You typically think of people at a scrap yard as maybe being rude, but everyone here is really nice and helpful.
Also the place is in pretty good order so you feel safer here than some other places where there is just trucks and sharp metal all over.
Was no nonsense payment also, they weigh the stuff, give you a receipt and you claim your money right then and there.
Few tips though, if you take windows, bust the glass out first, and any kind of pressurized gas tank must be either cut in half or punctured for them to take it, but make sure you have a professional do that.
i just wanna say to people who said the owner is rude they are not but the owner there is a great person dave that who you have to talk to if you want a better deal
1 of the best scrap yards in Philly. Me and my boyfriend are regulars here and prefer this yard to all the others around the area. The staff is friendly and it's a more personable yards compared to the rest. We popped our tire there and despite them closing in mins at the time, the owner and staff did any and everything they could to accommodate and help us replace it. If you're looking for a easy going, personable scrap yard, this is the place to go.
I was hesitant to come here at first based on the mixed reviews, but I was willing to give the place a chance. However, after my experience, this place was TERRIBLE!!! The owner was very rude and they were not up front about the pricing. They do not pay anywhere near as much as other scrap yards, and they told me “your number two copper wasn’t needed here because it only weighed 20LBS”.(which shouldn’t matter if it’s one pound or 100 pounds) Please do not be fooled by the positive reviews!! I will take my business elsewhere and hope this review helps others watch out.
P.S. They lied about the pricing on the phone, and I had to find out the true pricing after they had already taken all my metal scrap somewhere else.
This place is a complete rip off. They do not know the difference between the grades of copper wire and they do not tell you anything about pricing untill they have sorted all your wire.
They tried to take the wire I took the time to sort out and throw it on the ground and said “you can take your wire back”. In which case, left me no choice but to take the money or else sit there and sort through all my copper again. Will never recommend this place to anyone. Atlas in Essington beats there customer service and prices any day of the year!!!!
Dave is a genuine guy, upfront on the prices with no shenanigans. Aisha is always polite and on her A game with the tickets, never had there been an error. Gil is always respectful and on top of things no matter what is going on.

Just went today, they will rip you off for sure. I have the reciept, went to sell my copper, aluminium, and brass. They charged for copper and brass but not alumminum, i founded out that they ripped me off at the end when I left looking at the receipt seeing they charging me for only 2 but not 3. Find another place.
Take my words for this and your will find much betyer places. RIP YOU OFF FROM THE BACK WITHOUT YOU KNOWING.
Unlike most scrap yards in Philadelphia (and I've been to most of them) PMARR is rated top in my book. There isn't any hassle getting in and out of the yard, prices were similar if not higher than other yards in the area, everyone was friendly and professional. Not to mention the "HOT" girl at the window! will definitely return there in the future.
