ABM is excellent! We’ve been going to them for about 15 years and they service all of our vehicles. They have always been honest and upfront about what’s needed and what’s optional, their prices are fair, and their work is impeccable. We have Toyota’s that are 15 years old and we can keep driving them because of ABM! Highly recommend them.
So happy I found this repair shop so close to home. They were thorough, explained everything needed and all the work done. Easy to deal with, and fairly priced, I’d definitely recommend others to use these guys.
The repair was decent and quick. HOWEVER, they added me to both paper and email mailing lists and even though I've tried to unsubscribe several times, I still keep getting stuff from them, even after several months.

Having to get your car fixed sucks but these guys were easy to work with, honest about what needed to be done right away and what could wait and had my car ready to go in one day. Took my husband's car there the next week and had the same fast & friendly experience.

I found them by accident 2 years ago, but 6/5 mechanic shop. I’ll list just 3 experiences, but all have been great over the years.
-came in under Costco for installed tires w/warranty
-came in under budget for my family’s tire replacement and rim grinding
-I mistook the timeline of an email and brought the car in for service. Rafik informed me I wasn’t due for service yet. He totally could have taken advantage of my pocketbook, instead he made it clear when I should come back for the proper timed service.

Had a head gasket blown on my Mazda! Took it over to ABM as they were right down the street as I’ve had work done on my other vehicle and used them. They replaced the engine(which I expected was going to happen) and all necessary parts. Stayed within budget and recommended other things that will need to get addressed in the future. Car runs like brand new! They stand by their work! Definitely recommend them!
Repair was quick and efficient. However, they had said they don't do text notifications when the car is ready, but now my friend, whose number I provided as a backup contact, is getting spammed with ABM ads.
Excellent mechanics. The only mechanic I've ever actually recommended to anyone. Very flexible and reasonable - I'm lucky to be within walking distance.
They'll happily give you the honest estimate of what needs to happen right now versus what we can put off until later.
Once my old Saturn was making some terrible noises, and after they determined it was a simple piece of wheel well plastic that snapped off in a strange way, they bolted it back into place and didn't charge me a dime.

I haven't had my car repaired by them yet so this is just about their niceness and putting me at ease. I have a flat tire and thought I am kinda screwed and would need a tow truck. Me knowing nothing about cars didn't make portable air pumps that you can use. So I ordered and am hoping it will work so ABM can fix the tire. I also need other work done on the car and, based on the reviews, this seems like a great place, I'll post updates thanks!
We were led to ABM Auto as a result of our Cobalt failing the emissions test. It turned out to be fortuitous. They were efficient, friendly, honest, and did a fantastic job, taking care of multiple issues the car was having. There are a lot of auto shops in Chicago, but it's hard to find one like this. Very impressive and highly recommended!

Had to get my brakes checked and an oil change—ABM on Montrose came through. Dropped it off around 2:30, picked it up by 5. No upsell nonsense, just straight-up honest work. Spent about $180 total. Staff's friendly, place is clean, and they explain stuff without the jargon. Only reason it's not 5 stars is 'cause parking's tight. Still, solid spot for car fixes.
ABM is an honest and fair mechanic. I brought my car in for what I thought would be an expensive fix but it was actually a very minor issue that they solved with no charge. I really appreciate mechanics that are up front and honest. I highly recommend them
Fast and thorough car service! Also, as a woman, I so appreciate that they treat me very respectfully (both when I’ve been there alone and when I came with my male partner). Feel free to ask questions! The gentleman who works front of house gives clear explanations scaled to people who know nothing about cars, and does so without making you feel silly.
They might be the most honest mechanics I've ever encountered. Great quote, amazing service, and even drove my car to Skokie to get an emissions test to prove the catalytic converter worked correctly. I couldn't be happier. Will be going here for all my automotive needs in the future.

Brought in our Prius for a wheel alignment and oil change. The team at ABM Auto Repair did a thorough inspection of my car and provided recommendations, but never pushed me to do additional work. Great service, timely, and cost efficient. I will definitely be bringing my car to this shop going forward.
Finding a mechanic can be a daunting task. There are good ones out there but extremely hard to find. My search began because my regular mechanic retired. I had issues with my manifolds. It was a very laborious process which meant it was goind to be $$$$ I took it to one guy that quoted me and later said he couldn't fix it because he didn't have the tools. Huh? My intuition said it was too much for him to handle since he didn't have a large staff. I've gone to others where they completely rip you off and not worth mentioning. Anyway I started my review search especially in the neighborhood I live in. Took it straight to ABM. Adeel informed me that they've had worked on similar issue with my vehicle so I left it there for them to check it out. Called me back the next morning to tell me the options I had to keep my cost low along with other issues that may need attention in the future. I appreciated the no push sales approach. He was very honest and respectful and the price was fair. Went ahead with the job and they fixed the problem. I think I found my mechanic? Will try the shop again when I need future repairs and update the post with my experience. Nice that I can walk/pickup my car. Support local business too which is a plus! So far, so good!
I went to ABM because of the many stellar reviews. They did not disappoint. I knew my A/C compressor was bad, which they confirmed. They also did a thorough check of the rest of the car. They called me and told me what they found and what they recommended. ABM let me decide which items to fix, no pressure tactics. Once I signed off on the repairs, they had the car ready the next afternoon. The price was fair (especially compared to my dealer service shop!) and was exactly what was quoted.
I have found myself an auto shop and will use them moving forward.
