Do not trust these people get full details up front i took a aluminum box almost 3k pounds and was told its clean aluminum to get 8 cent a pound from 51 cents a pounds he excuse was the have to cut it up , its was crushed when pulling it off the trailer.
This place is mega big but lots of signs to show you the way. Go slow, massive potholes but that's no biggie. It's a scrap yard. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful.
If you travel all the way there because their
business hours are from 8am to 4pm and you get there at 3:46pm, the gate will be close and they won’t let you dump your scrap. Very unprofessional way to do business. If you are running late and need to dump your scrap metal and don’t care about “best price” just go to REAL SCRAP in Wesport. They are open until 7pm
I bring scrap metal to the Millington site many times. The staff is very polite, helpful and courteous. I use to go to another scrap facility, but located Sims. I’m glad I did.
Make sure that you double check your ticket and take a picture of your scale weight. The inexperienced scale operator stamped me in 2,000lbs under weight somehow. I was told to wait for a manager to call me that same day, they did not . After a week of trying to get hold of a manager I was told there’s nothing they can do. I’ll note that I’ve been a regular here for many years and this is the only incident I’ve had, I just don’t want it to happen to anyone else.
Don't understand why you need a car if you can carry the copper in your hands and don't have enough to fill up a car or truck you still have to show id.
I have gotten good quality service and unprofessional service.price flexible.They changed policy what is acceptable and not acceptable.
I got ripped off for my wire. I told the staff to put my motors back and cords for unfair prices. Copper and steel motors price for steel.
They be ripping you off your profit with equals garbage Motors now they go as steel when they're seal Motors I wouldn't suggest taking scrap to them precious metals steel is steel this is like the third time out and got ripped off by United Fremont and Wilkins Avenue
My father is 80 years old and still scraps, There is a Guy name Ryan H at the unloading section who every time he see's my father come in he comes over and helps him unload all his stuff, I don't remember seeing him here before so he must be new, y'all need to hold on to this one, great customer service.....
Really love the customer service and have great rates. I do and would refer everyone to come to either United metal and Iron (Wilkens Ave or Pulaski Hwy).

I have been going here for three years coming from using Deckers. The workers are extremely helpful and polite. I would recommend United Iron to everyone.
I had a wonderful experience at united iron and metal west. I had different kinds of copper and brass but didn't know how to sort them. The workers help and explain the process to me so the next time I came it will go a lot smother. Thumbs up to the workers and would recommend everyone to scrap here.
