Great customer service! Extremely welcoming and professional atmosphere. Was able to get my brakes and starter replaced in a few hours!

Went in with a flat and was told it could not be repaired. The guy was rude from the moment I tried to come in. Luckily, the tire could not be ordered so I went down the street and got a plug for $20. This was 10 months ago and the repair is fine. Do not go here.

We’ve been using Speedline for 20 years! Ron and his team are reliable, reasonably priced and punctual with all repairs.

A warning. This place is so highly recommended, and I don’t get it. The owner/receptionist is very hot and cold and you don’t know if he will be kind or rude/unprofessional. My last experience left me feeling intimidated and mistreated as a customer. I had a few prior visits with speedline with a good customer experience. One time I took my car in when they opened for maintenance/oil change, and needed it for work by 2pm so I called around then, my car still wasn’t ready. They said no worries we will get it done by then. I had my car back in time, but my air cabin filter was changed without permission (they never called and asked) which is no problem but costly for something I can do myself. So, the next time I took my car in for maintenance, I said “you guys always say my cabin filter needs to be changed, so please if it is dirty me know but please don’t change it” which he angrily responded with “why would I be paying my guys for time and labor if you don’t want it changed? We just won’t look at the cabin filter then if you are refusing services.” Downgrading me to an oil change only, without telling me. Meanwhile LOOKING ME UP in the system saying “you haven’t even been here before!” as if that justifies his treatment of me. I had been there before. My last name on the file was misspelled as Wheelar instead of Wheeler. If you feel intimidated please take your business elsewhere. I did and have no regrets. Look into more reviews and you will see this behavior is very regular for them unfortunately.

I've been taking my now 15 year old car to Ron and his mechanics for at least the last ten years now. It's been running for 15 years because of the honest maintenance Speedline performs. It's a city car and takes a brutal amount of bumps, starts and braking. I plan on getting another ten plus years out of it with Speedline!

I was about to read my tire size off to a guy on the phone and he told me to call back and then hung up on me. He didn’t really even give me a chance to finish my sentence. I don’t think I will ever patronize this place based on how rude and unprofessional the person answering the phone was, and if anyone asks where I go to get my tires done, I will make sure to tell them not speed line. Looks like I’m not the only one that isn’t very impressed with their phone etiquette.

Been using Ron for years and can't recommend Speedline enough. Runs a totally honest trusted shop. There are times he could have told me it required more extensive work and I would have paid it, but turns out it was something simple. Being a regular there are times I've stopped in for just a tail light being out and he doesn't even charge me. The guys working here are real gentleman.

Great first experience with them! Called about a tire and they ordered it and was installed later the same day. Fast, efficient, and friendly, I truly appreciate it. I highly recommend

Called to schedule a service, guy was rude, cut me off twice as I was answering his questions, and then hung up on me after less than a 1 min conversation. Called at about 1:40 pm asking for an oil change and general diagnostic. Was told I could bring in the vehicle at 8am on Friday. I asked if there was a later time I could bring it in, and he says "You can bring it in that time or you can take it somewhere else!" And then he just hangs up the phone as I'm asking another question. This place was strongly recommended by my best friend, but it seems they don't want my business. Very rude and inconsiderate when I was just seeking some clarity on the process and to help explain my issue beyond an oil change.

Shockingly, the best car maintenance situation I’ve nEVER had! We thought we needed new rear brakes, and I dropped the car off and within 20 minutes, heard back that I needed no maintenance at all and it was free of charge! Amazingly honest service and would definitely bring the car back again! THANKS SO MUCH!

As some others have noted, this business can be incredibly rude when you start asking the slightest questions so you can make an informed decision as a customer (which is always a red-flag, in my opinion, when any business acts this way). When you are calling a repair shop because.. obviously you need something repaired(!).. and they say "you should take your car to the person who is maintaining it", that's not a professional response.

I’m a resident of the neighborhood this shop is in and twice i’ve ran over to them helpless and in desperate need. Both times, they took me in and got the work done ASAP. Both times they didn’t charge me (although I rightfully left a tip for their services). Having them so close by genuinely makes me feel better as I currently live away from my whole family for school and don’t have anyone to rely on for auto issues.

From beginning to end I had a very positive experience with Speedline. They were upfront, honest and attentive to what brought me in for a repair. I recently had a bad experience with a nearby auto shop and they put my worries to ease as they were able to find the issue and fix it in the same day. They even went the extra mile to stay open a little after closing so that my fiance could pick up the car. I highly recommend this place and they got a loyal customer in me going forward.

If you’re not bringing your car to Speed Line, Auto & Tire, you’re missing out on the best shop in Chicago. The owner is honest, approachable, and takes the time to listen. The shop is spotless, and I always leave knowing the work was done right without being overcharged. My go-to for every repair.

Absolutely horrible customer service. Guy that answered the phone didn’t think to ask any questions, as if I knew how their systems worked to look things up. Instead he decided to go straight to “Well who are you?! I dont know who you even are.” Absolutely true. And all it would’ve taken was a “Whats your name?” Or “Can I have your phone number?” In most parts of customer service, I get it. But this part of service really isn’t that hard. Unless of course, you just hate your life in general. Tldr: Stay clear from here. Find more decent people.

Had gotten oil changes here before with no issue. I called because a different auto body shop noticed something wrong with my car (issue with wheel axle) during an oil change and I wanted to get a quote for how much it would cost Speedline to do it because I’ve never had my car repaired and I don’t know much about the process. The man on the phone was incredibly rude and said “That’s a lot of money, good luck with that” when I was trying to explain to him what the other body shop told me. He then told me to stop interrupting him and then hung up the phone before I was done talking. Stunned at how rude he was to a potential customer. I’ll never go back here even for a simple oil change nor will I ever recommend anyone else go to this place.

I have been going to Speedline for years. They always do a great job. I dropped it off when I thought I had an emergency. They were fully booked, but said they would fit it in. I have a VW and City VW was going to charge me $200 just to look at it. Speedline didn’t and my service only cost me $100. They saved me $100. Love these guys.

Was pleasantly surprised they were able to replace my front springs, struts, brakes, and tires same day. Price was better than the other quote I got. Note the 3% fee for paying by credit card. I think you can avoid that by paying cash.

Reliable, honest, quality work at a reasonable price. Highly recommend this shop for your auto repairs, they've saved me several times now! I had my air conditioning system completely replaced here at half the cost of what the dealership was going to charge, and most recently, they solved an issue I was experiencing with loss of power when accelerating. Car runs great now! I've referred several friends to this business and everyone has had a similarly great experience. Thanks to the staff here for doing such a great job.

I recently had all four of my tires replaced and got an oil change at Speedline Tires, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Ron, the owner, is incredibly friendly and honest—something that’s rare and so appreciated these days. He took the time to explain the condition of my tires and even told me, very candidly, that I needed to replace them whether or not I bought from him. That level of honesty really stood out to me. The shop is clean, well-run, and conveniently located in the neighborhood. It’s refreshing to have a local business you can trust for quality work and straightforward advice. I’ll definitely be returning to Speedline for future auto needs. Highly recommend!

Had a first rate experience at Speedline. Ron was very friendly and got a number of my car issues (tires, brakes, motor mount replacements, tune-up) handled expediently all in one day. Very happy with the results! Speedline is my new go to for car servicing!

Went here for first time for routine maintenance and oil change. Friendly and fast service. They have a 4% CC fee so if you have cash for services like oil change you can save some money. Also have a sense of humor with their complaint department.

My car battery was flat and the tech came to my apartment and powered up my car and drove it to his shop and replaced the battery all in the matter of minutes. Quickest service ever. Team was able to help fix my car in a jiffy and they were so friendly. Extremely efficient.

Super friendly owner/manager. Got me right in for a quick tire repair. Didn't have an appointment, so was very happy. One of the cleanest lobby and bathroom I've seen at a business.
