of Prime. Now I'm off to enjoy my new purchase! #amazonprime #shoppinghacks #nosalesbutstillhappy

This store has some issues, and I've begun going to Met Market instead. First, I'm constantly disappointed by missing produce items that force me to take an extra trip to another store. Every time I go to Whole foods, they are missing something. Basil is a big one. Second, parking here is a hassle. Not much they can do about it, but its a busy parking lot, shared by other businesses and apartments, a full two flights of stairs below the store. Finally, I'm a little blown away by the slowness of the checkers at this store. Zero urgency. I go self checkout, even when I have a ton of stuff because its faster.

Let's set aside Bezos and Amazon and all the other crap that complicates a view of Whole Foods. The five stars here are for the employees of this WF who are incredibly friendly, courteous, polite, helpfu, patient and quick. They understand customer service and perform it flawlessly.

Had an absolutely fantastic first experience here. Prices were cheaper than I had imagined, lots of incredible food. Loads of vegan and vegetarian options. Lots of unusual foods. Really really cool. Staff all very helpful and friendly. Used the return to Amazon kiosk whilst I was there also, very simple to use.

We shop at Whole Foods regularly, and the Prime membership deals are often a great way to save, sometimes even beating other grocery stores on prices. While the staff is generally friendly and helpful, the deli section could use some improvement—it’s not the most impressive. The hot bar and salad bar, in particular, are pretty unappealing and honestly shouldn’t be on display. On the plus side, there's always something unique or new to try, which keeps us coming back. Overall, it's a solid spot for groceries, but there are definitely areas that could use some attention.

The crew at this store is amazing - Laura in Deli, John in the cheese shop, and Stephanie in customer service all came to my rescue. On a day when they were already super busy, they bailed me out of an “emergency” - Amazon somehow canceled my order for party platters so when I arrived to pick up my non-existent order, they worked to solve it and get me what I needed to feed my expected 35+ guests, arriving in just a few hours. What an impressive display of cheerful, professional customer service!! Thanks, guys.

Is it clean? Sure. Nice enough produce. But zero out of ten times does my phone work for the Amazon membership and I can't simply buy my few items through self checkout. I'm always redirected to the main cashier and there's always a line defeating the quickness of self checkout. Won't be coming anymore as it's outrageously expensive compared to 2 other competing grocery stores within 5 minute walks surrounding here. Not a fan.

This Whole Foods location is close to my house and I like it. It’s, well, a grocery store. It’s a very modern grocery store with a lot of healthy choices. The customer service is okay and prices are expensive, but in a way, you are paying for quality. The poor customer service that I have experienced at times is the reason for my four star rating. As a vegetarian, I really enjoy their large selection of plant based products. They have many to choose from, and many that are not available from other grocery stores in the area. I really enjoy the ready to eat hot food. I work from home so I go there sometimes for lunch and they have everything from sandwiches to cheese lasagna, a salad bar, a hot bar, and more. The ready to eat food is always good! If you are looking for a grocery store with a large selection, great quality, and good ready to eat options, I highly recommend Whole Foods!

Great service. The folx there looked in the back for a case of something that was "out" on the shelf and they helped me find something I was seeking for the last 3 visits. Very friendly and has vegan marshmellows!!

Great place to shop your groceries at a fair price for very good quality. It used to be pricier but it has become more competitive since Amazon bought it. They often feature sales and amazing Amazon Prime deals. Everything is very clean and organized. Spacious aisles so you can shop while keeping your 6ft distance. The staff is knowledgeable about the products and very friendly. Amazing selection on snacks, soups. The meats and produce are excellent. A lot of local and very cool new products are sold here. Wide variety of vegan stuff. And I love their bakery! So yum!!! Wonderful store. DELIVERY and CURBSIDE PICKUP AVAILABLE.

Just opened around a week ago. Staff are really friendly. Everything was fresh and they had a great selection. It is really convenient if you are taking a bus and going to Whole Foods market. Its under apartment complex and right next to LA fitness.
