Very large building, great parking, and assortment of most things you need to renovate your home chandelier, kitchen cabinets, flooring, tile, sinks, faucets, toilets. A lot of the items were new in the box. Easy to access, knowledgeable staff. Reasonable prices.

Fantastic place if you care about the environment and want to upcycle things.

Went by looking for cheap bucket paint and wasn't disappointed...Second Chance doesn't sell paint, so happy to have checked it out. However, when I went to check out I was given a "sales pitch" for a membership. The way the worker presented it made it seem like it was required in order to make a purchase. It was $10/yr. As my purchases only totaled $14 and it was unlikely I'd be shopping there more frequently once every year or so, combined with feeling blindsided by the membership fee, I immediately was just going to say that I didn't know about the membership and that I was just going to put the items back. But before I could get the words out of my mouth, the worker switched course and said that it wasn't required if I lived on the other side of town (which I do). I didn't appreciate the way that was handled and it will definitely make me think twice about stopping by next time I'm in the area. There was no signage or indication on their SM or website that there was a membership required.

This is a great community store. I will likely always come here first when working on new home projects

A great resource for any home projects. I was able to find good quality true 2x8 lumber to replace floor joist on my porch. The staff is very helpful and the prices are very reasonable.

It was a great experience, being my first time at this store. It was quite beautiful seeing the pieces of Baltimore history, being reinvisioned for more projects around the city. The staff was quite helpful, and very informative.

This second hand warehouse has everything you can think of for a home. Love it. Prices are very good.

A DIY must. I was building some raised bed in my garden, I found the lumber at a very reasonable price.

My husband is a woodworker and is always looking for great sources for quality wood, as well as inspiration pieces. We've been to ReStore, which we love. We also recently discovered Second Chance, which we thought was awesome. So, we were excited when we found out about this place. The amount of wood that they had was amazing! It was a fantastic assortment of different quality kinds of wood, at very reasonable prices! They have a great selection of items that you might need for your home, whether you are remodeling, or just looking to add a few new pieces to your decor. I did not realize until I looked at their website that they have a $10 per year membership fee. However, for the quality of items you get at such amazing prices, it's definitely worth it to support a great non-profit.

So we went down to Bmore to go to 2nd chance and it was closed so we swung by The Loading Dock on the way home. Glad we did! We both found tile for projects we were going to do. I got 60 sq ft of marble tile for a really good price and my partner got floor and wall porcelain tile for his bathroom! Great staff and organized very nicely

Fantastic building supply salvage with treasures around every corner. Lots of reclaimed lumber, building materials, windows, doors, paint, etc. There is always some free project wood in a rack in the parking lot and the prices really can’t be beat. I hit up the Loading Dock whenever I need project supplies that don’t break the bank.

For years I have been shopping at the loading doc as of to date March 2025 I wouldn't waste my money and you better have a pocket full of it when you come to the loading dock. Their prices have quadrupled for used items that were donated. The loading dock has become extremely greedy And over price.Today was my last experienced there. I will no longer. Spend my hard-earned dollars at the loading dock for use goods that Are more expensive than home depot and loads.

This place is fun and always has something new. Go with an open mind, find something cool and get innovative to make it work for you. Also, ask if you can donate whatever you are considering taking to the dump. The staff is great and willing to help.

What a lovely experience! The staff is so helpful and really enjoy their work. They answer questions in a kind way and also take pride in the mission of the organization. It is great to have an option that is more cost effective and better for our planet. Thank you for being a part of our city!

Great selection of salvage building material. $10 membership usually pays for itself in one or two visits.

Great place to find that odd hardware item you've been looking for. The prices are ok to great. Although they can be high on some stuff like HVAC and kitchen cabinets. Other stuff like surplus items they are great priced. Also note there is no tax on purchases here. Staff is very helpful

Had been to Second Chance (another nearby salvage) several times only to be disappointed by price and selection. So, this trip, we decided to swing by The Loading Dock and see what they had … and they had plenty! We ended up filling my pickup and my wife still had to tear me away. Great selections, great prices and great customer service. Highly recommend!!!

Great place, just difficult hours to get into. Definitely more catered to contractors than DIYers, but there is something for everyone's needs here.

From what I understand the loading dock was formed by contractors. Me being a contractor love to donate and purchase building material from them. I noticed that when I dropped off the window I donated today. That the store was unusually clean and organized. I also noticed that the store displays when you first go in. Look like all brand new items soil, rolls of weed prevention cloth, kitchen faucets still in the box, kitchen sinks and boxes brand new stuff. I was in a hurry today so I didn't get to do my browsing of the whole store. But if the rest of the store looks like the front and the inside that I saw. Wow what a improvement. I've been a member for at least 7 years and that's the best the store has ever looked to me. Five stars to all the employees that are working there now marked improvement.

Updating this review. Great customer service! Management was very responsive and contacted me right away and cleared up this misunderstanding and made it right. I am very grateful that this company not only provides a wonderful stock of building materials and unique items, they also care about their customers. I have purchased many items for DYI projects for my home and yard here. I love this store because it triggers my creativity. I will continue to shop here for great finds, and really appreciate the staff and manager’s customer service. Keep up the good work of providing great items for the community to improve their homes and for great customer service. ——— Previous review... I’ve shopped there several times before with no issues and found good things. But I was just there on Friday and bought 4 acrylic/plastic big puzzle shaped pieces @ $16 each, and when I got to my car, the pieces were a few inches too big and wouldn’t fit in my car. I bought them back into the store, and ask to get something else of same or more value and they wouldn’t do it; they would only Hold for 3 days, and charge me restock fee if not picked up by that time. So a word of caution to shoppers. I was not aware of this policy. I don’t see where they’re losing anything in an exchange. I’m the one losing now because they have my money, over $60 and I have nothing, as I had to leave the items I paid for there and they can sell again. Whereas if they did the exchange they would’ve still had the money and I would’ve got something else I could use. Not customer friendly policy, I feel robbed. So make sure you know the item will fit in your vehicle first, or you will be throwing money away too.

Used to come here for used stuff because the prices were ok but it seems management has changed and so has the prices. So instead of paying used prices for used stuff now you can give them new item prices for used stuff.

You can always find something interesting or cool at this place. Good spot for those expressing themselves creatively. I've been coming here for a few years. Check out my pics.

Great spot for home improvement or mending material. Nothing new but all still workable material for the entire home! GREAT prices for things if you don't mind gently used. Great staff who are all helpful, friendly, and knowledgable. You have to be a member to purchase ($10.00 for a year so not bad at all and not automatically renewable) but it's well worth it. Chances are, they'll have what you need! Highly recommend and will be returning often!

It's hit or miss, depending on what's been donated, but this place should definitely be on your list for materials for projects-check what they have before heading to a retail place.
