This rating is based on customer reviews, inventory size, pricing, and service quality
Based on recent reviews, AIM Recycling Phoenix West in Phoenix, AZ earns 93/100: overall highly rated with frequent praise for friendly, professional staff (team often thanked by name), strong payouts on copper/brass, and a clean, spacious, organized yard that’s easy to navigate. Many report quick, consistent processes; some note lines, extra verification, and detailed check‑in can slow things. A few complaints cite payout/weight disputes and classification issues, plus small site nuisances. Inventory variety or parts‑finding isn’t covered, so unclear. For scrap sellers, pricing/value is the standout.
Love this place top$$$ on prices. The highest paying. Love the staff. Rosie Joe Alex Shorty Daniel Thomas . They all are very sweet and caring people. I have been going to this place for more than 15 years. . And I do recommend this place to anyone wanting to make top paying prices. It's very clean and has many space so it's really not a long wait to get in and get paid. I have alot of fun at this yard. Love all u staff members at AIMS. Keep up the good work
Nice clean ran legit yard not a bunch of hard nose snobs laid back rose and Alex got it under control I recommend it all the time even though it is owned by Canadians we won't hold it against the people that work there
This is by far the best recycling facility! My husband and I just started a new business and the people there made the process so easy ! Rosie is so helpful. And Alex is the absolute best crane operator there is ! Oh and Joe is pretty cool to !
The employees are great, shorty, Daniel, Rosie, Alex. Rosie especially at the ticket window. She's on point friendly and always accurate. Thank you guys.
I love the weekly affirmations the ladies post on the board always so positive and inspiring and the gentleman working the yard go above and beyond everyone is always so welcoming and friendly and aim pays the best out everyone else in town set ur sights on AIM the best in the scrapyard Game!!
Good reasonable pay for chrome, bit of a line and I don’t like the extra verification through fingerprinting. Cash out easily at the atm next to the clerk. Would come here again.
They are off the main drag, yard is nice and flat and clean. Crew are super nice and help you step by step.
They are very detailed so it takes a bit to get through pictures, chemical scanning, double weights and paperwork at the desk. But its worth it my last yard was amazing but the access and super tight quarters made it unsafe and a nightmare to move around with my large trailers. This place has plenty of room its great.

My wife and I have been coming here for the past 7 years. The staff starts with Joe the manager he runs a tight ship is fair and always willing to help. The staff that they have are great people. You won't get cheated here. Also they pay the most in all of Phoenix. My wife and I are very thankful to all of you. Sincerely Bryan &Phyllis
We are comfortable with AIM'S Recycling. Everyone treat us nicely. They are honest and fair people. I remember our car accident. We are always thankful for what they've done to help us get back on our feet. It's nice to know how you can count on Joe and his staff. (Bryan and Phyllis Gamber)
‼️‼️ BE AWARE ‼️‼️
We brought in copper that we had already weighed at home. When it was weighed at this facility, their printer "wasn't working properly" and we were paid for only about half of the actual weight. It was clear their scale wasn't calibrated correctly, and the process felt very shady.
If you value honesty and fair pay, double-check your weight before going here—or consider taking your materials somewhere more reputable.
Me and my dad just went to aim recycling with 4 steel car rims and a whole bunch of steel grill parts but when I looked at the bill and it said mixed tin and only gave me $8 dollars 3/10 I would recommend going somewhere else if you want more money.
My wife and I have been coming to this location for years and we absolutely love it!!!! Thomas and Rosie are by far the best customer service employees you have there!!! They are always so welcoming and respectful!!! We will never go anywhere else....Thomas is always making sure the grounds and area is clean for the customers....Rosie always has a smile on her face and always asking how we have been and for us to have a great day!!! Very happy and pleased with this place!!
This is the smaller of their two scrap metal yards in Phoenix (the other being down on McDowell Rd). This yard is a little bit slower, having to loop around through the scale twice. But average people in small pickup trucks are not competing with heavy big rigs and tractor trailers for commercial drop off. They are also open later in the day than their larger commercial operation to the south. Their pricing is probably more fair than smaller, independently owned scrap yards.
