I would not recommend calling these people if you need a volunteer tow bc it will cost you an arm and a leg. Given the circumstance, the people are pleasant here. It does take a bit to fill out paperwork and give you your property back but they are professional during the 30 minute process. My issue is with the price. I understand businesses are just trying to make money in this economy but it’s a bit ridiculous. I was expecting a $240 maybe $300 max for the bill but it was $640! For only 3 days my gosh. This company isn’t private, it’s owned by the police department so if you get towed by them you’re screwed out of a hefty bill. Opd pulled my rental customer over bc the vehicle has a dealers’ license plate on it, even though dealers can switch plates to any vehicle in their name that’s the point of the plate. So they towed it instead for checking the VIN to the plate. Just tow happy not even aware of the actual laws just wanting to make a dollar. In my 5 years as a dealer I’ve never had this problem so that officer needs a refresher course. Not only do they charge for the initial towing fee and price per day, they add other additional fees which I feel like they are just making up at this point. Like a tarp fee, which they didn’t use a tarp to cover my car bc when I picked it up in the back of their lot it was out in the open sandwiched between a bunch of other cars. But I still got charged for it. They charge cents per mile for the distance to their lot. They charge for gas. They charge for an administration fee, wtf is that even for?? They charge a fee for labor. If you don’t qualify for the fees they want to charge you for, THEY LITERALLY CROSS OUT THE STATED FEE ON THE PAPER AND HANDWRITE SOMETHING IN THEMSELVES so they can charge. They cross out the fee that doesn’t apply to you and scribble in random words to make it apply. Crossed out tarp bc they know they didn’t use one and wrote lienor for $225. Wtf is a lienor? They don’t explain anything to you or tell you what you’re paying for they just hand you the bill and make you sign it AFTER you’ve paid. I can maybe understand cents per mile but once you add it to the original towing cost there is no need for a fee for labor, it’s the same thing. No need to charge for gas, the cents per mile covers that already. And not only adding all the additional fees they lie about the condition of the vehicle in their possession I’m assuming to cover their own a**es if they damage your property. They stated that the condition of the exterior of my vehicle was “poor” even though it’s a 2017 vehicle for rental purposes with a new paint job and regular maintenance on the body work so that it’s good for rentals in the first place. No way they looked at my car and thought to themselves “yeah this is poor condition”. Overall it’s a scam and I’m mad about the price bc it seems heavily inflated and greedy. I wouldn’t recommend.
Super friendly staff and great customer service. Richelle has outstanding customer service and definitely goes above and beyond to help! Her follow-up skills are second to none! I needed to get a piece of equipment loaded onto a hotshot truck's trailer which was too low for our dock height. Matt arrived on site promptly to assist with his 75 ton rotator. Unfortunately, the hotshot driver was late. Matt ended up leaving and coming back two hours later once the hotshot driver finally arrived. Matt is down to earth, very professional, wasn't bothered about having to leave and comeback to complete the job. Outstanding service! I'll definitely be using Johnson's Wrecker Service again. When my truck stopped running in a 7'2" parking garage, I called around and many people said they didn't have the right tools for the job. However, when I needed them most, Johnson's Wrecker Service was able to send out a specialized low clearance tow truck and get my truck to a mechanic. Alex did a fantastic job! Came out very quick on short notice and got my truck to the shop, even let me ride with them to the mechanic. 10/10, will recommend! Thank you Alex!
