Kind, honest and speedy: Joe's Expert Auto deserves your business. My sister came down to Chicago for a post-Christmas visit and her car started have problems and by the end of the 4-hour drive was basically undriveable. Joe's was recommend to us, but with only two days before NYE, they were completely booked. Despite this, they squeezed her in, accurately diagnosed the problem and fixed it quickly so her family could get home before the holiday. The price was fair and honest, and much less than we had expected. We'll be taking our car to Joe's for all future repairs!

I took my 2012 Toyota FJ cruiser for a weird waggle noise. They are very helpful, found what my car needed and some extra safety issues that they have found upon my request

Last week I was having a problem getting a screw out of my old license plate so I could place my new set. I'm new to the area and know almost nobody I could ask for help. So, after watching 3 youtube videos and utilizing the only WD40 and screwdriver in my possession but failing to fix it, I called Joes to see if they could help. They offered to take a look right away if I came that afternoon. They were able to remove the old screw and help me place the new license plate within 5 minutes and were very kind about the whole thing-I would definitely return for other more car-related issues in the future!

My car’s bottom cover came off and called to ask for the price range to replace it. She asked me showing up to the store. I showed up, lifted my car for 10 mins, gave me an estimation and charged me $90 just for it. I did not go if I knew about the price. They should’ve told me at the phone about that. I just wanted to know the price and paid 90. Very disappointed

Joe's Expert Auto on Elston is my go-to spot. Last week, I brought in my '09 Fusion for a brake job. They checked it out and told me I didn't need new brakes yet—just some cleaning. No upsell, just straight talk. Ended up paying around $60 for the cleaning. Fast, honest, and fair—hard to find that combo in the city. Highly recommend if you're on the NW side.

Brought my 4th gen 4Runner in last year for a some new axles and recently moved closer to now get routine maintenance done. Very honest shop and they do excellent work. I’ve brought up any questions or concerns and they’ve been more than happy to answer and bring up any possible solutions.

We've been taking our cars to Joe's for years. They consistently have excellent and friendly customer service. The car is ready when they say it will be ready, and they call immediately when it's finished. With the inspection, they'll tell you what urgently needs fixing and what is less of a priority. They answer all my questions patiently and with expertise, but without the attitude or hard sell. The work itself is always done to the highest standard. Prices are fair, and they explain everything to you in advance. Very highly recommended.

It is always a fantastic experience with Joe Jr. and his team. I'm sad that I'm moving out of state as they have been my go-to shop recently. Getting my car fixed was easy. They communicated what was wrong and what it would take to fix it and how long it would take. I have owned this car for over 10 years and the price seems consistent with most good auto shops. Everyone I spoke to was very professional and courteous.

Is it weird to want to send a Christmas card or bring cookies to you auto service shop? Or enjoy going in for repair work? But I do! I've been going to Joe's for about 7 years (or maybe more now) for service on my 15-year-old Subaru. This is a family-owned business with super-honest and high-quality service. They take time to explain everything and even show you the parts needing replacement or work. Their prices are fair and I never feel like I'm being talked into unnecessary work. I trust their judgement and the referrals they've made for work not in their "wheelhouse." If you've only been going to your local dealer to get your work done (like I used to do until they started suggesting "urgent" repairs on new parts), consider trying an auto service shop like Joe's that take great pride in their work and treats their customers like family.

Joe's Expert Auto is AMAZING! I have been here numerous times over the past years, and they continue to exceed my expectations. The business is owned and operated by Joe Jr. and his father, Joe Sr. and for this past appointment, I went to Joe's Expert Auto to get a new flex pipe put into my car. They finished in a timely manner, and upon checking out, Joe Sr. commented that the serpentine belt that was put in my car a few years back (by a different auto shop in Chicago) was way too long for my car and that I should come in sometime soon to get it replaced. I told him I would call back and went on my way. I got on the freeway and literally, as I was driving home, my steering wheel stopped turning and got rigid and my battery light came on and my AC stopped working. I got off the nearest exit and called Joe Sr. and he told me to come back. Sure enough, the belt had come undone. I was able to leave my car with Joe Sr. overnight and was able to get it the next day. I appreciate this business' reliability, flexibility in prioritizing emergencies, and warmth (he even gave me a 10% discount because of the emergency repair that had to happen with the belt). I cannot emphasize enough that this is a family mechanic that has got your back and will provide you the BEST service. They are honest, reliable, and lovely people! Thank you thank you!!

During these trying times Joe's was not only open they took the time to properly evaluate my car. Even though it was more work than I had expected, my car drives like normal again. They were 100% upfront on the work that I needed and gave me a realistic turnaround time. Bonus: They provided a second opinion on some work that I knew I needed and came up with a drastically lower quote than another shop. Mostly because rather than replacing everything they were going to focus on the problem area. This will save an order of magnitude worth of money.

Saw a nail in my tire. Bring it to the closest place I could find .... which was this business. They looked at it and said it was too close to the sidewalk to be plugged or patched. So I left the care with them so they could replace the tire. I get a call 30 minutes later saying the nail didn’t puncture the tire so no need for any repair or replacement. They could have just replaced the tire and I wouldn’t have known the difference. But they didn’t. Amazingly honest service. Recommend them enthusiastically.

I was extremely pleased with every aspect of my experience. The inspection was quick, and the needed repair was clearly explained. The parts were installed a couple of days later and everything is working perfectly. I highly recommend Joe’s Expert Auto for great service at the right price.

have had 2 car issues in 2 years. both taken care of very quickly. They are very transparent with their pricing and what they think are the issues. Honestly, painless interaction and things were sorted out pretty quickly. My car is running fantastic (2003) after both visits. As a note; I compared pricing to my mechanic back home in NH and pricing is very competitive and fair according to him. Works for me! Will visit them again if my car decides to act up! Mike

They're really nice and helpful. They explained the issues they found, but more importantly told me which ones they recommended I fix and which ones aren't a big deal. I really appreciate their honesty. I've taken my car there twice now and will continue doing so.
