What clients say about Recycled Cycles in Seattle Hill (WA)

Jake worked with me for a couple hours to find a frame and all the parts needed to build a single speed. He went way above and beyond to help out on a busy Saturday. It's a rad crew over at Recycled Cycles!

Recycled—as the kids call it—is a true gem of a place. Great people, a huge trove of parts, and generally a good place to just hang for a bit. My favorite thing is the attention to consultation. I can come in with any question about any Bike, and they take the time to figure it out with me. They are true bike nerds!

Great shop, the used part selection was a major bonus finding miscellaneous parts or extra spare parts on a budget for a build. Staff and mechanics are knowledgeable about compatability bike parts if you have any questions.

I purchased a new Marin bike years ago at Recycled Cycles and came back today to buy a used kids bike for my daughter. Great shop with great prices on new and used bikes. Support your local bike shop instead of a big box store!

Always a good experience coming here. Super helpful staff and reasonable prices. Nice to go to a shop that feels authentically Seattle.

The BEST cycling and repair shop in Seattle. 1. Excellent product knowledge and great prices 2. Exceptional customer service. Jack, Andy, Jake and Nate bring hands on experience on parts selection, riding, and diverse riding styles to select and choose gear, bikes and products. No upselling and just real ness 3. Seasoned mechanics. I can’t speak highly enough of the service I’ve received. Henrietta, Max, Jules, Conor Aspen and Kirk ALL go above and beyond from tru ing a tire, brakes, to complex issues 4. Selling and trading is easy. I’ve recycled, donated and sold bikes. Both David’s are helpful, knowledgeable and really experienced with everything bike related. 5. Learning. I’ve learned so much at this shop. Everyone is generous with their time and really love cycling I’m long overdue to share a stellar review on google. I ride here twice a week and everyone goes above and beyond and knows me by name. Thank you RC. Your investment in my riding is much appreciated. Bo

I have been to recycled cycles many times but made my first purchase this week and followed up with service for a couple of other bikes. They are all awesome! Service! Sales! Everyone is super cool, helpful and nice. Jake who helped my 8 yo find a new to him bike. A Trek at almost 1/2 the cost of new. And they made sure everything was working before we left. So it was better than new! They even fixed the breaks because they found something that concerned them. 30 day warranty too. Henrietta, helped me today with my 10 yo's broken bike. She fixed all the brakes super fast! I told her if I could have the bike by school pick up he would be ecstatic! He rides his bike to school every single day. So taking it toget fixed worried me and him a little bit. She had it ready in less than an hour! And the cost was reasonable. My bike on the hand is a big job. It's sat around for almost 8 years. They told me exactly what was wrong and even said, your chain is rusty but fine. We can replace it but it's not needed. Then the told me the right lubricant to buy (it's not basic wd-40). They also did this without making me feel stupid, which is nice. They are full of knowledge and they want to help and share. It is costly but not unreasonable - it is a big job. And will take about 3 weeks but it works for me! Henrietta even chatted with me about ways to teach my husband to ride a bike. I don't think I'll visit another bike shop unless I move from Seattle. Also they have not only used bikes but all the accessories too! I got Trek water bottle holders for $3 each. They have everything you can be think of. Oh! Also they run a website you can register your bike in case it gets stolen!

Everyone I interact with here is so kind and helpful! They will work on e-bikes and help find used parts when possible. Turn around time is quick and the employees are respectful, even if you aren't a bike expert. So refreshing!

I've been biking in the U District area for almost 6 years and Recycled cycles has been there for me throughout the whole Journey. I've bought countless biking accessories, parts, and gotten almost my entire bike fleet serviced there at some point or another. They are an extremely solid bike shop who really cares about cycling and stands behind that. Every person I've interacted with there has been friendly, informative and overall a breeze to work with. Regarding bike service, I have always been extremely happy with the quality of work they have done for me and I've found the pricing to be very reasonable. I've had multiple experiences of popping in for a quick issue or question I've had about my bikes, and have always been well-attended. A few times I've even left without being asked to pay for minor adjustments or mechanical help, thanks to super friendly employees. Today I took in a Surly Bridge Club, hoping to get it tuned up for shifting issues. Upon speaking to Espen, I was given a good explanation of what was causing my issues and a price estimate. What I expected to be a multi-day service was completed in 15 minutes! Service was great and my Surly is now shifting without a problem! I would recommend Recycled Cycles to anyone, and I will continue being a loyal costumer.

I always have the most wholesome and helpful experiences at Recycled Cycles, the staff is knowledgable and everything is fairly priced. It is the place to go whether you're new to cycling and need some gear (I got my first pair of bike shoes here in 2019!) or need to upgrade your drive chain components.

Wow!!! What a wonderful place!!! I came with my damaged bike today. Someone was trying to steal it and took off the front wheel in the process. I was not sure what kind of damage was done and some parts were missing. I took my bike to the Recycled Cycles. I didn’t wait more than a minute. A gentleman from the service shop took my bike, assessed the damage and he was able to fix it in 5 min! He also adjusted the gears, brakes and pumped the wheels. When I wanted to pay for the service, he said, no need! He wished me a nice day and I was on my way. I was speechless! In the era of dismal customer service in so many businesses and prices that cause headaches, there is this wonderful bike shop, with fantastic people, human touch and superb customer service!!! Thank you Recycled Cycles!!! TEN stars and I will tell everyone to only service their bikes with you. I am for sure going to be a loyal customer for all my future bike needs.

I had a really disappointing experience here. I called ahead and was told they could fix a flat tire on my scooter, so I drove about 40 minutes to get to the shop from Renton. When I arrived, they immediately told me they don’t work on scooters at all and acted like they had no idea who I spoke to on the phone. The staff were dismissive, and didn’t take any responsibility for giving out wrong information. I left with completely wasted time without getting any help. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for honest communication or basic customer service.

Hands down one of the best bike shops in Seattle. I was a fan of JRA before it closed, but recently needed some work done on my older GT Edge. Everyone there is so incredibly helpful, easy to talk to and the bike service was outstanding. It turns out I had a few cracks in my rear wheel and they recommended a used one they had available with a solid Campagnolo Chorus rear hub. My bike is running better than ever and the shifting is spot on. I've been to other bike shops in the area and experienced either horrible customer service or spotty workmanship. Recycled Cycles is my go-to shop from now on!

Best bike shop I’ve been to. Walked in to replace a wheel, and they helped me find exactly what I was looking for. Entire staff was knowledgeable and welcoming. Thanks again Retired Cycles!

The staff were knowledgeable and patient, walking me through the different frame options and explaining the maintenance history of each bike. Their professionalism made the whole buying process smooth and enjoyable

This place is just everything I want in a bike shop - superb selection of used bikes and parts, along with some new products, friendly staff, reasonable prices. I bought a refurbished Kona road bike from here and it has positively changed my riding experience so much, I ride way more now (which is always the goal!). As a woman, being in a male-dominated activity is not my favorite, but the staff was SO friendly and welcoming and absolutely ZERO man-splaining was had. I say this to encourage more women to get on bikes as they're able - this place will outfit you so you leave confident and capable! I love that you can test ride right off the Burke. My only wish is that they had another location closer to me (North Seattle/Shoreline)!

The friendliness bike shop experience I've ever had, with a top notch selection of new and used bikes/bike parts! Absolutely recommend to anyone looking to get service done or browse their amazing selection of goods!

Just bought my first bike here as an adult learner and I'm so glad I went here. Nate really took his time to explain everything to me and helped me with test riding a few bikes and finalizing on the one I bought. There were a few other employees too who were very patient and helpful while Nate was busy helping other customers as well. On a random note, it was a heat-advisory hot kinda day in Seattle and I had a heat-exhaustion fainting episode in the store and two employees whose names I can't remember were very helpful, gave me water, and got me situated in front of an AC unit (thank you guys!). Well it was certainly a memorable store visit lol and I'm excited to ride around my new Kona Dew!

More cities need used part focused bike stores, this is exactly why I used to love working for a bike shop was to scavenge the used part bins and having a entire store for it was a dream come true. I came here to rent a road bike for the day and left with the parts id been sitting on purchasing for my own project bike because they were too expensive. I can not recommend them enough for parts and the bike rental was a great price with some nice touches like including a lock and helmet in the base price. I will definitely be making an effort to come back here with more space for stuff to send back.

I would give 10 stars if I could! This is a such great bike shop. Not fancy, not selling $10K S-Works, but an honest-to-goodness bike shop. I brought in a rear wheel I was having trouble re-mounting the cassette on. I waited no more than 3 minutes to talk to a mechanic, who immediately threw the wheel up on the bench and went to work! Whaaaat? No appointment 3 weeks from now?!?! Nope, he went to work on the spot! The issue was fixed in just a few minutes, and then he actually explained to me what the problem was and what I had missed. Then he charged me a VERY reasonable fee for the labor. (I would have gladly paid more). Kudos to you, Recycled Cycles. You are my new favorite bike shop that I will gladly drive/ride farther to get to, passing several other closer shops on the way.

I had such good service that I can’t imagine not leaving a five star review. I broke a spoke on my rear wheel this weekend and brought my bike into the shop. They said it should take 2 to 3 days because they were closed over the holiday. The bike was ready the first day after they were open again and it rides so much better than before. All I needed was the spoke fixed, but they oiled my chain and gears and adjusted the derailer as part of the service. Maybe that is standard service for a bike shop but I did not ask for that and they didn’t charged me for it either. I will absolutely bring my bike back here!

These folks live and breathe bicycles. They care about each other and care about you, the customer. I've interacted with many of the staff over my visits and everyone seems trained to the same standards of professionalism. Staff are great at expectation setting and knowledgeable in their field. Prices are reasonable. The city is lucky to have a place like this and I'll continue to fight the terrible traffic to get down here.

Walked in just to see what the shop had for 90s chromoly bicycles or frames. I approached Pat to help me narrow down what I was looking for. He showed me a 90s schiwin. the bicycle is of good quality considering its age. I road tested the bicycle and decided it would be a good fit for myself. Was able to make small adjustments to the bicycle at very reasonable prices for parts and labor. Pat answered any questions I had with a good attitude. I am satisfied with my visit and purchase.

Mac Et Al are elite. They’re knowledgeable, kind, go above and beyond. They accept Rainer beer as tips. And you should bring them some. My bike, Dutch, and I go everywhere and I’m so much healthier and happier because I have these pros by my side.

Amazing Store for vintage bike enthusiast. I came here 10.000 miles from my home and see the inside store for hours. It’s mind blowing and i can find every old parts that i need many years ago. A lot of good old frame that i wish i could bring back to my place.?? I feel like young kids found a chocolate candy store…

Such an incredible bike shop. Thank you especially to Pat who helped my husband and I coming in with zero experience/knowledge to feeling comfortable, supported and informed by the end of our shopping. He truly knows his stuff and was there for all of our questions and needs. The store has a mix of new and used and allows you to add all the bells in whistles for affordable prices. Can’t recommend enough and will be coming here for years to come!

Great bike shop down by the U district. They have lots in stock from bikes to parts, tools and everything else you’ll need. Took my bike in for a tune up and new tires. Quick turn around with quality results. I totally recommend.

Rented a bike for biking in the afternoon. Staff there are super helpful and friendly. I also asked for trail recommendation, they recommend Burke Gilman trail, which I like so much! Will definitely come back.

This is by far the best bike shop I’ve been to in Seattle! Love the people and they are always trying to help you out without making you pay more than you need to. My drop bar snapped and they were able to fix it for $65 including labor and new bar tape. Excellent service!
