What clients say about 1st Choice Auto Parts #2 in Phoenix (AZ)
These guys sold me the wrong motor, I bought this supposedly 1996 ford mustang 4.6 sohc engine and after weeks of prepping it, it turns out to be a 4.6 but it goes back to a 90 Lincoln town car, shit it doesn’t even fit the transmission bell housing. I spent a whole lotta money on this engine. These guys got a random 4.6 motor and slapped on a mustang throttle body. It was advertised on car-part.com as a 1996 ford mustang 4.6 engine and I asked the employee “AJ” if it would fit and if it was a 4.6 for the mustang. The blue on is the prepped 4.6 from this junkyard and the red on is the original.
Went into the office everything was great very friendly. Staff got the part that I needed went to go pay for the item got confronted by some random guy. I’ve never seen and he’s like. What do you have there? I let him know. It was a part of a mirror And began to get mad and tell me that I can’t be breaking stuff and taking parts off of other parts and I can’t be taking parts apart and I said well it’s a junkyard. I just need this one piece. I asked about it in the office and he continued to complain how I’m a terrible person and told me to get out of the yard. I have money to spend and from now on, I will never go back
Very disappointed with this recycle yard. We originally ordered a fuel tank for a Cadillac. The part arrived and the driver had noticed that it was broken when dropping off. I was impressed with the driver pointing this out. I called and the yard said they could have another one out in 2 days. This put us back for 2 days. I understand the risk of purchasing used parts. The yard dropped off another fuel tank and we inspected and did not see any other issues. We installed that fuel tank and tested, the fuel tank was leaking from one of the vent tubes. They did not have another fuel tank and told us that they do not give refunds and only give in store credit. I am not impressed with this at all. This pushed the job back by 4 days total. We try to only use recycled parts when new is way too expensive or not available. I do not have a problem that the part was bad. I have a problem with not standing behind the product. If you are going to sell something don't expect someone to pay you for something that is bad from the start.
Purchased a used engine for a customer of mine. Took two weeks to receive and when we did get it we find out that it was a VVT engine that had had the solenoids removed and a non VVT valve cover installed! That is not cool! Downright fraudulent! Waiting now three weeks for another engine that they say is on it's way, four days to travel 100 miles from Phoenix to Tucson. I would not recommend purchasing anything from this company.
Been a mechanic for 26 years. These guys are bogus junk dealers. Both locations. Complete waste of time getting anything good from here. I'll drive out of state before I go to them again.
Then want to act like they want to fight there customers when they get called out for not performing.. losers all the way.
Update.. my customer had them deliver the unit so he wouldn't lose a restock fee, for something we never even set eyes on by the way. The case leaks soon as I tried to fill it. Good job guys.
Do NOT come here. Over paid for a 16 year old motor that was no good. First they lied and said it had 90k miles. After running the VIN it actually had 156k miles. They refused to reduce the price after finding out it had 70k more miles--whatever I needed the motor so I brought the core & purchased it. According to them it came with a 90-day warranty. Upon installation of the motor the same week of purchase, started it up and the motor turned out to be bad. At this point I called them back same day so that I can get it replaced under warranty and they denied the warranty with no legitimate cause, thus I was scammed. So now I'm out 1500$ and still stuck with a car that's not running. Customer service was very poor The workers were very rude.
We had a perfect experience with 1st Choice Auto Parts #2. My 2005 Toyota Corolla needed a new manual transmission. They knew right away that they had one, pulled it out of the vehicle, and shipped it to our location. The shop that installed it told us that it was in excellent condition. Thankfully, we have the car back now, and it feels brand new. Not only is the part great, but Noel provided superior customer service. She was knowledgeable, responsive, helpful, empathetic, and friendly. Noel is an ideal representation for 1st Choice Auto Parts #2, and if you have the chance, we highly recommend that you choose to interact and do business with them.
I had a terrible experience with this junkyard customer service. The young guy was incredibly rude, and they wanted to overcharged me for used part. It felt like they were taking advantage of the situation, Rather paid full price at the dealer than the ridiculous prices. I would strongly advise to take your business somewhere else, avoid at all cost
I purchased a transmission here and was initially pleased with the way Junior resolved a small issue in the overall experience...
Update 1:
The Transmission shop doing the swap/install has informed me that the transmission is MISSING REVERSE GEAR...
Update 2:
After many weeks, an alternative transmission was provided to the shop by Junior...
My vehicle is now running... however the labor costs are not just to take out the original and put in the transmission that was then found to be missing reverse but now also the labor to take that transmission missing reverse out and put in the 2nd transmission that Junior supplied that is now in the vehicle.
Lots of labor costs that 1st Choice Auto #2 caused by selling a transmission missing reverse in the first place... that allegedly I am stuck paying for?
Given the above facts I can't recommend anyone buy parts here...
Update 3 (reply to owner):
Understood that labor costs aren't covered on the initial purchase.
If it were me & my business (and I am a business owner myself) I'd cover some labor costs on the removal of the 1st faulty transmission and install of the 2nd -- as the initial sale had a problem. Your decision to cover $0 in labor and stick me with the entire portion was the difference between a 5 star review for all issues properly & fairly solved instead of a 1 star review.
I'm open to improving the review of the resolution to additional labor costs should you change your mind.
Covering some of the labor costs would change things from 1 star to 3-5 depending on the extent of your prioritizing the bigger picture for you, and doing right by the customer.
Let me know what you decide🤷🏻♂️
I called for a price on a number of parts and the quotes they gave me were comparable to brand new OEM prices. And when I asked why the price is almost exactly the same as OEM parts the lady on the phone got an attitude and told me I was wrong. Safe yourself the time and money and go somewhere else or just buy the parts new.
They are complete scam artists. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with them. They DO NOT compression check engines before selling them. You can only count on getting a core if you buy from them. Tried returning an engine that was full of water and rust less than 24 hours from picking it up and they were rude and unwilling.
Very professional they told me they would check in to my part. Call me when they find it and they did of course before they made me come down there. They ran the numbers off of it to verify. It was the correct part that I needed awesome service will go again. Will continue to go there.
Pricing is nonnegotiable kind of a bummer, but it is what it is makes up for it with good service and the correct part. Thank you.
Ken
They are priced higher than the dealership on most parts and the owner is just rude to deal with and always has an attitude like most reviews I would avoid this place
Don’t buy anything from this place they are expensive and very rudely behavior I wasted my money and not given refund on not working product they will waste your time also and money
