I found an engine listed by LKQ on Car-Part for $1,106. When I called the number on the listing, it went directly to LKQ in Illinois, and I was directed to their website to purchase it. The exact same engine with the same part number was listed there for $1,223.50.
Since it was after hours and I wanted to secure the engine, I purchased it. The next day I contacted customer service expecting them to correct the difference since it was their own listing.
Customer service (Jo) first said the difference was due to shipping, which made no sense because I also paid $330 separately for shipping. Then she said it was tax, even though tax was also added on top of the $1,223.50 purchase price.
The final explanation was that they “don’t price match other companies.” The issue is this was not another company — it was LKQ’s own listing on Car-Part, their own phone number, and their own website.
Refusing to honor your own advertised price is disappointing and feels like a very misleading way to do business.
can't get a hold of anyone to tell me what size the tire/rims are on a vehicle... online does not give that information either. Hit the sell your car option just to get a human vs hung up on... they said I have to drive there to ask. I am not driving an hr to go ask a question that someone should be able to answer in a call or an email.
They charge exorbitant prices for the parts, they want to charge as if they were new, and then they don't treat the customers well; all the employees there are very arrogant.
It's a place that charges you $3 to get in and you go and find the vehicle you're looking for and see if it has the parts, then take them off yourself and pay for them...that easy....don't forget your tools!
Quick, painless for being there when they open. had what I wanted for a competitive price for decent condition. Could be a lot more friendlier and act like they care about business. Cashier was rude and continously cut me off whenever I started to speak.
Didn't give good service and keep increasing the price for car steering wheel first the employee said $24 then he said $30 and the employee been disrespectful
This was quick and easy process. I received a quote from them. We agreed to a pick up time and location (They charge $50 for a pickup fee) and conducted a legit transaction. Didn't have any issues in the process. Id like to shout out the gentleman from APA towing that came and picked it up. He helped me push the truck out of my garage. We stuggled a bit but he held it down and we were able to move it. Would recommend
I went in today 11-20-2025 for a rear door handle, when I was checking out, around 1:15pm, I noticed that my receipt said that I got charged for a 90 day guarantee, I told the guy that was at the cashier that I didn't want the guarantee, being that I knew the handle was in good working condition. He told me that I should of said something before he rang me up, and that he couldn't do anything about it. I asked why did I get charged, he said because that's an automatic charge, I said that how come he did ask me if I wanted the guarantee. He's response was that he doesn't need to ask me, he said you need to read the signs, I said the signs say guarantee is optional. Then he told me that in order for me to get the guarantee refund, I would have to return the part and get a whole refund. Then go back to the yard and remove another handle smdh. How can a guarantee be optional but then get charged automatically without being asked if you want it. The guy that rang me up had no customer service, he should be trained or transferred to do something in the yard where he doesn't deal with customers. Something needs to be done about this because I've seen similar posts. Employees like this make a business look horrible.
Called to ask a question and got sent to a call center in another country. The lady on the other end couldn't answer one question. Your better off just going to another place rather than deal with this place.
Rows are numbered for easy access. Only problem some of the cars trunks were locked and couldn't get into. Added a $9 fee without asking first for the 90day guarantee. They should ask whether it's posted or not.
DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE EVER! They gave one price when I went in for both tail light assemblies on the passenger side. They only had 1 of the 2 pieces and it was broken. Then the complete jerk at the counter tried to charge me more than the original quote for both pieces intact. Scammers stay away from here!
Horrible customer service. Horrible employees. So much attitude for what should be a simple transaction. This place needs to be shut down if the staff can not treat people with basic respect.
Horrible customer service here for a paying mechanic coming in knowing exactly what they're looking to pull. Cashier threw the piece of paper at customer and talk disrespectful. Dont know how to be helpful. Seeing other ppl reviews with same issue. Give your money anywhere else.
Went there to get a bumper for a car that as already scuffed and had a hole on it said the price was 99$ thwybahd charged me the 90 warranty on it without telling me. Went back inside as soon as I got to my car to tell them I didn't want it. They said I had to get a refund and get a different bumper that I couldn't just get the warranty removed off of it, that I was supposed to tell them at the register and they couldn't just remove the warranty But they claim it was optional. I suggested everyone coming her to check there receipt for them trying to charge you for stuff you don't want there scamming people.
Lol security guards treat me and say he was police not knowing he was talking to one witch I just don’t say on every place I go. But the entitlement of checking my bag walking when he didnt look at it walking in. They try to say I was stealing and didnt found nothing and on top say if he wanted to keep my book bag he would and there nothing I couldn’t done lol. Unprofessional as its get knowing he just 11 not 12. Ill give to the check out guy I think he is puerto rican with the diamond on the face that was the only professional there. Beside that is not worth going cars missing most of everything they most likely ready to crush that what you can get out of them. And the security guards that looks like a temu shaun Michael Ill be seeing you again and Im going to need prove of that badge
These people are scam artists. I went to go some tires and rims for my brother and when they didn’t fit the car we returned everything and they were saying the tires weren’t marked when their cashier marked the inside of the tires me and step dad a whole argument with their staff. They only wanted to give me half of $109 from $209 total back. These people are very unprofessional and have young cashiers who don’t even know what they’re doing/ don’t provide good customer service. Terrible experience and they still have the audacity to try and send me half back I just submitted a dispute against them.
Horrible service. Paid 661 for them to pull a transmission for me. They never called. 2 weeks later I went in. They said they "called me 2 times". Never did. Apparently the transmission was "broken". 200$ pull fee down the drain. Never again.
This is a pretty good yard. I didn't find what I was looking for, but there are plenty of prospects. It would be nice if the cars were sectioned by make. But overall, it's a good spot.
We came here on 4/26/2025 at around 2:00. I won’t complain for pricing but horrible customer service from the cashier. Guy with curly hair did not give a crap about how he treated the customers pushing warranty and judging for not wanting it. I’ve seen several reviews for the same issue and clearly nothing is being done to address this.
I went here to buy a part on 4/16/2025 at 4:08pm. Cashier was rude trying pushing a warranty and when I said no twice. He rudely responded by saying I heard you the first time. He then proceeded to charge me for the wrong part and when I told the cashier he insisted both parts were the same price and that it didn’t matter. When I told him that wasn’t true he got frustrated and told me they would double check. He comes back and states that there is a $5 difference in price.making the part I wanted $5 cheaper. Then they proceed to tell me rudely that this one time they will fix the mistake, even tho it was a mistake on their end. I did notice some managers standing behind them and not one said anything to this cashier.
I had a terrible experience with LKQ. They promised to pick up my car between 10-11 AM and assured me they would call beforehand. None of that happened. I even called to confirm, but when I did, they were dismissive and basically told me to stop whining and wait longer. I’m sorry, but I have a schedule to keep and can’t just sit around all day. This was super unprofessional and a complete waste of my time. I won’t be dealing with them again.
Drove today close to an hour for a car that was posted last night 11/05 2024. I'm the fourth one to get into the lot when I get to the car the A-spec packages gone I spoke to the manager and he claims that maybe somebody last night jumped into the lot and stole that. The least they could have done is updated the pictures and not waste people's gas .last time I'll be going to that place
The car I needed was located exactly where the inventory said it would be, and unlike some other yards I've visited, the cars are NOT stacked, they're all accessible.
The parts I needed were exactly as the web photo showed, and the prices were reasonable.
I was asked if I wanted a part warranty BEFORE paying, I was not automatically charged.
I'll be back.
I purchased a turning signal marker two weeks ago. It turned out the marker was the wrong year and it didn’t fit my vehicle. I returned to get a refund and was told by the employee that the product did not have the correct color indicator they usual place on items. I informed the employee I was charged two weeks ago for the product and was also charged a 90 day guarantee , even though I was not asked to be charged a 90 day guarantee. I again informed the employee I purchased the product at there junk yard two weeks ago and I showed him the receipt. The employee not only did not give me a refund with my receipt but didn’t even honor the 90 day guarantee, that I was charged. I will never purchase anything from their location ever again. If you shop here please make sure they mark the correct color indicator specified for that month , also be aware they will not inform they will charge you a 90 guarantee without your knowledge. I wouldn’t even give this place one star. Shame on them for nickel and dining and not honoring a receipt nor their guarantee policy.
Please fix and update your website and your customer service. The service is 50/50. Just tells me that they do not have phones there and I have to go in person. How am I to get a visual on a vehicle or confirm if a part is there. If I plan to commute 2-3hrs for a part and it’s not there, it’s more then just a a waste of my time and money. Then the pricing is hilarious. It’s okay though. It’s life. I just wish the business had better customer service and was more organized.
Tried this place out for the first time today. MOST of what you will read in the comments is accurate. The inventory is kept MOSTLY up to date, although there were a few things we were looking for that were gone by the time we actually arrived. Overall, the website was accurate enough to find what I needed. Cars were parked in the lots identified online. Very cool place to go see. Customer service number is non-existent, corporate line just hangs up on you when you try to dial for pricing. Overall I would go back for sure, just temper expectations and know what you are looking for, and this place will be a great resource for you.
