I appreciate them for being honest. I had a converter replaced by another shop near my home. The shop that I originally went to did a horrible job. I traveled over an hour to value plus, I told them about the recent work they looked at it. And repaired the issue, I was expecting to replace the converter. But they show me what was wrong and fixed it. And the price they fixed it for was really really cheap saved me well over the $1000.00 dollars I was expecting to spend. Still a great place for exhaust work! My muffler fell off on the way to work, and I pulled right in on the way home later in the morning. They put my car on the lift right away, inspected the whole exhaust including the detached muffler that I still had, told me about the work they would need to do, a price, and then did the work immediately after I agreed to it. I was in and out in about 45 minutes. This is *the* place to go to for exhaust work!
Fantastic exhaust mechanics! I checked these guys out after my usual mechanic recommended replacing my car's whole exhaust due to the number of leaks and general condition. The guys here inspected the exhaust and said they could fix it by replacing a section of pipe, the donut gasket, and putting a couple new hangers on and welding the rest back. They even offered to do the work right then and there. I was there for about an hour and had my much quieter car back for an exceptionally reasonable price. Will definitely come back for all my exhaust needs and I highly recommend you check them out if you need exhaust repairs, too!
Thieves sawed off my catalytic converter in the Bomanville neighborhood, again! I was referred to Value Plus Mufflers. They welded a pipe, which was a quick & cheap fix, compared to adding another converter that Thieves could rip off, again!
The solid team at Value Plus Muffler is at the top of the charts. They accurately diagnosed a problem with one of my cars . And, got me running right away. My second car had a problem 2 days later … once again … Value Plus Muffler accurately diagnosed this trick problem. Fixed the problem, and got me on my way. !

These men are MDs (muffler doctors). They surgically removed the rusted-out section of the exhaust pipe, welded on a new piece, and all in under 15 minutes for under $100. Their honesty is much appreciated!
My muffler system was taken out by a Chicago street under repair on a Saturday afternoon. Luckily, AAA arrived within 10 minutes, and I found Value Plus Mufflers online, told them my issue and they said I could bring it in. I was very happy because I didn't know where to bring it. When I arrived, it was 15 minutes before closing so I was thinking I'd get my car back early the following week. To my surprise they said they could have it done today! After looking under they saw it needed more work than expected, however they finished the job in under an hour at a very fair price. Thank you Value Plus Mufflers! You have a customer for life, and I will spread the news about your shop.
READ THIS REVIEW. I have been coming here for decades to get my cars serviced whenever I have an exhaust issue. The guys here have always done a quick, affordable, and good job on my car. All of this almost changed the other day. (Unfortunately, I wrote a very long review, but it was too long so Google would not allow it to be posted. Therefore, I am writing a short summarized version of what I initially wrote).
Long story short, came here 4 days ago to get an exhaust issue inspected. Got quoted a price and came back 4 days later to get it repaired. On my second visit, the technician that I initially spoke with suggested that the problem in the exhaust was coming from the rear. This was weird because when I initially saw him 4 days ago, the technician said the problem was in the front and middle. In any case, the technician did work on the rear of my car for the same price he quoted on me 4 days ago.
When I left the shop, I still noticed there was still an exhaust issue. I brought my car back to shop to have them inspect the issue. Initially, I was told by the technician that they were busy and was asked if I could come back tomorrow to have them inspect things further. I did not feel that it was right that I should have to wait an additional day to get things reinspected, so the technician, after some hesitation, told me to come back in 30 minutes. I came back in 30 minutes and they took my car in the garage.
The technician definitely said there was a problem at the front of the exhaust and that a gasket needed to be replace (the same thing he told me on my initial visit). I explained to the technician that I did not observe him doing any work on the front of my car earlier today, but instead only saw him focusing on the rear exhaust section of my car. I told the technician that he quoted me the price he charged today to fix these problems and that I would appreciate it if he honored his word and took care of everything for the price that was quoted. The technician that he would have to charge me more money, almost twice the amount that he initially quoted me. I explained to the technician that I did not believe this was fair and that I wanted him to honor his word in terms of taking care of all the exhaust issues he addressed at the price he quoted me at before I left his shop today. The technician said he could lower the price by 20% but if I wanted the issue with the front of the exhaust to be fixed that it would be a new price. I asked the technician to please take my car off the lift so that I could leave and that I was done doing business with their shop.
At this point, Valerio (owner/boss) steps in and asks what is going. I explain the situation to Valerio and so does the technician. After some debate, Valerio told the technician to please take care of the work on my car and not to charge me an additional fee. I was very thankful for Valerio stepping in. I have interacted with Valerio in the past, and while I did not remember his name on this visit, Valerio has always been a delight to do business with. I find him to be a kind, honest, and hard working individual and am thankful he intervened today.
If it were not for Valerio, I would have written a 1 star review and not given this place my business in the future. Valerio is the reason I am writing this 5 star review and the reason I will be returning to this place when I have exhaust issues with my car. I appreciate his leadership and that fact that he honored the word that was given to me. I cannot speak anymore highly of this place and I am thankful that we were able to work things out.

I highly recommend this shop. As a dad that has adult age daughters living out of state, it's important to me to find honest auto repair shops that will keep my daughters' vehicles safe and not price gouge. And this is definitely the case with Value Plus. I can't thank them enough for taking care of my daughter when I wasn't able to get the car serviced myself.
I'm currently getting a 60-year-old car back to driving condition, and needed an exhaust leak (or three!) repaired. This isn't the kind of car you can just buy replacement parts for. I needed a shop willing to custom-fit repairs. Ren and his crew didn't even flinch at the unusual job. They treated me with respect, gave me a fair price up front, and had the work done by lunchtime. For a small shop, they had no trouble handling my land yacht, or the fullsize truck that came in after me. I've walked past this shop many times without thinking. After being inside, I can say these guys know what they're doing and don't waste their money or yours. I'll be back!
This is, hands-down the best muffler shop in the city of Chicago. It’s a no-frills, all-business, 7-days a week operation, and true to its name, will give you the biggest bang for your buck possible. I’ve been bringing my now-vintage Lexuses here for years and just this morning they did a custom repair on my nearly 30-year old exhaust system, charging me half of what other independent shops charge and literally 1/4th the price that the dealership wanted for the work. They are thorough and experienced; do great, lasting work and it’s an under-rated gem of an auto shop. Cash is preferred, (cash is king, baby) and if you know a little Spanish that’s cool, too. They’re fast, honest, fair and will get you back on the road quickly. These guys know their craft and they’re friendly and will take great care of you. Check ‘em out.
Excellent friendly service, came in as my muffler was hanging. They inspected my vehicle asap, showed me exactly what needed to be done, and replaced my flexpipe in 20 min while I waited. All for a very reasonable price!
Solid shop, everyone seems so polite and happy. Love it when the ever single mechanic smiles and greet you Great service and super fast. Got my catalytic converter and a new exhaust system installed in less than 1.5 hours. Also referred me to an incredible shop for some sensor work as well. They do a a lot of other things as well. Worth checking out if you have other non muffler related issues as well. Will be a customer for as long as they will have me.

Got a muffler delete on my Hyundai Accent, finished it in less then 20 minutes. Great prices. Charged me almost half of what I was going to pay somewhere else. If you looking for a place for good quality work for less money and fast then this is the place. Car sounds good ash.
Needed to pass my emissions test after failing with a long list of codes. It took several tries, but the whole team worked together to solve the issues that came up and I was able to pass with flying colors. They were honest and patient, thorough and helpful. Will definitely be using this shop from now on, a customer for life!
2022 Update: Quality still going strong here! Was given an inspection and a fair price on a complete engine-to-bumper exhaust, after Chicago salt rotted mine out. The team pointed out what needed to be done, and had it done while I waited. still great service, still highly recommended.
2018: Small shop, and great service. The folks working there are up front and honest, and are great at explaining what's going on with the vehicle, if it needs something more than what you came in for. Have been there multiple times for exhaust work on multiple vehicles, and always have left greatly satisfied with the quality of their work.
I normally do not write reviews however I have to acknowledge this business! Their work was not only thorough but it was accomplished in impeccable timing. They were all incredibly warming and friendly from the start and were very accommodating. I appreciated their efforts to not only show me the work they'd be doing on my car but they also informed of why the whole process was even necessary. This place will now be the business I share to all my friends and family!
This is THE BEST place to take your car. I will never go to another auto shop in Chicago. Very knowledgeable and professional staff. Great prices. Very fast and efficient. I’m so lucky I found them based on their high reviews. Now I know why they’re so highly rated. My stolen converter was replaced instantly and for a very reasonable price. They showed me everything they were doing every step of the way and gave me great advice, saving me money on things I didn’t need.
I went here to change out my muffler on my 2013 Nissan Altima. You won't believe what happened next because truthfully I still don't. I pulled in, got out of the car and left my keys. The head mechanic didn't ask me any questions. He lifted the car up into the air with the machine, figured out the problem on his own, and then fixed it immediately and quickly and under 30 minutes. I have difficulty putting into words how blown away I was by how efficient and knowledgeable this shop is. As an added bonus, the customer service there made me feel like I was at home because everyone there is so friendly, he gave me breakfast. I wish I could give more than five stars but I can't. So please bring all your muffler related needs here, they are easily the best.
Quick, Easy, and really cheap no frills repair. Good value. Have a 20 year old Saab with an exhaust system in really bad shape. Instead of quoting me $400-$800 for a total replacement system, they were able to piece together and patch up what was there already for half the price. Might not be the most extensive or through repair, but I got exactly what I needed for the right price. Would definitely go back again and recommend to others.
This is a new place for me and near my home. They were able to fix my exhaust that I could not fix on my own since everything was so rusted and seized. I had no hopes. They were quick!
I had my car serviced for a muffler related job (very loud noise) and they did a great job. Two other shops gave me a "through the roof estimate" while these guys charged me a few times lower so I am very happy with their service. One more thing: what brought me to this shop are their excellent Google reviews so if you have a serviced done by them write a review to help others (like myself) pick up the best provider.
Went in today to get my flex pipe replaced. Was in and out in 30 minutes. Quoted me $100 dollars over the phone (a third the price quoted to me elsewhere), and that’s exactly what I paid. They even threw in some new hangers for my exhaust pipe. All the guys were very nice. Will definitely return for work in the future.
Found my muffler ripped off my car after hitting a speed bump. Called these guys 10 minutes before they closed and asked if I could make an appointment for tomorrow - given the 3 other shops I called said I had to have one before they could even give me an estimate. They chuckled hearing this, gave me a rough quote and told me to just stop by with the car whenever.
Arrived at 8:30 AM next day (right when they open) and they had my car on the lift with him and I underneath it by 8:31 AM. They not only showed me exactly what happened, but what exactly they were going to do to my car. When I asked how long this was going to take, he said 'I'm gonna do it right now!' - turns around and starts welding it in, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!
Papers signed, money exchanged, and out the door by 8:45am and not a minute later. The quality of the work they did exceeds expectations by far. If you do not come here, you are making a big mistake.
