The team at Universal Auto Repair always gets my car back to me quickly! They do great, quality work. After mechanic shopping for years, it feels great to have found a mechanic I can trust and rely on.

Great service, they were understanding, they took the time to figure out what was wrong with my tire and was able to fix it.

Woman in the office has a horrible attitude and the head mechanic is condescending! They put bad tires on my car and over charged me! Every quote from them is at least 400 more than any other shop within a mile. Save yourself a headache and go somewhere else

Edit: The service was a waste of time, but the owner's dishonest and aggressive reply to this review is the real red flag. Avoid. The owner is now claiming I only called for a price. This is false. I called to check availability for today (Black Friday). Omitting the fact that you only accept morning drop-offs when I called specifically about that service misled me. This is a critique of their lack of hospitality and professionalism. Called in the morning asking if they would do an inspection and emission test. Told me yes. Came later that afternoon and turned me away telling me I needed to drop it off in the morning another day.

I had an absolutely amazing experience with Universal Auto Repair! Another shop quoted me over $2,200 for the work I needed, and Universal did the same job for less than half the price—with incredible quality and service. From start to finish, they were friendly, patient, and took the time to explain every detail so I fully understood the costs. The repair was completed in just one day (when others told me it would take several), and everyone I interacted with was so kind and professional. I’m new to Philly, so finding a trustworthy auto shop was important—and even though Universal is nearly a 40-minute drive from me, it’s absolutely worth it. I’ll be coming back here for all my car needs. Huge thank you to the whole team!

Extremely low quality parts that they’ll try to disguise as genuine + bad craftsmanship = stay away! My BMW needed new front brakes and I couldn’t get an appointment with the dealership for a while so i decided to get it serviced at Universal (HUGE mistake). They seemed capable and were accommodating with my schedule. Fast forward a week after getting my brakes done and I started to hear screeching every time I break. Called them and they told me to bring it in. They said it just needed a little adjustment and I should be good. Fast forward a couple of weeks after that and we had the same issue again. Brought it back in and this time they said they used the warranty to swap the pads for new ones and this type of issue “almost never happens and I should be good from then.” Within a month we were right back at it. I made them aware and wasn’t able to get to the shop for another month. When I finally did, their posture was completely different this time around: extremely unprofessional. I was given a speech about haven waited too long to return back to the shop and how I must be breaking too hard; I was in disbelief. At that point I realized it was time to call it; these people were either incompetent or fraudulent. Took my car to a reputable shop and had to pay once again for the breaks to get done properly and with genuine parts. The other shop also discovered they had broken a couple of the wheel locks too. All in all, I had to pay for brakes twice and to replace parts that universal had damaged in the process of this debacle! JUST STAY AWAY!

Great work, had car back within 2-3days! catalytic converter replaced and car working like new.. only place ill go, after every other place didn't know how to fix my car or kept car for weeks without actually fixing it.. even worked with me on payment.

I had an appointment scheduled, but due to heavy traffic I arrived 15 minutes late. After traveling almost 35 minutes to get there, I was met with zero hospitality or professionalism. A staff member, very rude and temperamental, told me to just leave the car if I wanted, without giving me any chance to explain the issue or ask questions. There was absolutely no cooperation, no understanding, no courtesy, and no willingness to help. In the end, my time was completely wasted, and nothing was done. 0 hospitality, 0 courtesy, 0 consideration, 0 cooperation, 0 understanding.

Dropped my 2013 Explorer off because the check engine light was on and on need of new oxygen sensor. 3 hours later car was done. Great service. Good price. Probably half of what the Ford dealer would charge. Will be back for inspection and future service when needed.

They are absolutely fantastic. I have been there 4 times in the last 2 months, a lot of bad luck with flat tires apparently. Everything they do is quality work and very reasonably priced.

As soon as I left, the warning came up again. Here are photos of the warning. It looks like I have to take it to the actual Audi dealership since you cannot help.

Ronny gets all my BMW maintenance needs handled. Gets everything done correctly, in a timely matter, and at reasonable prices. Every issue I've come to them with they have solved for me!

I’m a little late leaving a review but here goes! Had an accident in early November - busted radiator, engine fans and AC. I didn’t have collision - doh! I’m local and heard good things, Universal did not disappoint. They were able to sort it out quickly and at a fair priced. Thanks again!

This was the most amazing experience! My car broke down I had to get it towed there and the young lady at front desk did everything to help me even spoke to my warranty company to see if they would cover it and they did! They definitely have a new customer with me! I’ll be back for sure! Hopefully not too soon though lol

Was looking online for a reliable, honest mechanic I could trust, since mechanic that once serviced my vehicles for 10+ years was no longer in service. Came across Universal auto repair and they great reviews, so I decided to make an appointment. Explained exactly what I was experiencing when driving. At first glance they couldn’t pin point the issue but with a bit more info from me they figured it out. Also had inspections/emission and daylight replaced. Will be taking my vehicle to them going forward. If looking for a trustworthy and friendly shop this is the one. Highly recommend 👍

Universal Auto Repairs was recommended to me. I called, and set up an appointment. The appointment process was easy. The day of my appointment was just suppose to be a diagnostic test, just to see what was wrong, but I was also able to get my veh fixed the same day! That in of itself was a blessing! The first thing that stood out was the customer service. Excellent customer service!! The wait time was not long at all considering what needed to be done. While waiting, I was able to get some valuable information about cars from the receptionist!! It was nice to know that everyone that works at Universal Auto is knowledgeable about cars. If you want a reliable shop where you can come and have a sense of comfortability knowing you're getting excellent service for a great price, then Universal Auto is the place. Don't just take my word, try them out and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

My Honda CRV needed repair after a collision with a deer. Universal worked quickly with my insurance company, advocating for the best service and new parts for my repair. The office kept me up-to-date on the status, and I had my car back within days. Looks great and drives well. I would definitely use them again in the future — honest mechanic with great prices.
