I went in there for one simple problem and ended up leaving with multiple engine problems so the bottom line is zero stars if I could but can’t so I dont recommend them!
Ran over a snow bank that had turned to ice, which made a clean break on the muffler. Looked up nearby places and found H & L, gave them a call and the person that picked up said they could get me in. Got to H & L and was greeted by Sonic, they got me in right away, lightning fast repair by Jeff at a very reasonable rate. Highly recommend this place for a muffler repair, they were kind, courteous, professional, and super skilled. So grateful for the quick fix to an otherwise stressful situation.
I went from 2.5" to 3" inch exhaust on my Mustang and they did a great job. The job needed some engineering but they did it. Now I'm going back for a muffler change.
Got a resonator delete three or so years ago still holding strong welds I was thare for about 15-20 mins. A year or so ago toke my buddy thare n same thing in n out with great quality work!!
Just being honest. Finding a mechanic is nerve wrecking as a woman. But this place didn’t over charge me and they got to the root of the problem….AND QUICKLY. There was no BS! They have great customer service and I appreciated and needed a place like this today! You never know what a person is going thru and they really made my day and didn’t take advantage. If you need that this is your place. I’m really grateful for them. And ladies go here if you need a reliable trustworthy mechanic. They got you!! Amazing service. Went to get a catless downpipe installed and all workers were respectful & knew what they were doing. If you need any muffler work, I highly suggest this place - they were able to get me in the same day.
Great experience. I had an exhaust leak on a rusty pipe downstream of the catalytic converter and was identified immediately and shown to me when my truck was on the lift. I was informed of the price prior to the work. The service was friendly and fast at a reasonable price. I paid cash. A new pipe was cut and welded in replacement of the section of the leaky pipe. I was in and out in 15 minutes. The location is on a narrow street with no parking but the surrounding streets had plenty of parking. I would recommend this shop for any welding services.
Poorly ran establishment I was behind one car but some how another car got in before me so I had to wait longer than expected turning into 1hr and 30min especially when one of the workers wasn't doing any work and the other worker ran to autozone apparently. I won't be coming back. Imma go to another shop that's got enough workers to be working on multiple cars at once so it's less of a wait time.
UPDATE: business owner responds and completely misses the point of what I'm saying. Why have a line/order if you don't follow it? P.s. ik which side was the mechanic and the welding side. I just took the pic the way my car was parked. Don't dodge complaints answered them to your best ability. "Remember quality over convenience" ?? I've had yall work before it ain't nothing to get hype over or say is better than others. But first customers even have to get in to see the so called quality.
I was directed to the H&L Auto Welding Shop by some customers in a well known auto parts store during a conversation about getting new catalytic converters installed. At that shop, the exact new parts were ordered and and finally detailed welded in place... Quickly!! The 'Check Engine' warning light is not on anymore and my car runs quietly and smoothly again. The cost for that job was Very Reasonable! Also, there's a mechanic that does more than engine work. I could see that he was focused on doing quality work by the extra time put into what he was doing. There's many people in Philadelphia who definitely need to know about H&L Auto Welding Shop!! I feel fortunate to discover them. They're Awesome!!

Great Shop & the People that work here treat you like Family. They won't Cheat you on the Prices or Fix to Break something else... I'm a Mechanic myself and I will let them work on my car anytime my car needs a Major Service!!!
Willing to replace a catalytic converter without replacing the entire length of pipe on either side of the converter bu cutting the defective converter out and welding in a new 1. This method costs only 25% of replacing the full piping, which is not necessary. I know this method is effective as I've had it done 2 or 3 times before on a previous car.
These guys took great care of me I needed a new exhaust y-pipe... So the owner himself came in and customized the pipe for me.... Excellent work Greek staff great price.. Whoa!!! Great service, got my crooked as heck exhaust from an accident on my BRZ straight again. This was a cut and weld job on stainless steel! Prompt and courteous. Just keep in mind that the techs start at roughly 9am even though they open at 8am ish. Oh and there is a tiny waiting room with an air conditioner that clients can hide out in from the heat.
Excellent service. I brought our car in for a flex pipe mend. I had already bought the right part. They had no problem putting it on and fixing up a spot in the back end. It sounds and runs better than when we got it.

Got two catalytic converter’s stolen from my SUV. Was quoted 2500 at another shop. Took it here and they fixed it for a fraction of that cost. Very upfront and they explain the whole process of fixing it to me. Highly recommend this place.
Damien was great and the staff was very helpful. I had a catalytic converter stolen and Damien found a converter that fit my car the same day I called. Once the converter came in, we set up an appointment same day and his staff installed the converter in 45 minutes. Great price, great staff, great work. If I ever need help again, I will be going to H&L Auto.
Great experience. They are honest and transparent. Jeff was excellent. He explained everything to me including all the parts and how much they cost. 100% would recommend for anyone looking for mechanic or muffler/exhaust work!
Just left here and I need to first say it was exceptional and speedy work. Been having troubles with my last mechanic. And went here and they not only told me the real problem but fixed and showed us each the parts and the results are amazing definitely coming back
Went to get my new exhaust done for my honda accord didnt know any good place so my friend sent me here. Whole team of great guys who delivered superior service. Definitely would recommend to anyone these guys you can trust.
this shop I recommend to all my friends & family. From Damian to the gentleman that worked on my car nickname k and another guy (idk his name) are always so professional and helpful when it comes to fixing my car after these 2 kids hit n run on me frankford n Allegheny. They are fast however precise making sure I am safe to drive. They are honest n it’s important to be able to trust your mechanic. Justin welded my exhaust back together after someone tried to steal my catalytic converter - he did it fast, for a fair price, did a great job, and is a nice guy. Nice guys, best price I found anywhere, quality work, very fast install with no appointment. I got cheap/faulty hardware from an amazon purchase but they were able to install using their own and make it work. Highly recommended.
You guys have to check this place out. They did a great job on my car exhaust. I was getting the muffler deleted and put the dual flame tip on. My car now looks fire and has a warm loud exhaust.
I'm not satisfied with the service at all. My car now has noise which didn't have before. I will not recommend it to anyone. Because of them my car is making different noise I know how my car problem was. Horrible service ever. Price too isn't worth the fixed. It doesn't get better only worse. Please don't go to them if you work for your money bye, bye...
i never write a bad review against Joe muffler on 5th street i been there and the service was good, job was well done and problem was fixed. i know i didnt have the problem that i have now. it different bro. because your only changed one part in the front without changing the other one. that was the deal look i paid 150.00 and not satified.
