Super friendly and beat all the prices on the street filled with mechanical shops! Will definitely be coming back

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL --- I took my car to another mechanic and he fixed all my issues for under 600 Dollars. Meanwhile Cantic told me to junk my car, charged me 50 dollars for nothing. Do not go to this guy if you are a person of color. I guess the other reviews were right. One of my worst experiences. I brought my car in, asked for a tire replacement and a diagnostic on my car. I was told no work would be done until they called me. No one called until days later and they said my work has been done. I asked how? No one called and no one gave me a diagnosis on my car. Even with the tire, I asked if they could check it to see if it could be patched and no one ever called. They basically didn't do anything I asked. Later they said the tire I had was bad and told me I could get a new one. I brought in the new tire and asked again for a diagnostic. This time they ran it and told me essentially my car was too bad to work on. I asked if they can provide a list on everything wrong with it and they said yes and they'd call me when the car was ready for pick up. A week goes by and no one ever called. I finally reach out to them. They have me pick up the car and when I get to it I see they literally DID NOT PUT THE NEW TIRE ON. So now I have a car mounted on what they told me was a bad tire and to make things worse, the battery is now dead. So now thanks to coming to this shop, I have a car on a bad tire, wasted almost 3 weeks and spent about 50 dollars for nothing but a questionable diagnosis from a shop that wouldn't confirm anything, didn't listen to my requests and get this... They didn't even write down what's wrong with the car for me. I hate leaving bad reviews but with so many auto shops in the area literally go ANYWHERE else. I seriously do not understand how this place calls this customer service. I just wanted to support local.

Asko has taken care of all cars I’ve owned for years now. I always appreciate the quality of work and positive energy here. I would recommend Cantic Auto to folks with European cars looking for specialized repair expertise.

We drove into Chicago from Ohio - weird squeaking noise we didn’t recognize. Ran to this shop to ask what was going on and the mechanic closed the shop to take it for a test drive and brought us into the back to raise her up and take a look. He found the problem and fixed it in a matter of ten minutes all while showing my partner what he was doing. When he was done, he didn’t charge us at all just gave us cookies and sent us on our way. Not sure what the issue was, it must’ve just been incredibly easy, I’ve never felt so safe at a mechanic. Almost too good to be true, I wish I could bring my car in here whenever I had a problem!

Took my car in to repair suspension and was told I t was something else. Not only did I walk away without the problem being solved, I now have an even bigger issue. My wheels feel like they are fall off if I hit the right potholes. Evertytime I go in,he's always too busy and acts as if my issues is no big deal. I really think he pretends to be nice and caring and helpful, but that's just part of the hustle of many mechanics. Most don't know what they're doing with German cats, but will absolutely pretend and take you cash. Overall, I don't suggest going there, especially if you have a complicated a$$ VW. Take it to the dealer and pay the price. It's not worth the pain and suffering of dealing wi t h shady mechanics at this place.

The best mechanic in Chicago area. Professional and trust worthy. Very affordable and quick in maintenance. Never had an issue. He takes care of 3 of my vehicles.

Fast, no nonsense, honest, friendly and expert mechanic! He knows his trade so well, diagnoses the problem in a blink of an eye and fixes it the best it can be fixed. I finally found a great mechanic I can trust who is also extremely fair in his pricings. I will absolutely return and will send friends and family his way.

I have never been so disappointed in my life. The owner hasn't returned my call. The problem was my enging. He put a new one in he even gave me warranty on it but that engine was defective I took the car back to him now he won't tell me wants wong. He has been having in my car in his shop over 2 months and still no answer planing to take legal action

Hassan (Hasko), the owner, is a great business and family man. I've been coming here with my beat up 2005 BMW (that has required a ton of work) for a few years now and they've worked miracles for my car. Their quality of work has been nothing less than 5 stars and I've never doubted their ability in completing a job efficiently and honestly. Cantic Auto Repair is the only mechanic I recommend to my friends and family. I've been to other mechanics (due to car breaking down nearby that mechanic) and they've always tried to overcharge and/or attempt to charge for unneeded fixes. I sleep easily at night knowing that when my car inevitably breaks down again, I have a mechanic I can rely on to have my back.

I have been coming Cantic for several years for all of my car needs. Asko is so nice, fast, fair, reliable. They are true professionals and I would highly recommend bringing your car here for everything!

I have been taking every family member’s car here for years. The mechanics here amazing, reasonable priced, and most importantly they are honest. They will not try to squeeze money out of you like most other mechanics in the city. They will tell you honestly what the issue is, what repairs are required or optional, and give you a fair price to get the repairs done. They do a wide range of cars, and source great parts.

This place was fantastic! Needed a starter, the owner came and got the car, git it in right away, took less than a day. They filled up all the fluids and replaced the badly needed windshield wipers. All the staff were super friendly & helpful. We are sold on this place from here on out! Thank you!

I have gone to Cantic Auto Repair for over a year now. Oscar is so knowledgeable about cars and only employs a staff that meets his expectation of standard. I brought my car in several times to him and will not have anyone else do work on my car. He is honest, and does not try to scam you for extra service or nickle and dime you. He is willing to take the time to figure out any concerns regarding my car and my car then runs better the day I got it!!

I hate to give this good review bc it means I’ll have more competition for an appointment. Customer for 9yrs and counting. We even drive across town to stay with Cantic. Trustworthy, affordable, and don’t speak down to women customers. Always uses original parts. I ♥️ Cantic Auto!

My CRV was making scraping sounds at low speeds and while braking, and a loud whining sound in reverse. I figured the scraping sounds were brake pads and/or rotors (or maybe a wheel bearing), but was worried the whining sound could have been the transmission or differential. I had been avoiding taking the car anywhere after a few bad experiences at other mechanics and not really trusting anyone. I called and they said I could drop off the car later that day. I drove over and they asked to ride around the block with me so I could point out the noise, which was much more reassuring than just handing over the keys and leaving. When I put it in reverse and it made the whining sound, he immediately said that sound was the brakes. I pointed out the scraping sound and he thought that was also the brakes. Back at the shop, he walked around the car with me, I think looking at the wear on the rotors. He said he would get it up on the lift and give me an estimate soon. About an hour later, he called and said the rear brake pads needed to be replaced and that the front pads could be replaced now or I could wait a few thousand miles for those. I thought about it but then told him to just do the rear pads for now and that I would be back for the front pads in a few thousand miles, which I definitely will. He said that the rotors were okay and didn't need to be replaced or even turned. An hour after that, they called and said the car was ready and that I could pick it up. When I picked it up, I asked how badly the pads were worn and he went back into the shop and got the old pads, and explained what was making the scraping and whining noises. The price was great. It was the advertised labor rate and barely any markup over the online price for parts, if any. In addition, he confirmed he had loosened the transmission drain plug and tightened it again, which was something I had asked him to do since it was really stuck on there when I had tried and failed to remove it myself to drain and refill the fluid. As someone who would do basic work on my own car if I had a garage or driveway, I'm extremely happy to have found an honest mechanic with fair prices. I will be bringing my car back in the future and would be comfortable telling anyone in the Chicagoland area to bring their car here. Highly recommended.

Owner and his entire team are professional, courteous, and their work is excellent. I’ve had an oil leak due to a mechanic not closing an oil cap after changing my oil at the dealership. Asko towed my car and fixed the problem in no time. This summer my AC got clogged and all the water was coming into my car. Askos team took care of the problem right away again. Today I’m getting my tires changed. I made an appointment and as soon as I came in my car was taken to be serviced. I’m so glad to have found such a great mechanic. If you need an honest, professional and capable mechanic look no further. I own a BMW X 5 and Honda Pilot and I don't trust any other mechanic with our vehicles serviced only by Cantic for the past 5 years!! Great service, skilled technicians and extremely honest business owner is a rare find in this world. I'm glad I met Mr. Cantic and I don't trust anyone else with my family's cars. I have referred many friends and family and have not received a single complaint. If you need your vehicle serviced look no furher!!
