Have disposed of countless carloads of stuff here over the years. Have never had a problem. The staff are always helpful and courteous. Sounds ridiculous but access to this location has been a hidden gem of living in the area.
Trash Recycle Worker REFUSED to place the recycle bin back in front of residents' home. The resident told the worker that he was putting the bin in front of the wrong home. Well, to my surprise, the worker's action/attitude was "piss-off." Female worker used profanity directed towards me because I was getting the license plate of the recycle trash truck. These people signed up for this type of job and acted disrespect and used aggressive language towards me. Y'all didn't put the bin back in front of the right home. So, they're mad because this was brought to their attention. This true and accurate negative review would not be necessary to be documented if these workers just show respect. Okay. Hopefully, I won't have to write y'all again behind disrespectful, ill-manner, rude, nasty trash workers of the City of Philadelphia. I had to take time out of my day for this nonsense. I’ve been here several times, typically on Saturdays. The first time, I got yelled at by the workers, because I wanted to ask them a question and I disrupted the movie they were watching in the hut they hang out in. My most recent time I went, I needed a new recycling bin. After cursing out an old man in front of me, the worker told me that they were out of bins, even though I pointed out to him there was a large stack of them right in front of me. Do they just staff the place with disgruntled employees?
Only thing you need to know is that leftover sheet rock from light construction can't be dumped. No concrete products will be taken. You will need to go to a concrete recyclers business. If you can't wait for garbage pick up day, go and get your trash dumped here. It saved me a lot of headache and worry about having too much stuff in front of the house. Spring cleaning is in full effect!
I've made at least 3-4 trips to this location, over the years. Never had any hassle about unloading my personal truck. You simply tell them what you have, and staff points you in the right direction of where to dump it.
While I'm thankful we have an option for dumping yard waste, I didn't appreciate being hollered at and made to feel like I was doing something wrong. Additionally, the employee had me put recycling into a trash truck with non-recyclables. If you're going to have an attitude, you should at least back it up with better operations.
Not a bad place to get rid of excess trash but they really need to give a better look at their posted times. It says opened on Black Friday but then closed when you get there since you can't even call to check. When we showed up there were 2 other vehicles who were also under the impression that they were opened yet they weren't. Typical city bullcrap.
This place continues to close 15 -20 minutes before the posted times !!!! I guess those in charge don't read the reviews or listen to the complaints that myself and others in the neighborhood have called in.
I took yard waste rolled in tarps and wasn't permitted to dump it into bins that contained loose bushes. So why is it some people can dump yard waste without bags and others aren't allowed.
Totally painless process to drop off trash excess; sorting sections are clearly marked, back of the garbage truck is easily accessible. They take air conditioners, e-waste, garbage, appliances, you name it. Staff are helpful.
They don't actually recycle, they throw all recycling in regular garbage trucks and don't even care when i called. No matter how short staffed you are that doesn't give you the right to not recycle. Shame on you. BTW Republic Services says there's no reason why recycling shouldn't be picked up since its a separate division.
The key word is in it's title, Convenience! We're trying very hard to take up and help out in the area of household trash collection. You can drop off your trash, yes. Also so much more : eWaste (computers,printers, TV's ect.) Yard waste, recycling.bring your trash. Help your local sanitation workers and your neighborhood. Very handy centers to have. And there is one for every trash collection area.
The staff at the Domino Lane Transfer station is the best. Very professional and just teh right amount of friendly. They keep things moving for us all, and keep the site shipshape. I also love that they collect yard and lawn waste for green recycling. Because of that work, basically nothing from our yard hits the trash.
Been going there a lot lately, fast, easy, and convenient. Wish they would help you load your stuff into the dumpster, other than that, nice place to drop off your trash.
Great improvement & Finally Some Organization. In the pass I had a lot of ridiculous situitions here .. just because I have a truck with tool boxes. Work/family vehicle.... .
Almost exactly across the street from the Northwest Transfer Station. Very convenient for getting rid of stuff between pickups. Friendly people. Separate trucks for recycling and for yard waste, separate places for electronics, tires, metal. With all the trucks that use Domino Lane, it could stand a repaving.
