Fox Chase Farm is such a hidden gem! They host family-friendly events throughout the year that are fun and educational. It’s a peaceful place to enjoy nature, see farm animals, and get a little taste of country life without having to travel too far. Always a relaxing and enjoyable visit.
This is our neighborhood family friendly farm. We always come here and try to support our local farm by purchasing eggs and produce from them.
This year we went to the sheep shearing for the first time. Which was today April 26, 2025. It was pouring rain outside and bleachers were set up to watch the sheep get their hair cut. We were asked to sit down so everyone could see. The bleachers are soaked and the rain is not stopping. So that was a little silly to be told to sit down on soaking wet bleachers. My 4 y/o went up to the gate to see the sheep getting its hair cut & was asked to sit on the soaking cold & wet ground. She did but got up fairly quickly since she was cold. She then was asked to move out of the way numerous times. She’s 4 & curious and she’s not an 8foot giant standing there covering everyone’s view. I thought this was ridiculous!! Then the crowd proceeded to ask “where her mother was”. I was watching her the entire time from the side with my 10month old. Holding an umbrella over his stroller so he didn’t get soaking wet as well. Not to mention I paid for my 4 y/o and myself to walk in for this event. Needless to say I won’t be going back with my kids to this farm. How she was treated was unnecessary and the lady running the event needed to take the rain into consideration and the fact that she’s a curious 4 year old. There was no need to single her out like that. She wasn’t bothering anyone. And then for everyone to question my ability as a mother they can all go shove it up their you know what. I’m beyond disappointed in Fox Chase Farms. I can’t believe that they would treat a 4 year old like that. There was an entire crowd in front of me and I could still see the sheep getting its hair cut. The crowd chiming in asking where I was like I would just leave my child by herself needed to be asked to be quiet.
The weather was terrible for this event. With that being said it wasn’t an ideal situation to hold the event in the first place so don’t yell at my child for not wanting to sit on the soaking wet and cold ground!!
I'm not happy at all. No hay ride or corn maze this yr. I feel like those were the most favorable activities ? kids were looking forward to it n price went up as well with less things to do no entertainment for the kiddos
One of the employees was very sensitive, uncivilized, and unreasonable. He yelled at me and expected me to hear him while the car windows were up. He thought I ignored him and got angry while he was waving towards me. However, I just couldn't see him because I was backing up and trying to park. It was super crowded, and nothing was organized. It's a pity that I can't give a 0 out of 5 because it really is!
I love it here, but it would be much better with different management. Active staff and farmer are amazing. Pennypack Environmental Center's festivals there are the best. The animals and learning experience with Olivia and Farmer Fernando are wonderful every time we visit.
It was very smelly and I step on animal waste. Take notes fox chase farm. Clean the animal waste please so I can bring my kids there. There were too many sticks and my kids fell on the dirt. The dirt was wet.
Annual Apple fest today was a bust. It was very disappointing. $5 entry, a few food trucks, about 1 table that sold apple butter. A apple cider tasting but NO cider to buy. I was looking to buy apple items. I was in and out in under 30 monutes. At least the weather was beautiful that was the best part.

Wait…what is this thing? A duck’s bill, a rooster’s crow, a chicken’s tail, web feet, makes a hissing sound? A living turkducken?
It's not really open to the public, but they do have a small farm stand. You can park on Pine Rd and walk a little bit, and it was beautiful fall weather for a visit. We got farm fresh eggs, apple butter and homemade spaghetti sauce.
Perfect photo opportunities with the leaves on the ground and all the colorful foliage.
Fox Chase Farm is beautiful and has a great deal to offer people of all ages. It’s a vast natural space. There are cows that roam freely behind a fence for you to admire. They are frequently near the road. They also offer a variety of special events that vary. Many focus on a food, for example apples or maple syrup. It’s a nice place to relax in the quiet. There is parking on Pine Road.
I really enjoyed this outing. I love that they opened the working farm to the public. There were several activities for the kids and an opportunity for them to participate by making a bat box. The hayride was the proper place to take the scenery in. The staff was patient& friendly. Can't wait to go back in the fall!
We went to the Sugar Day 2019 and met friendly and knowledgeable volunteers. One gentleman with a tree ID table was GREAT to talk with! The gentlemen boiling down the sugar at the outdoor fireplace were nice snd informative. There are some farm animals and it's a nice place to take young children.
My husband and I visited the fox chase farm for the maple festival they held. We do not have a car but still managed to take public transportation (it was a long journey but it was worth it!) Little did I know that I would be tasting the best pancakes I have ever had.
They ground the wheat in front of you and used it to make the pancakes which were of course drizzled with maple syrup.
After living in the city so long it was refreshing to be outdoors exploring this farm and the animals that live there!
Came on a class trip with my second graders. They were delighted. They loved meeting the friendly animals. We were the only class there at the time so they could take their time. They especially loved the calf and feeding the sheep. (The farm has hand sanitizer posted at strategic locations.) Will absolutely return next school year!
A great place to visit. We went during a family day event, but would love to visit any day of the week. I have four grandsons and they had a blast. Check the website before visiting because there are limited public access days. Couldn't believe there's a farm in Philadelphia!
Went there for Maple sugar day. It was a really cute set up and fun for both me and my 6 year old nephew! cute fun games for kids to play, sand art, baked good for sale at great prices, samples, learning about how maple syrup is made. It was a great experience
